They no longer return phone calls or emails which makes running a business even more challenging. They provide dates to submit your return info online then extend you anyways despite meeting those deadlines and expect you to pay for the extensions even though you did your part correctly. They've missed some significant deductions the past few years and are generally not very thorough. There is a serious lack of professionalism and duty to their clients. I recommend utilizing another firm that is more engaged with their clients.

Robyn took one look, rolled up her sleeves, and worked tirelessly until that number dropped all the way down to $114. I left her a message on a Sunday, and by Monday at 3:30 I was sitting in her office. She stayed with me straight through until 8:30 that night, even during a monsoon storm outside, never once losing her patience or showing frustration, even though my file was a complete mess thanks to TurboTax. Yes, it cost me $850 to have her fix everything (on top of the $350 I had already wasted on TurboTax), but I would pay her fee a hundred times over before I'd ever give the IRS $7,300. Robyn is worth every penny. Her professionalism, dedication, and kindness blew me away. TurboTax will never advise you, correct you, or fight for you the way Robyn will. It was an expensive lesson, but one I'm glad I learned--because I've now found the person I trust with my taxes. I'll be filing my 2014 return with her next week, and I know I'll be in good hands. She is in her 70s, has dementia, and needed a professional who could patiently and competently navigate the process. Instead, we encountered an accountant who was lazy, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. From the very beginning, Bill failed to read or absorb the information I provided, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times. Rather than listening or problem-solving, he fired back condescending emails filled with attitude. At one point, when pressed for guidance, his response was: "There is nothing further I can do for you. You will need to find a tax preparer that doesn't know what they are doing in order to get the return filed. Good luck!" That's right -- instead of doing his job, he essentially told my family to go hire someone "who doesn't know what they are doing" if we wanted the return completed. What kind of professional speaks to clients like this? This wasn't a one-off slip in tone -- it was a pattern of arrogance, laziness, and outright neglect. Bill showed zero compassion for my mother's condition, no willingness to problem-solve, and no respect for our time or circumstances. He seemed more interested in blaming us than actually providing solutions. An accountant's role is to help clients through complicated situations, not abandon them when things aren't simple. Bill made it clear that he doesn't have the patience, professionalism, or empathy to handle real-world clients with real-world challenges. Prospective clients: take this review as a warning. If you entrust your sensitive financial matters to William Mease, expect rudeness, blame-shifting, and zero accountability. His replies, on the other hand, were consistently dismissive, combative, and unhelpful. The problem wasn't that he insisted on accurate information -- any competent accountant should. The problem was his failure to communicate, failure to read the documents provided, and his repeated choice to lash out with condescending emails instead of guiding us toward solutions. Professionalism isn't just about refusing to "compromise integrity." It's also about having the patience, empathy, and communication skills to work with clients in difficult situations. Bill demonstrated none of these qualities. His responses showed the emotional intelligence of a toddler -- reactive, defensive, and incapable of constructive dialogue. Luckily I had made physical copies before dropping off my documents to that other service and I found these guys on Yelp. Evelyn was very friendly and booked me an appointment right away and offered their help to file an extension and prepare my taxes at a later date. Bill saw me in person hours later to explain everything and what to expect. When he saw how simple my filing was he offered to do it right then and there so it would all be resolved. Despite hitting a few roadblocks with getting all the information needed from me, he patiently helped me figure it all out and ended up getting it all filed. After a horrific experience elsewhere and this office's kind and quick service, I will be returning here in the future. Instead of being insulted and ignored, I was treated with kindness and respect even though I am not a big money account. Bill managed to do in an hour what my last Tax Service couldn't get done in a whole month. Thank you!!!!!

I had to follow up repeatedly--through multiple emails and phone calls--just to get partial responses. At no point did I feel like my case was being actively managed. Instead, I felt like I had to hold their hands through the entire process and double-check everything myself. They required full payment upfront, and after that, it felt like we were forgotten. We were left in a situation where we had already paid a significant amount but received little to no proactive service in return. There was no clear guidance, no timely updates, and no sense of ownership on their side. What is most concerning is the number of errors and oversights. The Massachusetts tax liability they calculated was off by approximately $16,000--an enormous discrepancy that we had to catch ourselves by recalculating everything using TurboTax. We also discovered on our own that certain overtime income was not taxable in our situation--something a tax advisor should absolutely know. This mistake alone cost us over $2,000. On top of that, the Massachusetts payment was never processed, and we were not informed. The only reason this was addressed is because I followed up. Had I not done so, it likely would have been missed entirely. Being told afterward to go online and handle the payment ourselves defeats the purpose of hiring a professional in the first place. Overall, this experience created unnecessary stress, risk, and financial impact. When you hire a tax professional, you expect accuracy, accountability, and proactive communication. Unfortunately, none of those expectations were met here.
