Masterful Craftsmanship…read more I am giving a full 5 stars to the crew that finished our basement. These guys are true professionals and absolute masters of their craft. Their work ethic was matched only by their incredible attention to detail, the quality of the finishing throughout the entire space is top-notch. They were consistently respectful of our home and clearly took immense pride in everything they built. If you are looking for elite skill and a flawless physical result, this team is as good as it gets.

H&C construction has been my go to contractor for my last two large renovation projects. The most…read morerecent was a full bathroom teardown and renovation and we are thrilled with the results. The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. All in all, I highly recommend them and they will be my first call next time I have a project!

Granite Outlet did not install my counter tops. My review is based on preliminary email…read morecorrespondence. I agree with the other reviewer: customer service is severely lacking at Granite Outlet. I emailed them for a quote and they came back significantly higher than another company I was in contact with. Out of courtesy, I shot them an email thanking them for the quote and explaining that I found the same product for less elsewhere. The response I received after my email was a very patronizing and macho. I emailed back saying that I didn't appreciate the tone and asked them to refrain from email me again. Minutes later another snarky and defensive response. Thank goodness I didn't go with these guys. They definitely have some problems following what I consider simple directions. PASS.

Their customer service is simply horrible. Richard from their Rockville showroom is rude and…read moregetting him to return a phone call is pretty much impossible. Their operations department isn't much better. They certainly don't care about making their customers happy. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. There are plenty of places in the area that do granite, go to one of them. They might be a bit more expensive, but trust me it is worth it. I wish we could do it all over again and not be stuck working with Granite Outlet. I should have taken a hint with their website being "graniteforless.com" - less indeed. To further illustrate this - once you get your counters, you don't hear a word from them. You'd think that they would want to make sure you were happy with their product, that everything went well, and that the install was fine but they don't. They've got your money at that point so that's all they care about. Granted, at this point it's probably better for Richard's ears that he never call me again, but it would have been a nice outreach gesture to at least ask if we liked what we got. The end product was fine, albeit not as nicely crafted as counters from other sources. There are some severely rough spots on the underside of the counter lip that should never be there. I just have to cross my fingers that they hold up. If I could take the whole process back and go someplace else, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

People who…read morecare, spend attention on what matters and follow through on what they say they are going to do. This is especially true in the contracting world. I cannot give enough of a glowing recommendation throughout the entire design and remodeling process that blue collar scholars provided. They showed up on time for the estimate, provided multiple options, gave us multiple designs and material selections for our home addition in Maryland. We got three quotes, however, this company's professionalism and attention to detail is what sold us. Working with their architect Sam was also an incredible experience in itself. When shovels finally broke around three months later, the foundation team, the framing team and the roofing team did a great job, keeping everything clean as we were still living in the house. We finally had to move out for two months as they opened up the original part of the house and connected it to the addition and completed all of the finish finishes. There is now a gorgeous, open kitchen, a brand, new master suite, an amazing Jacuzzi, a custom sauna, beautiful, big windows, and just incredible tile work throughout the new bathrooms we have. Their landscaping team did a phenomenal job completely over hauling our backyard. We now have privacy and a lot more space for our family.

By far the best outdoor living contractor in the DC area…read more They were very reasonably priced, provided a comprehensive estimate that allowed us to make easy decisions and communicated extremely well throughout the whole process and execution of the job. We now have the best patio in our DC neighborhood, our drainage problems are nonexistent and we are able to host gatherings very easily with tons of fun! They provided options for a stone patio, paver patio, and a brick patio. Obviously, as you can see in the pictures, we went with the brick! I love the timeless look, and I think it goes really well with the rest of our yard and the look of our home. Special shout out to their Forman Erick and his two assistants!
