Rude and unprofessional…read more The first time I talked to Elena was over the phone. I was inquiring about her services when she made an off-putting comment- "Such a strange playful way of spelling your name..." she said "...do you always LIKE to spell it that way?" And I thought 'Well since it's the way my mother (who by the way is now dead) spelled it on my birth certificate, yeah that is how I ALWAYS spell MY NAME.' I should have stopped there without booking. Now don't get me wrong, I'm fond of my 'playful' name. But as a first impression, this comment from a mental health specialist came off a bit strange, as if she'd assumed things about a person (me) she'd never met. Not to mention it was potentially offensive depending on the state of the caller/the culture they're from! But against my better judgement I booked her for the next compatible date in our schedules. Lo and behold, the day before our appointment was a full 10 hours of travel for me. I arrived home late and put all the mail on the counter before falling asleep. Upon waking in the morning I discovered that my WATER was turned off for routine building maintenance - a notice that was sitting in the stack of mail that collected the 4 days I was away. Ugh. I immediately called Elena's number (provided on the forms I has already printed and filled out prior to our appointment -per her instructions) MULTIPLE times with no success. I also politely emailed her that I was extremely sorry but since I was unable to shower or brush my teeth before meeting her for the first time, I hope she understood. No answer. 5 minutes prior to our appointment time Elena called, sounding worried. I explained to her the calls, email, and then gave her the run down of my situation. If she was trying to be empathetic it didn't show. When I restated that I was not coming I thought I may have given her a panic attack. She went into a frenzy about checking her email and said that she'd 'obviously be okay and figure something out'. Whatever that means. It wasn't long until she texted me her correct email address and informed me that she had the WRONG PHONE NUMBER up on her site / forms all along. Apparently her email has a period between first and last name. But the cherry on top was when she emailed me FROM THE "WRONG" ADDRESS letting me know that I had no reason to give her less than 24 hours notice much less not show up at all. Well Elena, maybe my situation wasn't ideal, but neither is yours. Had I known 24 hours prior MYSELF then I would have contacted you- but it probably still would have been at your outdated forms of contact. A situation arose and if you can't show empathy about a small issue in the present, why should I or anyone trust you with the buried, horrific details of the past? So glad I won't be paying those crazy prices to work with her rude disorganization. So hey, maybe she did her job as a health realization counselor, because I sure realized a heck of a lot about what first impressions of your health care provider should not look like.

I was looking for a professional who would treat my seemingly small concerns with respect and…read morecompassion. After the first email I felt this is who I was looking for - the email actually felt like a big old warm hug. Dr. Elena helped me with my growing anxiety by telling me about its roots, signs and ways how to deal with it. She taught me tools that I am using regularly, even after months. When the therapy was over and it was time to let me go, she did it with grace. It's been such a pleasure knowing her in person, I wish everybody had same luck finding the right therapist in the right moment of their life.

I met Meghan (the owner & BCBA) a year ago when I thought something might be wrong with my daughter…read more- she was not speaking at all! I thought there was a slight chance that she might have autism. My daughter's lack of communication skills lead her to violently bang her head on the floor because she couldn't communicate her basic needs - water, food, etc. My husband and I didn't always understand what she needed. At the first session, Meghan had her signing 3 words. After a few months, Meghan taught my daughter to sign 20 words and also taught her to make more of an effort to speak. More importantly, she taught me and my husband how to motivate my daughter to speak. She had a ton of tools in her toolbox for us. She also significantly reduced the violent behaviors and frustrations my daughter had. She also helped me navigate the system to figure out what was going on with my daughter. We found out later that my daughter was suffering from apraxia. Meghan is truly GIFTED at ABA! I recommend her to everyone!

Ahhh, where do I start. The day I called to schedule an appointment, the office was nice to my son…read moreand myself. After his session, the therapist and the office seemed to have completely stopped communication with me. I emailed the doctor, and she notified me that the teacher did not complete one of the forms. I was able to get the teacher to complete the last form within a week. I did not get any feedback from my son's results/ test. I am a single parent, and I had to keep reaching out to the office for any reaction from them. Dr. Jay is really nice and quick to respond to her emails, but I figured since I am the father of the patient, there would be more communication. We went to this facility in January, and the paperwork was completed in March after I was notified that all of the paperwork was not completed by the teacher when I emailed the facility. Fast forward to June when I was able to get a virtual call. I received a call from the office at 9am from Mandy to let me know that I would have to pay off the entire co-pay, which is above $1000. I did not hear the location she called from. I had 2 appointments today, one for my son and one for myself. Furthermore, I asked if I could make a partial payment and was told no. I told he I would call back to notify them of my decision and call them later. I called back to cancel the appointment and was told that I would have a cancelation fee added to the current balance. I asked Manady a few questions, which she answered, and then proceeded to talk over me when I tried to talk. She ended up hanging up on me because I raised my voice to try and talk over her. Iris is the 1 (Iris) of the 2 (Dr. Jay) bright spots in this location. Iris called me back within 10 minutes. She apologized for Mandy's actions, and for the long process, we were able to have a 2-way conversation, I was able to set a payment plan up, and Iris helped calm me down. Thank you so much, Iris!!
