She stayed on the phone with me for 47 mins as to ensure that the script was sent and received on the receiving end, because we kept getting fax error messages. Critique of of Practice (2 Stars): I absolutely can't get lucky in this area, 212-445-1660, is the worse. You will never get a hold of Ste. 311, which is baffling because they are FULLY staffed when you go into the office. The office administrators and clinical staff appear very unorganized, slow in response time and lack efficiency. The message receivers, whom are not located onsite, will be the only option if you don't live near the office. I had results that came in over a week ago, and I had to call multiple times to check in on them, and then when I could finally get a staff member on the phone, they told me they got lost in the mix of papers. Are you kidding me, Unacceptable. All the competent medical personnel must have retired. In the medical world, things are actually Life & Death. But I guess if its not yours, then other people just don't matter enough. That's the message Bergen Medical sends. Honestly, the 2 stars are for convenience for the onsite lab and cleanliness.

He screwed up my Aunt's knee surgery and other patients. When it was time for my meniscus knee tears to be operated on I made an Appt to see for myself. Even though the nurses on my unit all warned me off the record not to go to him. His bedside manner was awful. Think he was afraid of a law suit. Rightfully so. So thankful I didn't have him operate (went outside the hospital). I'm wondering if the positive reviews are false or paid off. Seriously avoid this Dr. I don't care where he practices from now. Brendan Guilarte, my therapist, as well as several other staff professionals, have provided excellent guidance and coaching in exercise, stretching, and specific skills in regaining comfortable movement, strength and ease in activities of daily living. I was amazed how effective the remote sessions were. Steven C, my therapist, provided excellent guidance, was extremely knowledgeable & the methods were very organized & professional. Plus he has a genuine concern for the patient. I would highly recommend this therapy center & commend them for developing remote sessions for people unable to have in-person therapy. Extremely disappointing experience…read more I waited over two hours to be seen on multiple occasions despite having a scheduled appointment. What made the situation even more frustrating was being told repeatedly that I was "next" to be seen, only to watch other patients who arrived after me and had later appointment times get called back first. When I asked about it, the explanations I received from the staff were inconsistent and didn't match what I had personally observed. Rather than acknowledging the excessive wait time and poor communication, I felt like I was being given excuses. The doctor's explanation only added to my frustration and did not address the actual issue. In fact, he took an incredibly rude attitude toward me when I inquired politely about it. I understand that medical offices can run behind, but waiting over two hours more than once is unacceptable. After speaking with others in the waiting room, it was clear that I was not the only one with this experience. Patients deserve honest communication and respect for their time. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

The surgery was quick and easy (for me, at least!) and the recovery also very easy. I was back to work in less than 3 weeks and am fully functional. She is not very charming at times, as she can come on as distant to her patients. I guess social skills are not part of the med school curriculum. But when it comes to her competency as a doctor, she is as good as they come. My respect for her as a doctor was further cemented and enhanced when I overheard the ER staff and doctors taking among themselves about her great skills diagnosing my life threatening condition. So, if you're looking for a schmoozing staff, upscale office, and charming doctor, look somewhere else, but if all you need is a super competent doctor, then Dr. Volpicella might just be it.
