I had a FANTASTIC experience with Joel Smith HVAC! We have had heat issues in our house since it…read morewas purchased and in the process of finishing our basement we decided to call in some professionals to see what could be done. I believe when the home was built the lowest bid was chosen for the install and it really stood out to a few of the people we called to get estimates. Curt was extremely fast to respond and genuinely listen to my concerns. We did a pretty large rework of the HVAC system in the house and I was offered exactly what I asked for in different variations based on the price I was comfortable with. We didn't want another version of the cheapest possible install we could get. I wanted rooms that were comfortable for my children. In the end we elected to go for a dual zone setup. Dusty and Preston were punctual, had great communication about arrival, and really were the definition of a family business. They worked extremely hard and seriously took no short cuts. My 3 year olds favorite part of the day was giving pictures to her new friend Dusty. If you want a tl;dr; It wasn't our cheapest bid or the most expensive. I was offered options I was unaware of but I was never "sold" on anything. Every point of contact in the Smith family was fun and professional. There was a genuine pride in their work and the final results showed. I was listened to, and currently on a cold September day am comfortably working in what used to be a very chilly room. It's extremely hard to find a good honest family business these days. Companies like this deserve patrons or customers will only have massive conglomerates left. Thank you Joel Smith HAVAC, I hope to be able to keep doing business for years to come.

I have been contacting GVHAC for the past 3 years trying to address these issues, trying their suggestions, and monitoring the results. We have some rooms at 85F while others are 68F on the same system in different zones. When I called today I asked if the support person wanted to know my address so they could look up the system. He told me he was finishing up another customer and would look at it later and instead asked me to describe the issue... over and over... with more and more detail to the point he just recommended a floor damper on the room that's too hot. I 100% do not recommend Dave or his company to anyone…read more Dave came out to our house to service our AC via a home warranty contract we had. He claimed our unit was not serviceable and that it MUST be replaced because the refrigerant/coolant was leaking (I'm not an HVAC person so not sure which term is preferred). Unfortunately Dave doesn't do well with technology and couldn't submit the proper paperwork to the warranty company electronically. Instead he took the $100 and never finished filing the paperwork or completing the job. Thankfully, after waiting over a month of no AC and Dave's incompetence, my neighbor asked his HVAC company to inspect our AC unit out of courtesy (mid summer in 100+ degree heat) and they found that there was NO leak at all and the only issue was a bad capacitor. It took less than $20 and less than 10 minutes for them to replace the bad capacitor!!! It's been running PERFECT for the last 2+ months. I watched Dave the entire time and he NEVER CHECKED the capacitor. He took 2 seconds looked at the line and CLAIMED we had a leak that was irreparable. My family spent over a month without AC because Dave wanted to replace our unit for $4500. I guess making money is more important to Dave than helping people in his community, of which he claims to support so much.
