I hired Lowell of PGS to install two deflectors for rain on my roof. Total charge: $40. He made a trip just for that! When I wanted leaf filters I got a quote from PGS and hired them. They used a product that was of the type receiving the highest effectiveness ratings and at an installation cost in line with what Consumer Reports is a reasonable charge for the job. My roof is longer and more complex than most since my house is U shaped so I felt the charge was appropriate. I am VERY FUSSY when hiring contractors. I was a service/product quality consultant for years so know how to examine a provider. This company is passing soon to Lowell's son. Although they advertise they are a gutter repair and installation company, they are not. I had a leak in one of my gutters and gave them a call since they are only five minutes from my house. They told me it would be $500 minimum and when I said that sounded very high John said that it wasn't worth his time. That seemed very unprofessional to me and I would not recommend this company. read more
