There are several reasons I decide to drive 30 mins to come to this location. -Accommodating -Professional -Open on the weekends -Mrs. Alicia (Efficency and customer service is AMAZING!) -Dr. Andersen -It's in the mall so people watching keeps you occupied -Lens Crafters nextdoor -Oh, and Mrs. Alicia again. (Great customer service, efficiency, and common sense is hard to come by) It was my son's first time here. Appointment on a Saturday. Found out he needed glasses. Went next door, wonderful service over there as well with Mrs. Leeann. I told them that it's my son's first pair so I didn't want to go extreme on price, they understood and respected my out of pocket cost. Complete time for both places WITH new glasses to take with us on a Saturday in 2.5 hours. Can't beat it! read more

Would not recommend this eye doctor to anyone. Was charged $25 for an eye scan without asking for it/being told what they were doing, only to then be told there is no treatment for my eye pain and to close my eyes when they start hurting even after explaining that I have been doing that for months with no relief. No recommendations from the doctor on how to help, other than "maybe get a head CT if you're having headaches" waste of 30 minutes! read more

I decided to do a walk in, which I was happy to see that they are okay with. Plus they're open on Sunday. So I was super excited to be able to do an eye exam since I was way overdue. Dr Young was super knowledgeable. Took the time to answer all my questions and address the concerns I had. He gave me his professional opinion which I appreciated a lot. You can really tell he is in the field for the right reason - excellent provider overall. I didn't have a physical insurance card but had pictures of the front and the back. I informed the office manager she should use a different ID as depicted on my card but she said she did not need that particular one. After being taken back she informed me that she could not find my insurance. Luckily I am very knowledgeable and decided to pay the full price and submit the itemized receipt to my insurance. But as far as customer service, she should have called VSP and gotten a reason why it wasn't pulling up my insurance. That's what they're there for, to service the customer. I walked into LensCrafters to get an eye exam, like I've done for the last 5 years, without insurance unfortunately but still expecting to pay the $60-$80 for my eye exam...The sales associate lead me next door, and without mentioning any prices they arranged for an eye exam, $185 dollars later I had my prescription. Then I paid the $250.00 for a years worth of contacts, luckily with an $80 dollars rebate because at this point I could have gone somewhere else, and gotten an eye exam, contacts AND glasses for what I paid out of pocket...no prices were ever discussed during any transaction, but the lady at the front desk is super good a diffusing any discrepancy, almost like she has been doing it for a while! I feel like I got taken for $435.00 and all I have to show for it is a years worth of contact lenses... read more

Can I just tell you how much I love my eye doc, Dr. Honeyman, she is amazing! Every time I have been to P.E. I have had a great experience. From the friendly receptionist to techs who don't laugh at me as I panic over my glaucoma test, this place is the best that I have found. I was in this place for a eye checkup , the service was good but when it came time to pay the bill for my wife and I , we didn't have are insurance card so I paid for it out of my pocket. The lady at the front desk said to bring in my insurance card and they will give me my money back so I did that as soon as I got the new cards. To my surprise I was then told that it would take 4to6 weeks to get my money back. I think that is called double dipping. Why take insurance than. So lesson lerned don't trust people and don't trust this place , go to someone the will do what they say they will do. I dought I will ever see my money and I hope they don't steal from anyone else. Professional eyecare, Dr Barash- i'm actually writing this almost a year later but it was a great experience. Having had bad experiences with mall vision care places COUGH Sherman Oaks Galleria! i was hesitant but under my vision plan it was a covered provider, happily they have excellent hours for working people like me and i sceduled an appointment on Saturday no problem they are open before Oak Park Mall is- when i arrived its by Macys first floor, the staff was professional i got in and out and had my Saturday to myself- the Doctor was very chatty in a good way and very efficient, we talked about my contact wearing habits at that visit she gave me a trial pair of contact lenses and then a followup appointment to check out how they were fitting after a week before they ordered the 12 pair of torics, i never EVER had that courtesy and i've been wearing contacts since 1985. it was always here try these and shell out $250 hopefully they will work! after that visit my contacts were ready within a few days. i'm still wearing happily with no vision or contact issues almost a year later- although at some point i will need to go back in when i run out of contacts. i'll worry about that when i do- but i wont worry about where to go back to get vision care and contacts. they dont do glasses- just contacts and they gave me a prescription for my glasses see Invison eyewear for that review read more

GO ELSEWHERE! Poor service, cluttered office, not professional at the front desk or with the poorly skilled optometrist. They wrote me an incorrect prescription, and refused to correct the matter. Since they billed my insurance, they acknowledged that I would have to pay out of pocket for a different optometrist as my current prescription was expired. If you want a good eye exam, there are many other places to choose from. read more

Went there on july 30th for an eye exam and gave them my insurance card. They processed my insurance card and then completed the full eye exam. When the exam was over they said I owed them $120 because they were not covered by my vision insurance. They should have told me at the very beginning before they performed any services that my insurance would not cover any services performed by them. If they would have told me that my insurance would not cover any services provided by them I would have went to another provider that is covered by my insurance. They are completely unethical and will be reporting them to the better business bureau and the state attorney general. I should have been told about the insurance situation before they performed any services. read more

BEWARE of their SCAM! I am entitled to one free eye exam from my insurance. I called to make a same day appointment and was glad that they could fit me in. I made sure they accepted my insurance over the phone and in person when I arrived. The lady told me she needed me to pay up front first and will reimburse me once the insurance company paid them since it was a Saturday and they couldn't verify at that time. She said she will call me on Monday or Tuesday to update me on the status. No one called, I even called them on Monday to make sure they remember me. So I called them on Thursday and was informed that they only take my insurance if I was a federal employee. Imagine my anger. Keep in my mind, I wrote what my occupation is on the new patient form, so they knew I am not a federal employee. I asked her if that was the standard and she said yes and it has always been that way, I said why didn't they just tell me that in the beginning!!! She could not answer me and said her manager will call me back the next day. No one called. I am very disappointed in how they handled the situation, no one bothered to call me and I felt very cheated. I feel like since I cant save myself, I should at least warn others.
