Who does that today. No sales pitches, no pressure, just a very professional dentist, a gentleman that displayed his ability to focus on my needs. 1-Star - Extremely Disappointed with Customer Service and Outdated Policies…read more I'm basing this review solely on customer service. Today, I had an unavoidable situation--my kids' babysitter had to cancel last minute. I immediately called Gentle Dental first thing in the morning to reschedule. Their response? "We can reschedule, but there's a $50 fee." Seriously? What is this--1985? I'm already paying premium prices for care, and now I'm hit with a penalty for a genuine emergency? No flexibility, no understanding, no effort to retain a loyal customer. My family has brought them plenty of business, and this is how we're treated? When did customer retention stop being a priority? When did we normalize this kind of price gouging and corporate coldness? Shame on any business that thinks this is acceptable--especially in healthcare. Rescheduling still brings them business, just not my business after today! Gentle Dental, you've lost a loyal customer. I refuse to be treated like this! FYI! My appointment was for 4pm... I called at 9:30.. that's plenty of time to fill the void!

Additionally, their dentists are frequently replaced which is never a good sign. The current new assistant DDS is in office only on Mondays now. Receptionists don't last long either. Some people are already nervous going to a dentist and this is the first person you have to speak to going in?! It's insane that she even has this job. Then when you leave there she is again ready to make you feel like the biggest inconvenience of her whole day when you go to leave. Great dentist but for the sake of this business lose your younger front desk lady. The older one sitting father back is a gem but my god. The oral hygienist took my x-rays and did the cleaning, as usual. But then she said, "Let me see if the doctor has time to see you today." Huh? And apparently he didn't. I was told that she thought my teeth were fine, but he'd look over the x-rays and give me a call if he needed to. Um. Okay. I'm not knocking the oral hygienist's skill or experience, but I made an appointment to see a dentist and I paid to see a dentist ... and I did not see said dentist. How can he be "too busy" to see a patient on the day the patient's scheduled? It's as if I went to the eye doctor and was told by the tech that my vision was still really good with my current glasses, so the optometrist wouldn't need to see me that day. It felt very weird.
