The public response to my initial review is just an attempt to minimize the real property damage to…read moremy home as a simple difference of "conclusion." The physical evidence proves I did not receive the skilled service I contracted for -- a low-pressure exterior soft wash (safely sprayed from 5-15 feet away, not inches) and a manual, ladder-accessed hand cleaning of my gutters. Major Panes actively advertises a dedicated "SOFT HOUSE WASHING" method, explicitly warning consumers on their website that "too much water pressure can strip paint and loosen siding, causing water intrusion issues to your home." They promise a low-pressure rinse where "the cleaning mixture does all the work so the water pressure doesn't have to." Instead, they sent an untrained crew that used high-pressure techniques. Because of the crew's lack of experience and improper techniques, my house received a high-power blast that caused damage. In his private email follow-up, the owner, Rob Taylor, openly admitted that their house-washing process "does require water to be sprayed at unusual angles" and confirmed they clean gutters by "spraying upward" from the ground. These close-up, upward angles violate industry standards for a safe soft wash. Their improper methods hit the house with such excessive force that it left a loose, warped HardiePlank board on the side of the house, permanent "tiger striping" (zig-zag pressure scars) on my exterior siding, chemical bleach spots, and internal flooding. Their poor chemical mixing left unsightly water marks and a permanent bluish-gray chemical stain on my factory-finished aluminum gutters due to inadequate final rinsing. Major Panes actively advertises an "EXTERIOR GUTTER WHITENING" service, promising to clean them with "the right cleaning solutions and elbow grease" using precise, manual hand-scrubbing. Instead, they went against their own advertised standards by blasting high-pressure wands upward from the ground, permanently stripping the factory enamel finish. Shockingly, their own website copy openly admits the highly volatile nature of these chemicals, warning consumers that if not handled properly, "there is a risk of the cleaning agent leaving splotches on your siding." The company's job listings make it clear that Major Panes actively recruits "Entry Level Techs" with no prior industry experience required. The listing openly admits that "Certification programs are available for bonuses," confirming that the techs sent to client homes are not automatically certified or properly trained soft-wash technicians when they are hired; certification is merely an optional incentive. They are putting high-velocity commercial pressure equipment and chemicals into the hands of uncertified, entry-level workers and charging consumers a premium rate of almost $500. They failed to shield or tape vulnerable entry points, like my door lock. If the tech wasn't spraying too close or at a dangerous angle, the water wouldn't have entered my lock and dripped down the door handle, making a puddle on the floor. The tech who caused the water to come inside even saw it dripping himself. The public response explicitly states that he had to "apply lubricant to the internal mechanism" of my door lock during his follow-up visit, and I personally witnessed him spray dry lubricant straight into the door handle chassis as well. He did not even bother to clean the chemical residue off the door handle, dismissively stating that it was dry. If his crew did not improperly blast high-velocity water directly into my hollow keyhole and handle housing, there would be absolutely no operational reason for him to lubricate the internal mechanical locking tumblers and handle springs. Applying a temporary spray lubricant to a chemically flooded lock and handle does not undo the long-term corrosive damage caused by their bleach mixtures. If this lock mechanism fails or corrodes in the coming months, Major Panes will be fully liable for the cost of the complete replacement and locksmith services. I did meet face-to-face with the owner, Rob Taylor--not Lindsey. Rob claimed during our driveway meeting that the resulting scars on the wall were just "paint on paint," which is an industry myth used to deflect from high-pressure spray tips being swept too close to a surface. During his follow-up, the owner removed the remaining spider webs and the hornet's nest that his crew had missed. But those basic details should have been completed the day the job was performed, and likely would have been if the crew had not arrived 90 minutes late, forcing them to take shortcuts and rush to finish. My concerns were not addressed immediately either; it took my public reviews to get a response from the owner, as the previous emails and surveys just gave me deflection and a lot of BS. I'd be very careful about who you hire and whether they stand behind their work.

His crew of 3 men led by long-time supervisor, Kwamaine, did an excellent job of washing all my windows, as well as blowing off the roof, pressure washing the picket fence, house, patios and brick walls and walks. They were all extremely conscientious, and did an excellent job in about 3 hours. The price was extremely reasonable. I plan to have them back very soon to pressure wash my driveway. They arrived on time, they were courteous, prepared, efficient, and did a great job. No problems. The first day when they came to clean, I had noticed the roof and gutters needed cleaning out first because the debris would come down on the clean windows if not done first. No problem! Dave and team just did the roof and gutters that day and rescheduled the windows for another day. The next day, it rained and the ground was wet, so we rescheduled again. Anna in the office was very pleasant to work with in helping with the reschedules. Grace, who cleaned the interior windows was very nice and did great work. There were two other workers whose names I did not catch, and they did a fine job too. I would highly recommend Window Genie of Durham. Thanks Dave and team!

We called Fish to assist us in our airbnb property to do a basic cleaning and sill cleaning of our…read morewindows. They informed us that they could not clean storm windows, but would clean everything they could without removing them. I agreed to this constraint. I have to say that we did not meet them at the right time, which was our fault, so the team had to return later in the day. I would have happily compensated them for this inconvenience if asked. However... Upon their completion, we noticed that essentially nothing was cleaned. Not the doors (with no storm windows) nor the windows, and the sills were not even touched (turns out they never even opened one window). We asked for them to come and check and make sure this is the full extent of the work they were able to accomplish. The representative clearly agreed that the windows were not properly cleaned, even given the constraints, so reached out to his boss. The manager however responded. 1. That they were told not to open windows (clearly not true based on the quote...as sills cannot be cleaned otherwise) 2. Storm windows prevented cleaning--well, see the pictures, even the lowest level of effort was not exerted. Fish did not, as their website states, care, nor were dedicated to our satisfaction. The representative refused to even clean the sills even after opening the windows. Instead, they simply walked away from the job unapologetically--as if we were asking too much. This was incredibly disappointing, as we had seen how well the firm had cleaned our neighbor's windows. We had blocked off two of our airbnbs only for their cleaning, and gave up about a thousand dollars of revenue, but Fish could not be bothered to pull out a rag and even clean sills. I have included their bid and photos. I tried incredibly hard to communicate with Fish and work with them on any resolution, but it seems they do not want to do any real cleaning. The refusal to even wipe down sills, which is explicitly in their bid, shows the true colors of the firm. So beware when engaging them. You need to watch their every move and monitor them. A sad outcome.

Absolutely poor communication + poor service - do not use…read more I contacted Agape to do some aeration for reseeding this fall for a small lawn front and back. Their communication was slow to respond and often kept trying to up-sell me on doing a sod installation for thousands of dollars. I typically reseed myself and hire someone to do the aeration. I was going to treat myself this year and have someone reseed for me after aeration. I specifically asked for a scalp mow prior to aeration in my correspondence with them. I was quoted a higher price than most folks off of Nextdoor by a couple hundred dollars but figured I'd give them a try since their reviews were pretty solid. Aeration and scalp mowing is usually around $150-$200 for most smaller yards as the current going rate. They listed their aeration as "double aeration" (it wasn't). Once they came out their crew did not scalp mow ( which means they are laying seed to compete with what's already on the ground) the only aerated half the spots that I was quoted for. I had to visually scour the yard to see any seed that had been applied. A truly poor execution for the price. I spent the entire weekend going back over their work and putting down seed and fertilizer and covering the seed with pete moss. They also had listed putting down starter fertilizer and straw on bare patches in their quote, but they didn't do either. It appears anything that was put down was by hand and not using a spreader for any of the seeding. I was truly shocked that their level of quality and what it was billed for at twice the going rate, and worse than the people I've used off Nextdoor. an absolutely terrible level of service. I will not being using them again.
