Within 20 minutes of Ohanze being at Trainer Don's house, he had tried shoving Ohanze into a crate and Ohanze refused. Ohanze was so traumatized that he tried jumping through the basement window, poop and urinated all over, expressed his anal glands. Ohanze supposedly bit him; all don had to show was a scratch on his arm. As a fellow Veteran I can not imagine being defeated by a dog within 20 minutes of being home.

We inherited a 1 y/o completely untrained energetic German/Husky mix "Stacks" with a fun…read morepersonality but some bad habits. We knew he was smart enough for training and really wanted a well behaved dog, especially since he is so much bigger than our two older dogs. We did the 2 week board and train with trainer Nicole in DL. Stacks loved his trainer, the 70 acres setting to play in, and it was clear that his "working" was really fun for him and he is so proud of himself when he gets it right. Nicole transformed him in 2 weeks, even took him shopping at Scheels the day before Christmas, so brave. He is sooooo much better behaved at home and fun to take around and about, and out for walks. He truly is "off leash" and I rarely need to even use the E-collar at all, just as an occasional reminder or when there are a lot of distractions (he is still young and learning after all). The training was such a worthy investment, and if you have a bigger dog, it is really important to have control over them for their safety and the comfort of others around you! Nicole is an excellent teacher and explains things about training and dog behavior so well, animals truly are her calling. We are having fun continuing to train him at home, and even our older little dogs are picking up the door manners. It is awesome to not have them underfoot as you exit the house. I can't recommend Nicole and Off Leash training enough.

Hidden Acres Pet Resort truly feels less like a kennel and more like a private retreat for pets…read more Set on a massive, private property, it's essentially a country club-style hotel for your furry family members. We vetted several places before our trips, and each time our dogs stayed here, they came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. The staff is exceptional, genuinely kind, and attentive, which shows in every interaction. The facility itself is spacious, and we loved that they walk the dogs right at drop off to help them get acclimated and comfortable. During our recent holiday trip, our teenage son checked in on them, and the staff happily texted photos of the pups playing in the snow and having the time of their lives. Grooming was another highlight. Both dogs came home freshly trimmed, brushed, and looking fantastic. The only drawback is not having a live camera system to check in visually while you're away, which would add an extra layer of reassurance, though we fully trust they're in great hands. Overall, it's comforting to know our pets get a luxurious staycation when we're gone, and judging by their happy returns, they're just as spoiled there as they are at home. What can I say? Hidden Acres is truly PAWsome.

Stinger went to RR Professional Dog Training. He was…read moreassigned to Sarah at the Carlton location for "Service Dog Training". I was adamant because of the distance and it being winter (it was a 1 hour 40 minute drive both ways) but was struggling to find the kind of training I needed. I found them finally, I was so excited! We set up a phone call and I talked with Ram. I expressed that I have terrible anxiety and my dog would be needing to be trained for service and I have PTSD and Panic disorder. I requested that he would jump on my lap when he knows I'm having anxiety, to ground me and of course his basic knowledge like heeling and no barking for being in public. They agreed and told me everything I needed could be done with them! The start was basic training with him the first couple weeks, which she said he already knew how to sit and go down that I had taught him. When I went to visit and do an exercise with him the owner walked in and Stinger was barking like crazy at him and settled down once he knelt down to pet him. When I picked Stinger up January 16th he was barking uncontrollably when they walked in the building and I could tell Sarah couldn't get him to stop and it went on for a while. My heart sank because the barking was the most important thing that he shows he's behaving and wouldn't disrupt anyone by being my service dog. I have struggled with this most days and it's extremely embarrassing when you're in public and he barks. It's a lot of hospital settings due to appointments and things. I told them what was happening and they said tell him "leave it and snap his collar". That worked for a couple days. I don't think that's safe for his neck either the way Sarah showed me how to do it, it ultimately just scares him and I do not want to hurt or scare my dog when he should just listen to the commands.. Stinger is hairless. He requires clothing to keep him warm. Oct-Nov and Jan training months, I specifically stated he needs to wear his jacket outside. They sent me update pics and he was outside with no jacket each time. They called me and said Stinger has a cough, I was upset immediately and calmly said "have you been putting his jacket on? Because a dog can get a cough being too cold?!" She said the other dogs were puncturing it and that's why he hadn't been wearing it. I then said he has to wear it (AGAIN) and if it gets ruined I'll buy him a new one. Well January with the snow he has boots. I told them he does NOT go outside without these on and he cannot be out there for more then 10-20 minutes. When I went to pick him up the 16th he didn't even have his boots on walking from the kennel to me then we would be leaving. Lots of snow that day. It made me sick to my stomach, like was my dog being neglected of his needs? :'( The second time around when he was boarded for training he was not taught the up command for grounding like requested, she pretended she did but it was very obvious it wasn't trained. I asked for heel to be involved with his training because he must have not caught on to it well the first time around. This was not done. When I went to pick him up she had me play with a toy with him. Zero training. I followed all of the new commands he learned, everything to a T and always asked if I was doing something right. Continued every day and still do try. It's very frustrating :'( There were a lot of things the trainer could have done differently to make the experiences go better than they did. October 20th-November 14th - $2,400 (Picking up the 17th would have been a full 5 weeks). January 5th-16th - $1,700 (Picking up the 19th would have been a full 3 weeks) Training at Menards: November 20th - $75 December 2nd & 16th - $150 Training at McDonalds: February 2nd, 10th, & 23rd - $225

We strongly DO NOT recommend Pine Shadows due to the violence we witnessed towards our dogs when we…read moretoured their facility in August 2024 with our child. I have filed a police report, a complaint with the MN Board of Animal Health, and a complaint with the Humane Investigations team with the Animal Humane Society. The Pine Shadows lead trainer violently punched both of our dogs in the head during 2 separate incidents during our tour. He also choked one of our dogs by using the leash to pull one of our dog's feet off the ground. The lead trainer told us we needed to use the "wooden spoon" approach with our dogs and not "love and logic." As a 5'4" female I can keep our dogs under control using positive strategies when they are jumping and barking with excitement. There was absolutely no reason for the Pine Shadows lead trainer to use violence and one of our dogs was violently punched in the head by the lead trainer when the dog was walking over to sniff our other dog. If you have had similar experiences at Pine Shadows, I strongly recommend that you also file a police report and complaint to the agencies listed above.
