Miguel came out within a couple hours, took a look and confirmed the spring had gone to wherever broken springs go. Of course our home builder used the cheapest door they could find (Miguel was impressed it lasted as long as it did) so we got a fair price to replace the spring components for the next morning. He offered me several solutions and given the age and clunkiness of my system I just opted to replace everything but the door since it came with a lifetime warranty and they could do it that day.
