We sold some drinks, handed out surveys and received free drinks and admission. Walking up to the place it appears very workshop bohemian with artists and studios setting up a beautiful atmosphere. The theatre itself is quite small, or intimate, with the actors in "Orpheus Descending" by Tennessee Williams practically having to step over us which was a bit nerve-racking but exhilarating. At the end we were able to talk with the actors and the stage manager which made us feel much cooler than we are. We must try and go again - as paying customers this time!

My friend and I attended the We Love Berlin show this past Friday, and I have to say that it was…read moreone of my favorite nights in Berlin yet! We were nervous because we are from the US and don't speak German very well and we didn't buy tickets in advance, but neither mattered! The owner of the bar/theatre was so sweet and the drinks we had before the show and during intermission were amazing! The performance was fun, interactive and entertaining even though we couldn't always understand the language. We were treated very kindly by the rest of the audience and employees, as well as the Queens who joked with us about only speaking English. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and different night out in the city. A wonderful place to see drag and laugh!

Unlike many Berlin theaters there is no English subtitling during the plays so this isn't the best place to go for non-German speaking tourists to go, but if you speak the language be sure to catch a play at this temple of German Theatre.

They used to sell the scripts (or "Text") to the plays so you could read them in advance. This was…read moremy favorite place in Berlin for this purpose; I saw some great Brecht plays here. Apparently they don't do this anymore. I saw "Antigone" here in May. My German is pretty good but it was hard to follow. I was referred to the Dussman bookstore, but they didn't have it. The play was also in the "small house" and a bit disappointing. I do see that a handful of plays in the "big house" have English surtitles.

We were looking to take a few private lessons to enhance our understanding and skill in the difficult areas of frame, posture and movement in standard ballroom dancing. When I first arrived at Maxixe, I was warmly welcomed by Ele, the principal of the dance school. Ele recommended to us Maria Hirnich and Tania Dimitrova, both very highly accomplished competition dancers. I can only refer to their profiles online. Maria and Tania proved to be excellent teachers and the nicest coaches you can imagine. We loved every minute of our lessons with Tania and Maria and can only warmly recommend Maxixe, Maria and Tania for ballroom dancers looking to obtain some excellent tuition in these rather technical areas.
