The communication gaps and ghosting made it almost impossible to work with this establishment, even while I was on an assignment. I contacted the temporary employment manager and was given a truly ridiculous run-a-round. I called to inquire about temporary opportunities for which I believe I am qualified. I discussed a couple of jobs I believed to be a good fit to which I was provided a reason why I wasn't. She requested I email her two jobs that would match my qualifications because she didn't have time to look at all 75 temporary opportunities they currently have in their database. While on the phone I listed 2 opportunities that might fit - one she said I wasn't qualified for and one had no job description so she didn't know. I then suggested I tailor my resume to reflect my qualifications that demonstrate those skills. She again asked me to select 2 jobs and email them to her. I selected them over the phone but either didn't know about them or didn't want to discuss them. One of these jobs didn't have more than a generic one or two sentence job description. I then pointed out there were only a few of temporary jobs listed on their website on PSICareers.com not 75. She then said that they don't post all their opportunities on their website and that I should check out about 5 other sites and apply through them, e.g., Craig's List, Monster, etc. Seriously? It was my impression that perhaps they didn't really have "75" temporary jobs and perhaps even those listed on their website didn't exist. Are they deceptive? You be the judge. read more

Having known of and used ProSearch over the years, my last experience has left me numb by their practices in staffing/placement and, sadly, I've chosen not to use them again, either for sourcing or placement. I'm an experienced professional in my field of management and Information Technology. Over the years I have sourced and hired many people myself as well as having used professional staffing firms to place me as a contractor/consultant. My first experience with ProSearch was excellent. Normally, their recruiters and placement folks are phenomenal, kind, personable and professional. I did notice, around 2014 that once you've used them and something has been worked out and placed, you don't tend to hear from them on the followup. The average contractor is simply dropped into a vortex with their mission then being only to staff more individuals. Initially, they were not shy about wanting me to 'keep them in mind' if the role they found for me began to hire resources, which I later did. During my most recent experienced, I worked with what was clearly a new, inexperienced and complete inept recruiter, not the professionals I'd worked within the past. He was slow or even M.I.A. on the appropriate followup. During an initial meeting, he'd set-up for me with a large client corporation, I was given the wrong address to visit. He then hounded me later that day for feedback but then went silent, for weeks. After being told the company was indeed interested in having me back in, I waited for a couple of weeks for him. He was elusive, never answering calls, never returning them. At the time, I had a potentially competing offer and let him know I had to work on a timeline. I would need to determine which company to break for, preferring the one ProSearch sent me to. He told me they were very, very close and likely wanted me. I finally gave him a few days' notice, saying that if I'd not heard anything by Friday, I would "likely have to withdraw from consideration". Again, I heard nothing from the man. That Friday, early in the day I noticed he'd called and left a message. The message was: 'Hi, I called them and let them know you weren't interested anymore"! NOT TRUE! I gave him no final okay to withdraw me from consideration, my intent was to call him on Monday and, if nothing had been decided, to kindly back away and accept the other offer. But it was not that time yet.A company I told that wanted me, with whom I'd preferred to work for, had been called by this junior recruiter who should not have been working with me in the first place, and taken it upon himself to simply take me out of consideration, with my having no way to reach back to the client to correct his mistake. He left early that day (as he apparently often did) and I couldn't get in touch with them A few phone calls later, one of ProSearch's senior employees, the man over their client and resourcing efforts called me back. His attitude was unlike anything I'd experienced in the past. He was curt with a snarky tone, dismissive and had no care or understanding when I expressed both how important this was, how negatively it may impact me with this company and how unprofessional his employee acted toward me. I have no idea what's happened with this small company. I realize their resources are likely limited, and there have been more professional recruiting firms opening in the area the last year or so. I hope this company continues to survive with with that type of attitude and any growing reputation of their unprofessional, careless practices, I don't see them being a very respected or sought-after company. I would recommend shopping around and avoiding ProSearch for both employment placement and recruiting/sourcing practices. read more
