Now this timeline might not be the norm but for me it was great! I had called a half a dozen independent contractors over a period of months to look at various carpentry repairs and either got zero response or "let me get back to you when I'm less busy." Then my tenants moved out of the rental side of my house so work needed to be done ASAP. Randy was prompt and made an early morning call so I could make it to work, almost on time. He wrote up a quote. Their automated system for quotes and acceptance is a tadbit clunky but I'll take technology where I can get it. Everything was typed out and readable. The man who did the carpentry was polite and meticulous! I'm sure the doors he repaired haven't looked so well in 100 years. Then the painter came in and took care of the rest. Will definitely use them again. I do think their prices might be higher than hiring an independent. But they also show up and do the work when and how they promised. So definitely worth it. Now to pay off this bill and to start thinking about the other rotten wood spots that need work...

They were well-mannered, very professional and courteous. They were quick in troubleshooting the problem, very knowledgeable about what was causing the problem and fixed all my issues expeditiously and even upgraded my existing equipment to make it more user friendly and safer. When it was time for payment they realized they quoted me an older cheaper price. They did not attempt to coerce me into paying the correct price. They even apologized for misquoting me the incorrect price and stuck to the lower pricing that I was quoted and accepted that payment. I also chose to go with A.R.E. once I found out they were not only a woman owned and minority owned business, but they are also a locally owned company that cares about there customers. During these times it is more important than before that we spend our money locally and keep our economy moving forward.

Due to this, our air conditioner has leaked into our ceiling causing water damage. He lied to us about ordering new door fronts for our kitchen island, which we now have to come out of pocket AGAIN to get these cabinets door fronts. He promised us a refrigerator surround, which we paid for but never got. He promised us a microwave cabinet, which we paid for and never got. He lied to us regarding getting a tile company to come to our house to repair poor work done by him and his worker. We have had to come out of pocket to fix plumbing leaks brought upon by his careless workers. These leaks caused water damage to our vanities. We have come out of pocket to fix the poor insulation that was done by him and his workers. 2/3 of our triple crown molding was stolen by his workers as well as ladders and a cabinet door front. Jay was never at the job monitoring his workers so most of the work that was done has to be redone since it looks terrible. They were careless with the job and didn't cover the floors or countertops leaving paint in the grout of our floor and messing up the countertops. They hardly ever reported to the job on time which caused the project to take FOREVER!

I was scammed by a man named Brian Shakesnider and his wife. I paid them a deposit to build two gates for my home, and they never came back. When I politely asked for my money back, he got angry, cursed at me, and blocked me. I work very hard for what I have. I'm a single mother. I don't rely on government assistance or child support--I earn every dollar to provide a safe and stable home for my children. This money was meant to improve our space and give them something better. I trusted them. I believed their words and promises. And what hurts the most is they hide behind God's name, posting prayers and preaching online, yet their actions are dishonest and wrong. You can't steal from others and then act like you're walking in faith. If you know Brian Shakesnider tell him you don't play with people's lives--and you definitely don't play with God's word. Karma is real. And maybe the reason things never improve for them is because you can't build something good off the back of lies. Again, please share this. HIRE THIS MAN. Gus saved my family from some serious potential health issues! I called him out…read morefor what was supposed to be a small job, but it quickly turned into a huge job after we found what was under neath our floors.... After reaching out to a few contractors, Gus was the only one who responded.... and FAST! We moved into a new house in December. The previous owners did A LOT of renovations. Unfortunately, some of the renovations were done poorly. I noticed in the dining room and living room the newly installed laminate floors (from previous owner) felt uneven and had a little too much bounce in them. I didnt think much about it until my newborn was delivered and I was on parental leave. Thats when I decided to call Gus to come check it out. Before lifting the floors we thought it would be a few hour job. Add some self leveler and reinstall floors. If only it was that easy. After removing floors...we immediately saw plastic under the new laminate floors...and that plastic was covering OLD laminate floors. Once we cut the plastic, we saw the disaster. ROT AND MOLD. Luckily it was isolated to just that room. So he killed all the mold and mildew by meticulously cleaning. Then he ripped up the entire wood floor that was glued down to the concrete slab. He filled all the cracks in the slab, and cleaned and scraped all glue. The next day he laid down plastic over concrete slab and began installing new floors again with some help. After laying floors, he fixed up the baseboards, installed new quarter round and new thresholds. After everything's was installed, a nice new coat of paint and he was on his way! I would recommend Gus for any job small or big. He seems very knowledgeable in all areas of home construction... as I found out as I annoyingly picked his brain out of curiosity. I have him coming out for a gutter issue very soon.
