The owner told my family…read moremembers he would be back to finish the work but instead, didn't return multiple follow up calls or texts (his voicemail is also full). He had no problem cashing their check, however. I see I'm not able to reply to your message. In response to your post below on October 21, 2025: I appreciate your response but please note, the work was not finished. My family members are waiting on the final board you did not have during the initial repair. The hearty check they wrote was cashed the evening you left their house. They have documentation of this transaction. Three live conversations took place between you and a family member and you had stated on all three occasions you would be back out to finish the job. They have not seen or heard from you since, after multiple attempts to reach you. They also have documentation of the calls and texts. You are correct, additional work in the future was discussed but based on the way you are conducting business currently, they will be looking elsewhere for assistance.

And it is our fault because we did not sleep at the house being renovated so we would have been there when he showed up long before the appointment time and did not even bother to stay until that scheduled time, didn't even bother to call or text before they left!?!?! I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! IF THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT A QUOTE IMMAGINE HOW THEY WILL TREAT THE CASH YOU PAY THEM!!!! Henry Jameson Mr. Nathan M. While I can appreciate your response, that is simply not factual! The appointment was for 8:00am. My daughter was there at 7:50am. and you estimator had been there and long gone even thought Mrs. Mina said he waited 15 minutes. I have the text messages on my phone to prove what I reported, they are attached below. Hector wouldn't and couldn't be bothered to come look at what was happening. We now have bricks falling off and are being told that it isn't their problem.

I said I would update once the job was finished. Bottom line: I would not want any other Custom…read moreDeck company to do my deck. Here is why: I found them to be trustworthy. I originally hired them because I saw how hard they worked and how good a job they did on my neighbor's deck. They did the same building mine. When things went wrong they fixed them. They stayed until everything was right with quality results. This was a large $100K+ project. They might not be the cheapest but they are reasonably priced for what they do. Being trustworthy means a lot to me. Someone in the neighborhood reportedly had a deck contractor walk out on them after spending $85K. That was never a concern with Nate despite being a long project. This project involved redoing the roof, electrical, pouring concrete below the deck, doing stucco work and redoing gutters along with building a deck and adding windows and doors. Nate essentially served as a general contractor for the non-deck items. We basically took a 30'X10' deck and expanded it 5' to make it 30'X15' then divided it in half making a 15'X15' room covered by a gabled roof with windows on one side and sliding doors on the other side and open to the west. The other 15'X15' portion of the deck remained completely open. As far as quality of the work I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The previous owner is now selling on their behalf. And he never had the courtesy to contact me either. I would look for another deck company. The carpenters who built the deck were terrific. They're likely looking for another place to ply their trade, given the new owner's approach to doing business. Time to call our attorney.

When we had our inspections the inspectors commented on how they rarely find any issues with work done by J&J. We had an idea of the layout we wanted but they tweaked it and made it much better. If we were starting over from scratch there is nothing we would change. The final cost was about 30% less than the other quotes we received. I did install the flooring, wetbar cabinets, and paint myself but the rest was done by J&J. Overall we highly recommend J&J Construction!

This review is for a bathroom remodel 2 years ago. This review would have been worse back then…read more Although the end product turned out well, the construction was to take 3 months to complete and took almost a year. J the boss will blame us but his inability to efficiently manage the project and make us happy throughout the project failed. This all happened because we are experienced with home repairs, etc. and questioned many things. J did not appreciate this and penalized us with delays and more. FYI - J&J has very few employees and hires subs to actual do the work. A few of the subs we had were excellent and some were very unskilled and sub-par. There was a lot of rework because of shoddy workmanship and repairs causing delays. The overall quality of the remodel was good but only because of our oversight. This project was an expensive nightmare for us and we can't provide a favorable review - AVOID THIS CONTRACTOR! P. S. Dan, the on sight construction lead was phenomenal and without his efforts and the contract we signed, J&J would have been fired early into the project.

He's one of 3 businesses actually licensed in Colorado Springs to do deck work. Not only is he qualified but he also beat the price of every other company I interviewed. He listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered. He replaced 12 joists with pressure treated wood. He built a custom gate with special order locking latch. And just to be a nice guy he removed an old satellite dish that was anchored to the deck. All was completed EARLY despite a random spring snow storm. The paint matched perfectly and they reused old screw holes so that the trexdecking looks like its original install. When I build my dream house, I'm calling Tom to build the deck. His crewmen Jessi and Shane did a super job and I'm very happy. Photo is of the custom gate before it was done being painted. I was just so happy with it I couldn't wait to send a pic to my husband.

We interviewed a total of 3 local deck builders and agreed that Colorado Springs Deck Builders…read more(which is also T Anthony Construction) had the best deal for what we wanted. Although Tom initially came across to us as more of a sales guy, he was very knowledgeable and provided some good ideas and suggestions (ie, size, paint colors, etc), listened to and answered our questions, gave us some time to mull over the contract and ask questions, and left us some composite decking samples. He also automatically included some features that the other guys didn't at the basic price, including CSDB's signature beveled corners. On the city's Regional Building website, Tom's license and insurance status were verified, and we could also see that our permits, submitted plans, and inspection status. Our schedule was bumped to occur two weeks earlier than planned (a great thing for us) as another customer apparently needed to delay their start. As ours was to be a basic 12x16 deck 4' off the ground, he had only two workers show up every day. They parked their equipment trailer in our side yard, and they were courteous and never needed to come into the house for any reason. They also played music, but we couldn't hear it from inside and the neighbors never complained. The reasons for one less star is for three minor things: although they cleaned up nicely after finishing up, we felt there was an abundance of leftover stray nails laying about the yard and every day for week we kept finding new ones; we saw two or three face screws that were missing on the decking, but Tom remedied that on the final walk-through; now one of screws on the railing has come loose in the last week and we'll have to get Tom to come out there to make a quick fix if we can't resolve it ourselves. Other than that, we are still extremely happy with the beautiful deck and happy for the price we paid!
