The owner is unexplainably unprofessional (and I mean blow your mind unprofessional) The place is dirty and a mess. No organization. My dog has a lop-sided cut every single time wether it's on her back or her face it honestly makes you think to yourself "were their eyes closed while they were cutting ??" They don't take their dogs out to do their business because everytime I get my dogs out the door they're scrambling for a piece of grass to use.. (You can clearly tell they haven't been taken out) The price changes everytime I walk in the place... I've paid $38, $40, $44, $48.. She's preforms extra services on my dog and charges me for them even though I've never asked for them or ok'd it. The dogs were dropped off at 8 am and when I got there at 5pm the dogs were STILL not done.. Do they just let the dogs sit in the cages until they feel like working ?? Honestly, we will NEVER go back after how the owner treated us and our dogs.. Maybe someone should put her in a cage and not let her use the bathroom for that long and see if she likes it! read more

Cheaper is not always better!!! Learned this the hard way. We have two dogs, I've taken them to quite a few groomers both in RI and CA where we're from and this is the first place that has taken 5+ hours to groom our dogs....and THEY DONT EVEN DO A GOOD JOB! They are terrible with haircuts regardless of the breed and when they cut their nails, actually, IF THEY CUT THEIR NAILS (sometimes they forget) they don't file them and they are so sharp my pups cut my legs when they greet me at the salon. My dog was left with several bald spots, and they even cut his stomach in more than one spot. The worst part is their customer service!! The owner Helen has no problem screaming at customers even if there are other people around. We dropped our dogs off a little before noon and asked if they could be done by 3:30, after going back and forth with them (and Helen yelling in the background "THEYRE NOT EVEN REGULARS!!") they agreed to have them ready at 3:30. That's almost 4 hours for 2 dogs!!! Only one of which needed a haircut. I'd be fine with them keeping my dogs that long if I picked up my dogs and they looked amazing, but they don't! It looks like they put a blindfold on before cutting my dog's hair. We were once regulars because no one could beat Helen's price ($70 for a deshed on one and haircut on the other) and to be honest the haircut never looked great but our dogs were always happy and comfortable so we knew they didn't harm them. But when we took a month off due to our toddlers newly diagnosed health condition we called to make and appointment and she told us we had to wait SIX weeks. We took the slot anyway because they NEEDED to be groomed. That slot was today, when we picked up our dogs she changed the price from $70 to $95...without any warning!! And they looked worse than ever!! She said it was because it had been too long and they were really dirty (I know for a fact I've brought them in there way dirtier) and we reminded her that the reason we hadn't been in was because they were booked...she started yelling at us saying "YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT JUST PAY $80 AND DONT COME BACK". Of all the terrible haircuts our dog has received from this place we only asked them to fix his cut ONCE! We never complained prior to that. Even when they kept our dogs from 8AM to 5PM!!! I've taken my dog here a couple of times in the past and the service was okay but I noticed they took a long time with my dog. I booked an appointment 3 weeks ago in order to have my dog be by 2 pm so my daughter could pick him up before going to work, and was given a 9 am appointment. I arrived at the shop a little after 9 and the door was locked. So I called and the lady rudely tells me they open at 9. After they unlocked the door, I reminded them that I would be at work and my dog needs him done by 2 pm as requested when booking the appointment and that my dog is not comfortable in a crate. They reassured and told me they would call when he's done. At 1 I received a call saying he wouldn't be ready for 2 as originally planned, and would more likely be ready after three due to, they had other dogs in the facility that required more assistance and having to help the other groomers. I thought she must've confused my dog with another and reminded her I had dropped off my dog at 9 am she went well they need time to adjust and that rushing the process can lead to a negative experience. After asking for more clarity the lady began to ramble on about how they're busy and then says your dog hasn't even been started yet. I answered saying what do you mean he hasn't been started? In which she replied he's been out and he's had treats. At that point, I was completely upset because that means he's been in a crate for 4 hours and that he wouldn't be groomed properly. I told the lady that I was coming to pick up my dog, in which she replied, "Then you're getting him half-shaved then" if you haven't started my dog why would he be half shaved. I arrived at the shop the lady came out from the back the door flew open, she threw the leash and my dog ran out half-shaved as she said. She started rambling on about how I should understand how she runs her business, she's been doing this for 35 years and doesn't want to rush the process for the sake of the dog. I asked if you don't want to rush the process why did you prolong grooming him for so long if you were just going to rush him towards the end? She replied they have other dogs to groom and since he's not comfortable he need time to adjust. I butted in stating that the appointment was originally booked I requested he'd be done by 2 and that at 1 she called me and said he haven't started him yet. She tried saying that when I dropped my dog off there were 7 other dogs already in being taken care of and there are only 4 groomers and trying to say if you take a car to a mechanic they tell you that you'll get your car when it's done and that's I shouldn't expect him to be started once dropped off. Once again I reminded her that I know for a fact that my dog was the first one dropped off considering the door was locked this am, she completely lost it. She started yelling saying that this was the way she runs her business and if I have a problem she doesn't know what to tell me. She continued talking in circles and contraindicating herself. My dog was pulling me to the door and she started sharing personal information and became visibly upset, I responded that I was sorry for her difficult time and that she was clearly stressed, but I don't feel comfortable leaving my dog with someone who is visbily having a difficult time, in which she responded to get out and don't come back and stormed into the back. I didn't pay and I took my dog with me half-shaved covered in hair and went home. I couldn't believe how unorganized, contraindicating, and unprofessional this lady is. I don't understand why someone would book 8 people for the same appointment time if she only has limited groomers working. Being told four hours after dropping him off that you haven't started working on him because you have other dogs tells me you either forgot about him, or you pick and choose which dogs you want to work on. Not once did I receive an apologize, but instead blame for this situation for asking unrealistic expectations and not understanding how she runs the business. Getting my dog half-shaved after being told he hasn't been started yet shows how much she "cared" about him. You should understand that my dog is a member of my family and if I'm concerned about him I shouldn't be told oh well this is how things are. If you truly do care about the dogs and the business you would make a more comfortable relaxed environment. Having a dog sit around for 4 hours with 7 other dogs, stressed-out employees is just prolonging his anxiety. Clearly there are flaws in the current business plan that affect the service but also the groomer herself. She should work on improving the environment of the business so that things run more smoothly and so that her and other staff aren't overwhelmed and can give better service. Lastly, it is absolutely wrong to comitt an act of spite on a harmless animal because she was upset with me. For the sake of the animals, I hope she can make changes. read more
