Lewis Insulation allegedly performed the work, but unfortunately the ice dam issues persisted. In short, we flushed thousands down the drain by going with Lewis Insulation. Xcel energy performed a home energy audit for us after Lewis Insulation performed the work. The Xcel home energy audit revealed that air sealing was missed during the air sealing process. After confronting Lewis Insulation, the team claimed some of these areas were inaccessible. This includes our furnace flue, which gives off a ton of heat in the winter. For those who may not be aware, this is egregious because of how much heat comes off that pipe. At no point did Lewis Insulation inform me that they were unable to air seal specific areas, including the flue. Lastly, they failed to insulate our basement rim joists properly. Check the photos and commentary from Xcel. In short, we paid to have the team air seal our home and help with ice dams. They failed to eliminate the ice dams, and Xcel suggested we get our home air sealed again. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

Buy was I wrong, he did not do a good job of cleaning up after he was done or take any precautions to keep his dust from getting all over in my house. From foot prints to globs of drywall mud all over my concrete floor. I would get it in writing that he will clean up after himself or don't pay until he does. Drywall is inherently dusty when sanded and he made sure to ask that we turn off our HVAC system and any other fans when he was sanding. This helped to prevent getting dust all over our house. Over the past year we have experienced minimal screw pops (some are always expected) and no cracking at corners, ceilings or seams.

It took 5-6 hours on two consecutive days because the machine used to blow in the insulation broke down and the team needed to leave the project site to have it repaired ... ON BOTH DAYS. Outrageous! They also needed to borrow a drill from me when they left their drill "back at the shop." Incidentally, they also did the neighbor's garage across the street. Also taking 2 days and the additional breakdown of equipment. I contacted the sales rep after I received the invoice to make a request for a discount of $150.00 and his reply was, "I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for the use of the drill. ... We cannot reduce the price though. ... We cannot control when equipment breaks down and it is very expensive for us when it does. Again I apologize for the inconvenience." I often times hire smaller local companies and pay my bills promptly. When paying the invoice in full ($2,150), I enclosed a written request with my name address and phone number for the decision maker in charge to consider returning a check to me in the amount of $150.00. Now, 10 days later, no return phone call, no written response, and no check. I would not recommend using this company.

I got quotes from a handful of different HVAC options and ultimately landed with Wilson HVAC for a competitive price for amount of work I needed done and professional-looking website. The guys who came out were great -- likable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. The work took a couple days longer than expected, but they did a fantastic job. My only complaint with Ken Wilson is his poor and unreliable communication. He's impossible to reach. Leading up to the project, during and after, I was (and still am) unable to reach him by phone; the number listed at his website is either disconnected or goes straight to voice message. Sometimes he would call me back, sometimes he wouldn't. Not once could I reach Ken by phone. All documented communication like quotes and bills were by email. The guys who did the work never communicated what time they'd be arriving each day or whether the work had been completed; we'd just wait to see if they showed up the next morning. It's been three months since all the work was completed, and I've still not received the rebates I was due for both gas and electricity, nor can I get ahold of Ken to confirm he submitted them. I still have a remaining balance to pay off; I can't reach him nor has he followed up requesting the final amount. Should I ever have an emergency or need follow-up work done, I'm not sure if or when I'll be able to reach Ken or anyone else with Wilson HVAC. Ken's obviously got great reviews from others, and I'd gladly give him a positive 5-star review on merit of the work done; but be wary trying to communicate with or reach him in a timely or professional manner.
