This is a 24 hour gym with great hours for all types of schedules. They have a ton of staff at any given time. Several people are usually out on the floor at any given time, either repairing cleaning or maintaining the gym. They have several different classes for those who like group classes. It's worth noting that there is a daycare certain days of the week as well as a posing room. The price is very nice given the quality of the gym. One thing I would advise is that there are a ton of pro athletes , competitors, and influencers all who usually have cameras. This gym might be intimidating for a beginner, but the people are very friendly. It's in an industrial area so while the parking is usually packed there is always a spot available. read more

Old school machines, open 24 hours a day. I also have an account at Gold's. this is NOT anything like Gold's. People use chalk. People grunt and throw weights. People use the heck out of the machines. And this is exactly what I expect from this type of gym - people are actively working out, getting pumps in, making gains, etc. It's a bit more aggressive, so I wouldn't recommend if you're insecure or just starting out/learning. But if you know what you're doing, the variety of machines and 24 hour flexibility is AMAZING. Cons: Bathrooms could use updating. The men's room is not pretty. There is no wrist/forearm machine. They have no bands b/c they kept getting stolen. People don't respect the cubbies - I put some stuff in one cubby and someone placed their things in the same cubby as mine. I was mortified, but I learned. At Gold's, the cubbies are sacred - people leave wallets, cell phones, whatever. No issues. Wouldn't do that here. . . read more

I told my brother in law they just opened a Planet Fitness in Stony Brook, wanna meet me? He said to go there first and then come to my gym in Deer Park. Planet Fitness is a nice gym, if you want to do cardo for hours and then work a circuit then you do you. Me? I'm looking for strength training, I need a gym where there are machines that use plates. My brother in law & have been meeting at Pro Fit in Deer Park for a few months now. Here's the reason why this gym is the perfect gym for training: First off, the other members are very nice. My brother in law comes here a lot and knows the regular members. Plus he dead lifts squats over 400lbs so people are always hitting him up for advice. I told him Saturdays are arms and chest for me. (Hey, I have great Sicilian arms) The machines at Pro-Fit are properly maintained and everyone is always respectful when someone needs to jump on one of our machines. The end result? I'm getting pretty diesel and it's been two months. The machines all seem to work well, the staff are freindly and always say hello and goodnight, and the free weights are all intact and work well for what I do. Recently became a member here and love it so far! I had joined this gym Bc it's close to where I live but it's really been so much for me... I'm training for a fitness competition and I have met so many people through this gym that have put me in touch with even more people that have totally been helping me attain my goals! They're never super packed when I go, very early or very late, which is another plus Bc they're open 24 hours for all of you fitness fanatics! I'm sure if you go around prime time 5pm, it will be jammed up in here.. It's a good mix of peeps in here... you have your newbies, your strictly cardio fans, your typical muscle heads and then everyone else in between ! There is always music pumping and it's always a good vibe in here.. and the people that work here have been SO nice. It's good to come to a place where it seems like everyone's super friendly and family oriented; makes people feel more comfortable, this place is not stuck up or boujie, that's for sure. They also have a cute little juice bar for smoothies and all that stuff post work out if you're on the run, there's a fridge with some food and a microwave too if you really need... I really wanted to like the gym but I don't see what all the fuss is about, my main issue is it closes early every snow day or closes completely so I have to end up going to Xsport in Garden city. I had an unpleasant interaction with a staff member at this location. I tried multiple times to reach out to the owner with not luck. This staff member was rude and very dismissive when she spoke. It seems to be that they as an organization don't care about their guests as much as they say. my suggestion is save your money and fine a place that will treat you with respect. read more

Great body building gym! I just started coming here bc I want to expand my workout routine by encooperating more body building style training. They have every weight lifting machine you can image! My membership was revoked because I "improperly used equipment" when doing handstands on the ground...I was then told by management "it's not that kind of gym" and had my membership revoked without warning... personally I believe my membership was revoked because I stopped greeting the gym owner who made me feel uncomfortable. This eventually led to her paying special attention to me at all times in the gym with awkwardly long stares during my workout. Eventually I canceled my membership stating that "Alex (the owner) made me uncomfortable" as the reason..as a result my membership was revoked after the first day when I returned a year later... all in all, the owner is an incredibly awkward and antisocial woman who inherited the gym from her father. read more

I went at 7pm on a Friday night to visit this gym. I'm trying to find a place that meets my needs as I become more advance in my weight training and many people I follow on instagram use this location so I decided to give it a try using the free pass they offered online. When I wAlked In I was greeted by 1 person who worked there who was actually training someone and someone At the juice bar who were so nice. I then went to the locker room which was immaculate considering how busy it was on a Friday night I was impressed. The gym was clean, they had so much equipment available and so much new equipment that my gym doesn't even offer. I had an amazing workout and when I used 2 machines I had never even seen before 2 people who didn't even work there were nice enough to show me how to use them!! If you take your training seriously, or just would like to, Pro Fit is the best gym on Long Island. Pro-Fit has managed to combine all the elements of a "hardcore bodybuilding gym" with a clean, fun, updated and impeccably run health club / fitness facility. It's friendly enough for a beginner and seriously and correctly set up and run for even the most advanced competitors. This is a difficult thing to do in the gym business. The owners of this gym began improving the gym (which was already pretty good) step by step back when they first took over years ago, and they have not slowed down. Gym hours ? It doesn't close. Ever. Now that's dedication by ownership. It's extremely positive to show up at your gym and continually see ongoing upgrades made and new things added. It's fun to train there. It's not just for bodybuilding, Pro-Fit has pretty much everything going on for different types of members. I could write a more detailed review but it's not necessary. Post college graduation I didn't have any place to go, so I moved in with my Nana. Nana lives in Deer Park and has for 22 years. Like me, she considers her time on Long Island a phase, not a statement of who she is, so she would never says she is from Deer park, just as I would never say I'm from Commack or Long Island generally. Hence, I would never say this is my home gym, but this was the first Gold's I went to and despite the fresh look of the brightly colored walls, nothing has changed about the look of this gym since 1998-1999 when I was a member. Actually, I don't think I was ever a member, I could hardly afford it and it's a mile away from the train station. It's a quick minute if you have a car but I didn't which made everything longer than it needed to be including a trip to the gym but I did experiment with this gym many a time on week passes, 21 day trials, etc. Still, not much has changed. They have new treadmills though that make the previous treadmills look like they were created around the same time as the Ford Model T. This gym is home to the original Badda bing guy. Badda Bing guy? Yes Badda Bing guy, cause that's what lots of the guys who utilize this gym are like, every other phrase heard on the floor is "hey, yo Antony, whatcha ya lifting so long for, ya gotta be in here like Badda Bing youse knows what Im saying" and "did you see that honey on the treadmill, man I'd like to get a little badda bing going with her." At first, you are confused, rightly like me because Tony, Antony (pronounced Ant like the bug,then Knee) Mario and Carmine, their all super buff, they come to the gym, hair all gelled, sparkly jewelry around their neck on on the ears, their tan, waxed torsos glistening beneath the fluorescent lights. These guys kiss and hug and you're like "O, it's a gay gym" but no, no these guys are one drink away from beating the hell out of a gay guy so no, they're not gay but o you'd think so. If this wounds like a positive experience, check out this Gold's. O they also can't serve smoothies, they used to, but they can't anymore, seems they never got a food permit and are now waiting for it. Hmmm, ok. read more

Couple of reviews here that don't do it justice in my opinion. This is a great gym. All the circuit training equipment you'll ever need, lots of free weights, numerous benches (decline/incline/standard), 4+ power racks, good classes, spin room. Sauna/steamroom, child care. Friendly and helpful staff. Not everything is brand new, but it's not really old either, and works perfectly fine. People complain about the crowd, but what does that matter really? You get meat heads in most good gyms, that doesn't really change the way you use it. There are cheaper options out there if you don't use all the gym has to offer, but if you do use a couple of the services here it's certainly worth the money. Highly recommended. read more

This is one of the only "real" hardcore bodybuilding gyms left on LI. It's great-nice staff, good lay out of the equipment. The Gold's in East Northport is trying to be a spa. Go to this one if you want a Gold's that is still a real Gold's that still actually caters to people who lift heavy. My "lifetime guaranteed monthly rate" was raised that I paid with a hefty down-payment to get. Quit gym, joined a different one. What kind of bs is that?!? They wouldn't stop billing me either. I had to cancel the credit card since every month they tried to bill me at the higher rate after I canceled my membership. read more

I totally get what Sean S. was saying in his review and from the looks of things nothing has changed since he wrote it a year and half ago. And, they're still not selling smoothies! Last time I was visiting the folks on LI, I discovered that the Gold's in Farmingdale was no longer a Gold's and I also learned the Gold's in East Northport is so far north it may as well be in Connecticut! So, I found myself here today. The gym is fairly large and has a ton of equipment. And, I have to say it was relatively well laid out. I was able to easily move around and in between the various pieces of equipment. However, everything is kinda old and dingy looking. Everything I used worked fine but it just felt a little old & stale in there. But, I give a lot of credit to have a lot of equipment. read more

I was a member of Golds Deer Park from 1995 - 2000. Then I moved to CA in 2000. I remembered Gold gym being large a spacious and the equipment was laid out right. I didn't like the carpet in the locker room, but they have lockers outside the locker room, which most gyms lack. I moved back to NY in 2012 and went back to Golds Deer Park on a Guest pass. The gym felt small and crowded with equipment. I kinda couldn't believe it was the same gym, same building and same space. The equipment is old. The same people are there from 2000. That tells me the gym must be doing something right. It was one of the best gym i joined and worked out in back then. I didn't re-join because now the gym feels small, crowded and out of date. The people at the desk are friendly. The members seem friendly and into their gym routines. I may give it another look and try. I would recommend this gym. I was able to build a great foundation working out this gym from 1995 - 2000. The people are fitness people. I had little complains back then. read more

I like this gym a lot. It has a serious fitness vibe. I'm an older guy trying to stay in shape and this gym has everything I want. Everyone is very nice. The staff and other members. Even when I go to the free weight section where the big boys play everyone is super courteous and respectful. There is top of the line equipment, tons of cardio, and fitness classes and spinning. Men's locker room has a sauna. There is an concession there that sells healthy meals at $5 each. I cant believe how freaking good they are. Way better than what my wife cooks for me. I've been a member at this gym sin e 2005 (when it was still a Golds) over the last year they've really cleaned it up, new equipment, new classes. The staff is great, great hours, they offer shakes and have a health cafe... tanning,nails, sauna, massage therapy. read more

This is hands down the best gym on Long Island. The price is totally affordable and the hours leave you with no excuse to not work out ( even with covid, they're still open later than any other gym in the area.) It never gets too crowded, even prior to covid. It's in a good location, right off the high way with plenty of parking. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable. The food options are always available from protein shakes to preworkout to muffins, anything you want at any time it's available. The people in the gym look soooo intimidating because most people are either professional body builders or hard core gym heads, initially this was intimidating for me but I've learned soooo much since joining this gym a year ago. I've gotten into the best shape of my life and I'm so glad I joined. If you want to transform and sculpt your body, not just "lose weight," this is definitely the gym for you. read more

I absolutely enjoy coming to this gym. I had a gym mebership elsewhere , but i got a job in the morning shift and have school in the afternoons, so i needed a new plan since time wasnt on my side. I got a mebership here since its 24hrs/7 days a week. Its only only DECENT gym in the vicinity thats 24 hours. Great gym , i recommend it to anyone that has a busy schedule and want to get their workout in. Its really great and the enviroment motivates you to not be weak. They've got all you need. i loved this gym and hated to leave it. worked out here at 5 am for over a year and it was the best. friendly staff and awesome members. huge huge lifting floor and great cardio selection with top notch classes. this place has been criticized for the number of meathead lifters who come here, mostly at night. i think that that ads a bit of charm to the joint. if you workout consistently and become a regular you get to know the members. and really, meatheads need love too. read more

Alex, the owner, whom I met recently is super sweet and really understanding so big shout out to her! Also, the gym itself is better priced than most gyms and offers SO much more equipment vs other gyms (will not mention names). The atmosphere is very old school themed so expect to go in there and bust your tail like Arnold did. I have been a member since early 2000. Friendly staff and nice "regulars" who work out. I heard about the "owner drama" but as long as they maintain my monthly rate I don't care. Equipment is good but I don't use the hardcore weightlifting. It's good enough for me. Spin classes are great but wish they had more throughout the week. Linda will kick your butt in spin or the other classes she teaches. Chris is my favorite spin Meister as he plays more rock than the other instructors. Locker room could be cleaner I do not shower there anymore. read more
