My favourite day of the week is LEG DAY...so this is perfect given that i murk my legs each workout..thanks to this gym. My husband and I always visit when we are back in town and to be honest - anywhere we go we try to find a gym just like this one. Not crowded, tons of machines.. and people who are there to WORK OUT. . . I miss ultimate fitness and cant wait to go back once i return from ATL. :) Yeah this gym is expensive, but i rather pay $$ for a gym that has equipment and space than pay 10$ at steve nashs for a shitty gym with bunch of idiots. I hate because i have been there and its nothing but a creep sesh for bunch of roided monkeys. OBVIOUSLY, i rather shell out money for a good place where i know people are there to workout and not creep or chit chat. This is a raw gym - and its good for people looking to gain mass and strength. If you are looking for tvs on treadmills, or if you want some attention then THIS is NOT the gym for you. =) A++++++

They turned a massive warehouse into a workout mecca. There is a massive gym space filled with free weights and machines. In the back o the main floor, they have a whole section for legs. In the front when you first walk in, there is a big section of cardio machines. They have a big screen TV to watch as you do your workout. The gym is fully secure as well. You have to use a key card to enter the fitness area. The locker rooms are fully secure with a shower and private washroom facilities. There is an upstairs section that divides into an ab and stretch area. There is a full boxing area and dance/aerobics/yoga area too. Also, behind closed doors is a woman's only section. I personally don't know what's in there, but I bet it's hot! Sorry... They hve good kids working at the front desk who will cook you an after workout meal or make you a shake. Good place to train. Check it out as a member or a drop in for $5.

When I started I was overweight, out of shape and had days before I started, just recovered from 3 month off work with pneumonia on all sorts of medication for high blood pressure, and living with sleep apnea. At 50 years old now. I've lost over 80lbs of fat, got off all my medications, and am adding lean muscle. www.dougmorneau.com/how-i-went-from-fat-to-an-athletes-body/?SRC=yelp Dean experience with nutrition, food and meal plans as well as supplements has been invaluable. Just look at the two of them. They personally exemplify healthy living and lifestyle. I've always said, if you are going to ask someone for advice, ask someone who has done what you want to do. The fact that they train bodybuilders, and fitness models for competition further proves they are not a one hit wonder. It has not been easy, but I told Dean at the beginning, I'll do what ever it takes and follow his lead, now I'm a living testimony of hiring the right trainers, and putting in the work required to get the results.

This is an excellent concept but a pretty poor execution at this location. First the positives:…read more -the trainers are great. -the concept of hr monitored high intensity group interval type training is great -the equipment is good and clean but a bit cramped together. Why the dismal two stars you ask? Well it's expensive, but that's not why, in fact I would be ok with the $169/unlimited or 139/8 sessions if there were classes available. They keep their prices pretty quiet and don't even tell you over the phone because they want you to come in, so here you have them. The number 1 reason that it's not worth it is that you can't get any classes, they reduced the number of classes a few months ago and are now full with the limited classes that they have. You have to book several days in advance. Plus they keep advertising challenges that encourage you to come in more frequently and pay for the higher unlimited package and once they have your money you realize that you can't even get into any classes because they are all full. So do your homework, if you want to try it, best to check another location and see if the classes of the day have space.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't have signed up otherwise, as their regular price ($160/month) is out of my budget. I attended my first training session this past weekend and I have to say, I was really impressed with their equipment. Everything is very high-end, top-of-the-line and the studio itself is very clean and well-organized, not to mention ORANGE! The music is very high-energy and well-suited to the environment and the workouts. The classes consist of a type of circuit training, where you switch between treadmills, rowing machines and weights/resistance training - and it's all based on your heart rate, which means anyone from beginner through to advanced levels can participate and benefit from the same class. I haven't been to a gym for a really long time (embarrassingly long!) but I was able to keep up and go at a pace that suited me. You're given a heart-rate monitor to wear during the workout and your information is displayed on screens in different locations throughout the studio so you can keep an eye on your progress. If you stay within your 'orange' zone (84% or higher of your maximum heart rate) for 12-20 minutes during each workout, you can burn an average of 500-1000 calories. My instructor, Jahnele, was amazing. She explained everything before we started and after the class, took a few minutes to explain the results on the screens and what it all meant to us as participants. She also said that each workout will vary, so it never gets boring. I'm very excited to start my fitness journey with OrangeTheory!
