So far. I'm loving Steel Mill! Honestly, I never had the desire to do CrossFit. I did an On-Ramp…read moreonce when I was living in LA, but really thought it wasn't for me. Eight years later... It just happens that this gym is walking distance from my house because any further and I know that I just wouldn't go. So... CrossFit it is! :) I still drive there... I decided to join the 6-week challenge and (as I write this review), I think it was the best decision I have made for myself in a long, long time. It's not so scary. The program is fantastic as long as you don't fight the Universe and follow your nutrition plan AND do the workouts. It's pretty darn simple: Do what you're supposed to do and have a good attitude. Trust the process... The best things about this gym are the members, coaches and classes. I can definitely say that this has been the most supportive environment I have ever experienced when it comes to going to the gym. Everyone is genuinely supportive and welcoming from day one. Of course it's because they know the hell you're going through while doing the WODs [Workout Of The Day] and struggling through the skills they teach here as a newbie or someone who hasn't worked out consistently (like me) in a good damn while. Perhaps misery loves company? Perhaps, but I think we all enjoy the endorphins...afterwards. I have never seen any judgement here and there are all kinds of people with many shapes, sizes and physical backgrounds that come to this box that will cheer you on to finish that last rep. Really pretty cool and motivating. In addition, they offer plenty of class times and a full gym area complete with machines, weights and all sorts of fun toys to get your butt back into shape. It does get better... Overall, if you're on the fence about joining this CrossFit gym - I would recommend trying the 6-Week Challenge whenever they offer it to see what it's all about and commit to that. I know I had to read reviews on Yelp for over a year to finally decide on coming to this location. Hey. That might be you. Who knows? But I can tell you that I love the coaches who teach at this location and that can make all of the difference in the world. Good humans. Check 'em out!

Love this gym! I…read morefound out about them via a sponsored Facebook ad. They were doing a 6 week challenge: lose 20 pounds or 4% body fat. It was just the kick start I needed to move the plateau. They have about 6 full time coaches on staff. Each class has 2 instructors. You do a 5-10 minute warmup, the coaches go over the exercises for the day then you get started! The workouts vary from cardio, strength, or blended. They are about 40 minutes and you get an all over workout. If you're a gym member, which I am as after only 3 weeks on the challenge, I realized how much I love it, they have ~quarterly fun events. I saw people in the center but no one came to the door. I called my granddaughter who had been there before and asked her how to do it. She said pull up your account and scan your ID under the scanner -located off to the right (not visible unless you are looking for it). I was trying to do that when a person came to the door and was snappy with me telling me that I needed to add it to my apple wallet. I did, she closed the door and left me to scan in. I scanned in and walked in to see several people that had been watching me struggle to get in. Definitely not a friendly welcome. I went and did Cardio - the place appears dirty, ventilation is poor which leads to a bad smell. Treadmills are older. I never made it to the weight area. It looked like they had what you would need. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I waited at the front counter to be checked into the massage area, but no employee ever came to assist. At one point, several other members were also standing there waiting, and eventually everyone just gave up and walked away. Time was extremely important because I had to get home, shower, and log into work by 8:30 AM, so I ended up having to leave without being able to use the service I specifically pay extra for. I enjoy working out at Planet Fitness, but better front desk coverage and member support--especially during busy morning hours--is definitely needed. Paying for upgraded amenities that are inaccessible is frustrating and disappointing.

Also, I have no idea why they put that strange box around the water station -- it used to look clean and nice, now it just feels out of place and awkward.
