I have no problem giving a 5 star review for this carpet installation but this could have easily…read morebeen a 2-3 star review if not for Sharee and the people at Floor Coverings International (FCI). The initial home consultation with Paul was great. He had tons of samples and showed us many options and gave recommendations based on our needs. There was never any pressure to buy and he spent quite a bit of time going over the whole process and answering all our questions and concerns. We decided a few days later to go with FCI based on our meeting and the fact that their prices were competitive with the other quotes we received. Then things turned South. We were told it would take about 2-4 weeks to get the carpet from the factory. After a month, they contacted us and said that the factory was still back ordered and it would be another month. They were very apologetic and ended up removing the cost of moving the furniture from our bill. The carpet order finally arrived and we were set up for an install on November 3rd. The installers came out and had most of the old carpet ripped out and the new carpet pad laid and started to bring in the new carpet. They started to unroll the carpet and lo-and-behold - not the carpet I ordered! I took pictures and called Erick and explained the situation. He was very sympathetic to our situation and even offered a good discount on this carpet if that was an option for us. It was a nice carpet but we were set on getting the carpet we ordered so declined the offer. We had to live for a month on our 1st floor with only carpet pads for flooring. Not fun! They reordered the carpet and installed it on December 5th. The installation went without a hitch and the carpet looks great. Here's the best part. Sharee negotiated with Shaw Carpets and got them to pay for half of the cost of the carpet. Even though this whole situation had nothing to do with the people at FCI, they offered to cover the cost of the other half. How great is that? Would I recommend this company to my friends and family? You bet! If I need more carpet or flooring in the future you can be sure that they'll be the first ones I call. Thanks Sharee and Erick! It was great doing business with you.

After a brief difficulty communicating what I wanted from our out-of-state move, their team of four young men came from GR to IL to pack us up and move us. Jayden called just before they were to come--that communication was extremely helpful, reassuring. Their team was open to working with the local woman who had been helping me get ready. The packing was appropriate. They kept VERY detailed inventory. Everything came thru safely. After arriving, when I couldn't find one valuable art item , Jayden made a separate trip over to help me find it. And he went above and beyond (on Ebay) to replace a special drinking glass that broke (and isn't made anymore). Frankly, the post-move help has been as helpful as the move itself! My only complaint has been that the boxes were not as well-labeled as I would have liked (I know that takes them extra time during packing, but . . . ). And heavy boxes got stacked too high in the new garage for me to handle. Again, Jayden and his team responded to my requests for help with this issue. All in all, we were well cared for and appreciate their hard work, from owner Jeanne Jones, to office staff, to Jayden and his team, to additional staff who helped unpack. Thank you all!

I think the team that was sent out had every intention of getting the job done well. And, skills wise they seemed pretty competent. But, there were timeline issues that delayed things, and there was a supervisor who introduced himself at the start of the job - but seemed absent after that. I had to make a few corrections to the build as it was happening because it didn't seem like everyone on the team knew the plan. I will add that Nieko was attentive. When I couldn't get the supervisor on the job I did reach out and share some concerns with Nieko and he made sure they were taken care of. In the end, we are happy with the fence - and that's the litmus test in my book. It simply seemed like there were some organizational and leadership things that were being worked out. Would I hire them again - yep. However, I would probably work hard to make sure Nieko was involved as much as possible.
