The place itself is super nice, it's one of the coolest looking tattoo places I've ever been in, and the people there are generally really nice. The girl who tattooed me was awesome and people made you feel welcome and all, it was a great experience! And they do seem super hygienic so I trust that, and their aftercare seems great too, so I've heard.

He first tattooed me in 1997 whilst he was serving his time working for another local artist,and since then nobody else has been allowed near my body with ink filled needles or piercing implements of doom.... His apprentice Abi is pretty damn talented too,and the lucky woman has a tattoo by world reknown artist Paul Booth on her hand!!! The actual studio itself is warm and welcoming and seriously friendly.Rob being the type of artist who likes a challenge,he is happiest when he can get his teeth into a bit of custom work. I basically gave him the letters ZOMBI and my forearm and said come up with something. He did,and pretty soon I will have a lovely Zombi tatt to show people who probably have no interest in my arm at all : ) A word of warning though,Rob is a busy man,you generally have to make an appointment to get a tattoo from him,Abi on the other hand, being the apprentice often has more free/spare time. That is how you can generally tell how good a Tattooist is,if you can walk right in off the street and get a tatt done then they are doing something wrong,a good Tattooist is usually booked up for a few months at least (Cancelations not withstanding). You can't beat a good Tattoo,and not many Artists can beat Border Rose......

I visited on the morning of my 40th birthday to see if I could be squeezed in for a little birthday ink. James was on the desk and although all of the artists were fully booked for that day took my number and said he would see what he could do. Lo and behold a few hours later I got a call, jumped in the car and got my birthday tattoo done by James. I love the vibe in Border Rose, even if you are not a personal friend, you soon feel like one. It's always spotlessly clean, professional and a fun place to hang out whilst your other half gets some pain delivered! Go get tattooed there, I dare ya!

Dai is a great tattooist and an all round nice guy, they have a lot of flash or if you prefer you can discuss an idea with Dai and he'll draw up a custom piece for you. Michelle does the piercing, she also has her own line of Custom corsets with embroidered tattoo imagery, the front of the shop is full of jewellery, body jewellery, fascinators, and other bits and pieces from their travels- If you need an alternative gift you should definately have a look in one of the many display cabinets! There is a bit of a waiting list and you will have to pay a deposit, but it's worth the wait! Very clean and very professional.

Liquid Ink has been open for around eight months now, and as I regularly pass the shop when taking…read moremy son to nursery, I did not fail to notice that for such a new venture there is always someone in the shop either having a consultation or getting an actual tattoo! So I am not in the least bit surprised that I thought I should pop in and get one of the artists to have a look at a new design I have been working on. I spoke to Wayne who was happy to take my design and redraw it into a transfer ready for being placed on my upper thigh! he said needed a day to do it, when I went back the next day he had worked wonders with my initial design and made it look fantastic! I still have not gotten round to having the tattoo put on, but I will definitely be getting it done here. I felt like the staff here treat each customer very professionally and in a way that sets them apart from other parlours, the shop itself looks more like a posh Japanese boutique and nothing like your usual bikers joint!
