I attended a gathering at the Grass Valley Park/lake adjacent to the lodge and golf course. This is…read morea review of the park. The grassy areas were well kept. The bathrooms were clean , and yes they flush , not a portable potty. There is a small play area for kids and some benches with Barbecues. If you need the code for the gate the lodge will provide. If you are a local, contact the ALA . You can fish here, but there are signs everywhere saying do not eat what you catch and NO swimming. There are pretty foul life such as ducks and some geese , but the fish don't look so good . I saw at lease 5 dead catfish and 3 carp fish floating on the water. The water is very murky and dirty looking. It didn't smell though, and there was no trash in it. So the lake is look but don't touch status.

They even offer a plethora of classes for really young children so they can begin learning the terminology and discipline of dance while having fun (and dressing up in tutus!) It is so rare to find such a high caliber of dance education in a small town like this. If you are thinking of getting your son or daughter into dance, you should send them to this studio because it's not just an excellent dance school, it's also a supportive, loving community that will encourage your child to grow in more ways than one! Sharon, the director, mostly teaches ballet. She is very attentive and extremely technique oriented. Everywhere else that I've danced, in college etc., my teachers always ask who I trained with and they compliment me on my exceptional technique! I have Sharon to thank for that! Eli teaches ballet, modern, and jazz. He's hilarious and very unique, I highly recommend his classes for the more advanced dancer that wants a challenge! He always surprises and delights me with his awesome, and sometimes crazy, choreography! Josh teaches Hip Hop. His classes are always full because he's such a fun, high energy teacher! His choreography appeals to everyone because he draws on a lot of pop influences that infuse his style of hip hop. I myself have danced here for 20 years (yikes!) and I truly believe it gave me a strong work ethic, a strong sense of self, and amazingly strong calves to boot! I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Their prices are very reasonable even if you are not a member but becoming a member is very inexpensive and totally worth it. My son enjoyed the summer day camp so much. It had great programs everyday that kept him so busy and they even gave him the courage to jump into the 4 feet at the pool and learn how to swim even better than he was before coming. When they had to discipline him, they were fair about it and respectful. I appreciated that very much especially since my son loves to get in trouble. ___ The gym aspect of the Highland YMCA is great too. Their Zumba classes are jam packed but so fun. The trainer kept the class moving and exciting. The schedule is full of group classes that I look forward to trying. They are going on all day and all night which is great for working people. Always friendly front desk staff that are ready to go above and beyond helping their guests!!!! I do love the Redlands Facility way more but living closer to the Highland one, I have grown to love them too.

Especially the lovely ladies that work in the children's room/ childcare center. This Y keeps rasing their membership price but with no changes. No new machines or anything to justify the price increases. As it's went up 3 times already. We even kept paying during covid even though it was closed. Pretty much donated our $$$ to them for over 3 months. Didn't even get a Y T shirt or anything lol. We love the YMCA's as we have been members since we were kids in San Diego ca and Los Angeles Ca. Our kids are Y babies from Downey Ca. We really thought we'd be members for life but I'm just not sure if we're going to keep our membership. As we pay full price and there are a lot of other gyms with lower prices.
