Got a 2 step tattoo with my son's name and birthday. He did a wonderful job. Went back to have his date of death. I told tim my son passed August 19h. Instead of putting 8/19, he put 9/19 . The tattoo looks like an amateur did it. When I returned for him to make the 9 look like an 8, he yelled the whole time he tried to fix it. He even called me stupid 2 times. I'm sure if I had been a male he would not have treated them like that. He is very unprofessional when he makes a mistake. read more

Walked in yesterday around 5pm with a friend from out of town. We wanted a friendship tattoo, and only had a half of an idea planned out, and a bad one at that. Chad, our tattoo artist, showed us incredible patience and kindness while taking his time going over different ideas that would be better than our original. The time he took making sure we walked out happy and satisfied is beyond a level of professionalism that I expected. "Greeted" with terrible customer service. When i asked simple questions that any knowledgeable shop owner should know, i was greeted with hostility. For example, what style do you specialize in? The response i received was "Look it up on Instagram." We were also told that walk ins haven't been allowed due to covid, but the reviews from the past couple months show otherwise. Went to get my nipple pierced here, Jake and Billy are wonderful and regular customers at my job. Jake did the piercing and was helpful and calm about the whole thing. He did a great job and I love it. He is doing my other one soon and an upcoming tattoo. Great set up for the shop and everything is very clean. The guys are really cool and relaxed. Great place, always recommend. ALL PIERCING ARE $30 except for industrial because those are two piercings. Those are $40. Perfect job on everything. UPDATE: got my other nipple pierced and it looks perfect and it's lined up great. Also got my tattoo done and he traced a picture I sent him and then hand drew the feathers out in sharpie on my back. The outcome is nothing short of perfect. It looks great and he eventually wants me to come in so he can do some highlighting on the feathers. We were time crunched and managed to put what should have been at lest a 4 hour tattoo into a 2 and a half hour gap and it still turned out perfect, I really couldn't be happier. read more

I used to go here once a week. They give me my jewelry free because I am a good customer. They are nice and professional. Free touch ups for life in tats. I got a nose piercing. I'll start by saying the piercing was actually not very painful. It just felt like someone flicked my nose really hard which wasn't even the issue. The issue was that the guy who pierced it didn't prep the area at all. He didn't use an alcohol wipe or anything to prep. He also used an actual sharpie to mark where I wanted it which was super weird to me cuz that's a permanent marker. They also only offer hoops. No studs. I thought it would be okay but with daily mask wearing, the hoop kept getting moved around and it started to get infected; even though I took care of it and cleaned the area regularly. Not just the fact that it was a hoop right out of the gate, but the gauge of the hoop was really big and I was not expecting it to be. Lastly, the guy told me only to clean it with soap and water which also was wrong because saline solution is the best piercing cleanser so I don't know why he just said soap and water. I had to take the piercing out after just one week and was really disappointed and essentially wasted my money. I suggest going elsewhere for a nose piercing. read more

I've been looking for somewhere to go for my first tattoo and ended up going the next Saturday, 7/12. I got there at 10:30, half an hour before the doors open, since they don't do appointments on weekends (walk-ins only is appreciated!). There were people already waiting. Chatting with them, Matt was recommended to me, but I had my heart set on Dan. Dan was really great; he listened to me and what I wanted, offered suggestions on size and how the finished piece would look if he did things certain ways (I got a stonework triquetra on my back). He even paid attention to how I wore my hair and made suggestions based on that. Once we got in there, he was done with my tattoo in about 45 minutes. He did wonderful work and gave great advice on how to care for my new ink. My family loved my new tattoo so much, my sister asked me to take her in for her first the very next Friday. When we arrived, Dan was unavailable but he came out and saw my sister and I and checked how my tattoo was healing. He suggested Matt and remembering Matt's glowing recommendation from the other people in line my first time, we went with him. He put my little sister at ease and really honored the old school line work she wanted in her tattoo (an Eeyore from the old Christopher Robin books). He was done in 12 minutes and we couldn't have been happier. read more

if you call they'll say they have space but keep you waiting 30+mins. My friend and I went in for piercings, me a septum and her a belly button. Mine was super painful which I was confused bc I was told it would hurt at all and the pierced but in a HUGE UGLY HORSESHOE without showing me... after I saw it I honestly wanted to cry. (I did cry after the piercing went through) fast forward a week later.. my friends belly is super red and crusty, she even told me that it hurt her to wear high waisted jeans and I went somewhere else to look for jewelry and at that place the girl took one look up my nose and asked if it had hurt. I told her yes and she proceeded to tell me they had pierced it wrong and that's why it had hurt so much. She said if I left it in it would take longer than normal to heal and jewelry would fit a bit weird. So now I had to take it out and go somewhere else to get it redone... just don't go here. They were extremely professional and knowledgable, and the staff was notably very polite. The tattoo is absolutely perfect. The set up of the studio is also very nice- it's, well, private. One of my worst tattoo experiences. I tell all my friends and loved ones to avoid this place and head over to art of attatooed or lucky seven because this place is the equivalent to getting permanently scribbled on by a 4 year old. I had some asshole chubby dude with a beard tattoo me unfortunately. He was constantly an asshole and very rude about my tattoo design and kept telling me to hurry up. He rushed through the design and sped through the execution of the tattoo itself. To this day I am so disappointed because this was a tattoo that was supposed to very special but instead was butchered by some old freak with a dead pool and anime obsession. I always try to hide this tattoo until someone else can do a cover up. read more

A couple weeks ago I woke up and my nose piercing was coming out so I just took it the rest of the way out. I just got it done in June and it was my first time taking it out and I didn't really know how to get it back in on my own. I was up visiting my cousins later that day in Libertyville and we found Private Ink (which was really nearby). I explained the situation and right away they said "We don't use this kind of stud because it can break the skin but i can give you one that looks the same thats much better for you and easier to work with for $5." They explained everything and it seemed like they knew their stuff and they replaced it right then and there and were really nice. Dan did it for me and handled three teenagers asking excessive random questions quite well. He was cracking jokes and made us feel quite comfortable. My cousin ended up going back there a couple days later to get a cancer survivor tattoo on her ankle which turned out AMAZING! Thanks, Dan! read more

I've gotten 2 tattoos done here, both of which I'm pretty happy about. They were really polite and funny, overall it was a pretty good experience. This was until I decided to get a piercing here. I don't remember his name, but the guy who pierced me was very unprofessional, did not make me feel comfortable at all and in the end, it didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about. He told me that my piercing would take 4-6 weeks to heal, but when I did my research when I got home, it's much closer to a few months. And to make matters worse, he never told me how to clean it. I would have never decided to see this piercer if I knew how unprofessional he was. read more

I went to go get my nose pierced and was excited that it only costs $30, so I get it pierced only to find out that Mike decided not to tell him that it was a giant hoop with a ball on it, some people can work this but it isn't my style. So I polietly ask him to take it out and he responds in a nasty tone that he can't refund me etc and I didn't care I just really wanted it out. After he took it out he decided he'd give me a refund told me to let my nose heal and call back in a few weeks after he got a shipment of studs in. I waited a few weeks, called him back and he told me again in a nasty tone to call back the following week. I call back today and it turns out that they aren't getting the shipment and he won't re-pierce it. Basically, the guy lied to me telling me that he would re-pierce it and now he won't. Honestly, it wouldn't have bothered me so much if he were a little more polite about it, he kept on giving me this attitude and I felt like he was talking down to me, so Mike if your reading this, thanks for ruining my experience. read more
