From our first session, Shannon approached me with kindness and genuine curiosity. During our time together, she guided me into the inner reaches of my body and mind with patience, openness, and compassion. I had never tried hypnotherapy before my sessions with Shannon. In fact, I went in as a skeptic, but I found Shannon's approach to be powerful and grounded in deep truths. More insights were revealed to me in my couple of months with Shannon than I'd uncovered in the combined years of talk therapy that I've done in the past. Forget what you think you know about hypnotherapy, and take the leap. With Shannon, you're in good hands.

This was my first time doing hypnotherapy so I was a bit nervous to start, but Shannon did a great job explaining to me the process of hypnotherapy and listened intently to what I wanted to work on. After doing a series of sessions with her, I have noticed myself feeling less weighed down by the feelings of sadness and frustration that were so constant for me, and instead moving towards happiness and living the life I want to live. I feel happier day-to-day and more resilient on my hard days. Ultimately, working with Shannon has changed my perspective on life and allowed me to connect with parts of myself I was not even aware of. Shannon is the real deal!

It was a super ugly divorce and the idea of going back to court was terrifying. Kelly is a straight shooter. She gave us a blunt opinion about our odds of success (50/50), looked for ways to settle outside of court and when the other side pushed and got nasty she stood her ground and pushed back hard. All attorneys are expensive and going to court always costs a ridiculous amount of money. Kelly is not cheap but her hourly rate is quite reasonable compared to other attorneys I called in Marin. Also she is fair about billing. Our total cost was just under $4200, the other side was over $9000! When I met with her initially to review the case we talked for an hour and 15 minutes. I had sent her the settlement agreement and several other documents which she read and reviewed before our meeting. She only charged me for one hour! That was more than fair. It just gives you an example of the kind of lawyer she is, she's not all about driving up the billable hours, she charges what is fair. We were also impressed with her experience and knowledge. It is so important to have an attorney who has practiced in your county for a long time. When we asked if we could file for sanctions because the other side wasn't cooperating with discovery she told us that the judge on our case almost never awards sanctions and may be upset that we asked for them. A less experienced attorney or one who hasn't been before these judges often might have steered us wrong. It really pays to have someone who has practiced in the area for more than 10 years.

He agreed to handle my case when a number of other attorneys wouldn't help me because my assets were tied up by my wife's initial filing. His expertise and integrity guided me through the process in a way that enabled me to protect my assets while preventing my ex from making legal mistakes that would have harmed us both. He defended my interests vigorously while also trying to salvage the relationship with my parents and my ex. I am truly grateful for the help and guidance he provided during a very dark and confusing time and admire the way he was able to put my interests first while also considering the relationships involved. His fees were more than reasonable and he always made it a point not to do more than necessary to keep my bills lows. His integrity is beyond question and his experience extensive. I couldn't have chosen a better advocate and cannot recommend him enough.

Over 15 years ago my wife filed for divorce and locked up all my finances. I called almost every divorce attorney in Marin, all of whom required large retainers before they would talk to me. In desperation, I asked for recommendations and was referred to David. He found my case interesting and decided to take it on and we were able to work out the finances. His first move was to free up my bank account and allow me to breathe. We then went on to stabilize my living situation and to negotiate with my soon-to-be-ex and her attorney. The divorce took a while but throughout the process, David helped me to keep a level head, focus on the best solution and get through the painful process. He was firm but fair to my ex, extremely protective of my interests and more concerned about his billing to me than I was. I will be forever grateful for his help and support and consider myself very lucky to have found him. He is certainly one of the best divorce attorneys you will talk with and has an excellent reputation with his colleagues and the courts. I consider him a friend and an ongoing resource and call him sometimes just to catch up. I highly recommend David for his professionalism, his character and his integrity.

If you don't know who that is, watch the movie Erin Brockovich (2000) starring Julia Roberts. If money wasn't an option, I'd still hire Kriss FIRST before I would an attorney, or at least ask her for a referral first if I needed to work with a good one - just my opinion. I'm sure she has a good team and only works with the best. Personally though, I think she would be a great attorney, if she was one. I've hired a lot of Attorneys and although she is NOT a Lawyer, Kriss Miranda is the best paralegal and is better than a lot of attorneys I've hired in the past for these reasons: 1) She gets a lot more done and quickly. She communicates well. She does detailed, quality work. 2) Kriss always responds quickly. I've had so many attorneys that don't even have time for me or are too busy and they don't email you or call you back, etc. I've had some attorneys to where I had to chase them down just to get status of my case, or a simple update. I'm sure Kriss gets busy, but at least she is really great at returning inquiries, and gives the time to listen to me and issues I may have, even late after business hours and weekends too, just to get the job I need done! 3) Kriss pays attention to the details. To get the level of attention to detail Kriss does naturally, you usually have to hire an entire law firm, or at least multiple attorneys / lawyers. I know this from experience. Again - to get an idea - watch the movie Erin Brockovich. 4) Kriss is really good at research and asking the right questions, she is personable and can trust her by my side and can point me in the right direction. What I mean is that having Kriss is like having a sister in your corner. It's not that she'll lose control or will throw chairs in the courtroom - what I mean is that she'll be passionate and emotionally invested to see you get the best possible outcome. 5) Kriss is honest. Although she can't give you legal advice, she'll make sure the papers get done correctly, and tell you straight up / flat out what the range of possibilities could be if rules aren't followed correctly. Read the other 5 star reviews. There was one recent review I don't agree with (hopefully it gets removed) - because the yelper wasn't even her client. Yelp is for clients and actual customers, not for people who are sore just because they lost and she won against them. But I guess it goes to show she was successful in winning that situation. It literally took me days of calling nonstop to find a good lawyer - and somehow found Kriss instead, I'm so glad I did. If you want someone super smart and passionate like Erin Brockovich - and you want them to care about you like family - you'll get Kriss Miranda in your corner.

But admittedly for divorce/mediation attorneys I am. However, I have never worked with an attorney who made so many mistakes, both from the perspective of mistaking the law in one instance, to typos in legal documents, to version control issues of documents, to mistakes on the final MSA. All these errors required additional attorney time and cost. She has seemingly little understanding of taxes, finance, time value of money, basic concepts of money in my opinion (pretty important when it comes to dissolution of community property). She was biased. My ex agreed. I understand people are human, but if she is having a problem she should remove herself. I was negotiating more with her than my ex. My ex-wife agrees with this comment. We stuck with it until the end due to both of us wanting to get this over with and it's really not rocket science to prepare an MSA if both parties fundamentally can work most things over. My personal attorney-counsel couldn't believe the work-product I was showing him during the process. He looked her up to confirm she had a law degree! During her term she filed nothing with the court. My own attorney, who trained with her as a parenting coordinator pointed out where Mary was remiss. My time and money (including trips to Marin to meet in-office) were wasted. Speaking of trips, Mary loves her vacations and her offices are closed on Fridays - something parents who think parenting coordinators actually work should know before entering into a 12-24 month term. I'm sure she's sore - she was corrected by two of her contemporaries for her shoddy work. Not as sore as me, this circus cut into my savings. Attorneys do have an overseeing board so Mary might want to resolve with me directly before trying to silence me, because I will go right the the SF Bar Association with that other deleted review, maybe I'll bring Matt. Have a glass of fresh collateral, Mary - you ordered it. Mary did winnow out that my daughters father would loose interest in parenting her, but she did so cryptically and from a gmail, rather than her professional account - or in a filed document with the courts. Had she done her job, I would have had a smoother path to my freedom from family court constants. She simply didn't do the job she was retained to do, This was not therapy, I was not there to be heard, I was there to retain my rights to parent my daughter, something I have 100% control over now that I don't have Mary among the coterie of attorneys it has taken to unwind the spaghetti she and her contemporaries threw all over my walls, hoping something would stick. I stuck.

I will say Mary is a nice person and easy to talk with, thinking she could empathize, and that is what sold me, but that was a big mistake on my part. Initially I hired Mary as mediator, but then hired her as a parental coordinator. Without warning, when agreeing to her as PC, she canceled the mediation contract which had unfinished business and there was nothing I could do about it. When working with her as parental coordinator I often found myself waiting days, if not weeks for an answer on a topic that kept me up nights only to find out once I finally got a hold of her she was on vacation--which was often. At one point she miscalculated spousal support which ended up costing me and I didn't get so much as an apology, and she did nothing about it because, to use her words "I don't keep notes". How can you keep track of things without taking notes? Even worse, at times when she made decisions she gave no rationale as to why, you were simply stuck with it. Possibly the worst part of working with her is when my ex-wife accused me of punching furniture in Mary's office which I definitely did not do. I had to ask Mary repeatedly if she believed this. It took over 6 months of discussion for her to finally say "no, you did not punch any furniture in the office at any time". Over those 6 months she told me she didn't recall. How could you NOT recall a scenario like that? I felt like I was on crazy pills during that time. I worked with Mary for 2 years bound by a contract I couldn't get out of unless my ex-wife agreed to it (how convenient), so if you're going to sign anything with Mary please think twice before proceeding. In fact, I suggest you look elsewhere. Also, if you wish to reach out with questions please do so.
