THE LAST NAME BRAND FUEL STATION ON EASTBOUND LAKE MEAD PARKWAY…read more North Shore Drive and Lake Shore Drive are the country roads that take me to the place where I belong: The Lake Mead National Recreation Area. To enjoy the country roads and hiking trails of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, I need to be supplied with both car and human fuel. Lately I have been fueling up at the Terrible's Chevron off of Lake Mead Parkway at Pawnee Lane. If anything I strive to emphasize in this review, it is that as of April 30, 2015 ; this is the LAST name brand fuel station on eastbound Lake Mead Parkway before Lake Las Vegas and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This is really the Last Chance Gas Stop. This Terrible's Chevron is not terrible. It features three fuel islands with decent room for cars to maneuver. The only thing is that many of the cars fueling up here are towing boats. This leads into the fact that this is a Chevron that is popular with the Lake Mead boating community. I usually see boat owners in the convenience store buying fuel for their boats or fuel in the form of beer for a good time on Lake Mead. The convenience store is a grand size shop that offers the conveniences of an ATM, snacks, hydration, and necessary commodities. Before my adventures out on the country roads and trails of Lake Mead, I stock up on hydration. I usually purchase two 32-ounce bottles of Power Ade Zero with a 44 ounce Coke fountain beverage. The Freestyle Coke machine offers over 100 varieties of Coke beverages. I fill my cup with Glaceau Fruitwater. I have come to the conclusion that this is the perfect beverage to start off an adventure. When I first pour it into the cup until several minutes later, it is a refreshing berry tasting sparkling beverage. As it warms up in the sun, it changes into a warm Crystal Light tasting beverage. When I fill up here in the Spring of 2015, my eyes glance at a landscape in transition. Currently I could see across the Valley to the Strip. This is changing as bulldozers turn this desert into the Cadence Master Planned Community. When my eyes look at the edge of the property, they see the Lake Mead Parkway Trail which in effect also makes this Chevron a bicyclist and pedestrian stop. Generally speaking I rate this Chevron three stars. However, if you are headed into the Lake Mead National Recreation Area nearing empty on car and people fuel, you'll most likely rate a stop at the last name brand fuel station on Lake Mead Parkway before the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Lake Las Vegas five stars.

Notouch Only 1 location Monthly plan Wash breaks down Overall the monthly plan is a great deal. I use the touch less car wash and I'm only aware of one location. Some times it's broken and unavailable, so I'll have to use a do it yourself car wash and pay the extra cash. This doesn't happen often. Also, the only way to purchase a monthly plan is at a full service car wash site. These are limited and they all close at 5:00 PM. I still like the service and the touch less wash does a decent job cleaning the car.

Heads up! This is the last fuel station and convenience store before Lake Las Vegas and the Lake…read moreMead National Recreation Area. This location seems to be recently added to Yelp. I say this because I have been here quite a few times in the past on the way to Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Lake Las Vegas area adventures. The Lake Mead Parkway at Olsen Street Chevron/Terribles represents more than fuel. It also represents water. The premises feature a touchless car wash, which is my car wash of choice. If I lived close by, I'd probably be checking-in more. There convenience store represents water in bottled water, Gatorade, colas, fountain beverages, and other drinks. From my experiences this is the perfect place to hydrate before and on nearby hiking adventures. Even better than the CVS across Lake Mead Parkway. It is connected to the Lake Mead Parkway Trail which connects to the River Mountains Loop Trail and to Wetlands Park via the Wetlands Trail Connector. Last week when I was hiking back from Wetlands Park, I became very thirsty (I ought to write a list on businesses that rehydrated me on long hikes). Walking from the Wetlands Connector Trail towards Cadence there were zero convenience stores until I got to Chevron/Terribles. Chevron/Terribles was a convenience store mirage in a food desert. I made a beeline for the Cole Freestyle machine. For less than $2, I rehydrated with a large Fanta strawberry Zero fountain drink outside at the shadeless picnic table. On account of the fact that it is the last fuel station/convenience store on the way to Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Lake Las Vegas, and the service and presentation is solid; I am rounding up my rating to Four Stars. This business has come through for me before and most recently on a hiking adventure.

I called and spoke to Brett who was very genuine, professional, knowledgeable, kind and patient in answering every question- and I had a lot! He really knows his stuff, and explains things in a way that is understandable. I felt well educated on the service, even detailing in general, and felt comfortable about my decision. He also quoted the work at a really fair price, upon comparison, and was not at all pushy about what I would choose. After much deliberation and discussion about what suited my car's needs, I decided to go forward with a Level 1 paint correction. Brett was able to work in my garage since the process uses a rinseless wash, which was so convenient. When the work was done, he gave me the chance to look over every nook and cranny to make sure I was completely satisfied with the results. My car looked good as new!

However, my last four visits have been incredibly disappointing due to an employee named Micho(THIS IS HIS NICKNAME) It feels like he is only focused on getting tips rather than doing quality work. I pay $30 for a wash, and while he spends 20 minutes wiping down the vehicle, the results are terrible. He consistently misses spots, leaves debris on the floor, and only details the driver-side rims while completely neglecting the passenger side. My husband has had to reclean the car after our last four visits. As someone who works in a tipping industry, I highly value customer satisfaction and usually tip very generously. I still tipped Micho, but his careless work honestly does not deserve it. I love this business, but management needs to address this employee's performance. P.S the other employees do a great job. I will make sure I only go to them.
