The design and floor plan of this house was one of the best layouts we've seen and a big reason we went through with the home purchase. The original owner however never closed out the work permits with the GC that he used, so Arnold and his team helped me navigate a very cumbersome NYC DOB electric, gas and construction approval process so I could obtain the final CO. Arnold and his team were communicative and guided us along the way. Appreciate their help closing it out and would recommend them!

During that period we consulted with Arnie roughly three to four times on the things we'd need to get done (including an extensive asbestos abatement) without charging us a dime. When we were ready to go into contract, Arnie and his team helped us design an absolutely beautiful project that included an upgrade to every facet of our home. Shortly thereafter COVID hit and our project was significantly delayed. We were, however, lucky that Arnie and his amazing staff availed themselves during business and non-business hours to advise us on a variety of issues from navigating the DOBNOW webpages to reasonable locations to get quartz countertops. No project is without obstacles and between energy efficient windows and the skyrocketing price of wood, we DEFINITELY had our fair share. We can definitely attest that Arnie, Celia and their professional and knowledgeable staff made the navigation of those pitfalls a LOT easier. We can say in no uncertain terms that we highly recommend the use of AMPM for your next construction project. Thanks Arnie! Mr & Mrs. Jones

I saw a passive house he was gut renovating in Park Slope, and it was absolutely stunning! Jim knows how to preserve historic details while bringing the design into the modern era in a tasteful, classic way. He exudes calmness and wisdom and is a pleasure to be around. Full disclosure in that I ultimately had to choose a less experienced architect because Jim's fee, although completely reasonable given his level of skill and expertise, was a bit out of our price range.

Jim is very detailed and each week during renovation, we had him manage the project with the contractor to ensure the final output was done properly. Most Manhattan apartments are not symmetrical, so the early stage on doing things a certain way goes a long way on the final look. He understands plumbing, and electrical well to communicate to our contractors. He referred us to a HVAC engineer. When it came to interior design, we had Sarah who provided feedback and suppliers information. She was also very helpful. Jim knows the DOB process well and helped us resolved many issues even during covid and DOB rule changed in 2020 and 2021. We also had him manage the project with the contractors. The contractors don't have the same design eyes and were a bit sloppy and forgetful so it was imperative to have Jim help us. Urban charges by the hour and provided an accurate estimate of the cost. Make sure what projects he's working on so he can allocate time properly. In the beginning with the design drawing schematic, it took a while cause he was on a couple of brownstone projects but overall still have a very positive experience with Jim. He was responsive.

I began with…read morean expediting company in Rockville Center (who name I will not reveal) that started the TOH process to close the permits. After the cost related to electrical and plumbing inspections, architectural drawing, TOH fees and months of delays, I took my details to Mark Anthony's firm in North Bellmore in Late December 2025. I explained the difficulties with the expeditor to Ashley, a member of the business's staff; she immediately connected me to Don Amen. After explaining the open permits and delays, he said the firm would take over my case and began to explain Mark Anthony's fees, TOH fees, schedules and the inspections process. Over the next four months, communications with Don were nothing short of exemplary. His expertise with the permit process, research of my home and property, drawings that needed to be prepared for the TOH and anticipated scheduling was outstanding. The process became more complicated because the original expeditor did not include a major part of what the TOH expected due to finishing that had to be maintained after alterations and renovations over the years. In addition, supplemental drawings and permit clarifications had to be submitted to the TOH. With the sale/closing of my home set for April 2026, Don assured me the predicted schedule would be met and was very patient; consistently and quickly responding to my "million" emails (certainly provided a "calm me down' feeling through a difficult TOH process). As expected, drawings were delivered, all changes were updated and the inspection process was ready. After numerous TOH fees for closing permits, inspections and certificate of completion were paid, happy to report that the permits are now CLOSED. I would certainly recommend Mark Anthony's firm for permits issues. His entire staff is very knowledgeable with the TOH minutia of guidelines. The process of researching codes going back to 1950 and checking for current standards is certainly an expertise that one develops over many years of experience, and to incorporate those details within a complete set of drawings is very time consuming and amazing, This firm is one that you should employ immediately if you are searching for help with any TOH issues. The process takes time, but, in 2026 it's difficult for find a company that delivers quality with the highest form of professionalism...that's what Mark Anthony's staff delivers.

As a contractor, I rely on dependable professionals to maintain my reputation--and unfortunately, this experience was anything but dependable. After months of delays and not following up with the town. and lack of communication, and what felt like complete disinterest in moving our project forward, we were left with no choice but to start over with a new firm. Checking in every few months shouldn't be considered excessive, yet even that seemed too much for them. Eventually, they went completely silent. Do your homework before hiring. In this business, reliability matters--and once that trust is broken, there's no going back. They won't be used again, and they know why.

This architect is disgustingly unprofessional and more importantly, a bad person. He was 15 minutes late to our meeting, walked in while I was speaking to his co workers, Jasmine and Dong, and was completely dismissive about the entire meeting. When I started to ask him about the next steps to move forward, like how to pull permits and the pricing for the design, he completely FLIPPED out telling me why would he pull permits when that's the contractor's job? I was a bit taken aback since my previous architect pulled permits alongside my contractor. He then started to allege that I use unlicensed contractors. I started to wonder what he was getting at and why he was being such a rude jerk. He then had the nerve to pull out the BIS gov website and ask me about the contractor I used and the address. When I tried to tell him the architect firm, he got very angry and said why would I care about the architect? HELLO! You asked who pulled the permits! He found my previous project and everything was up to code. This guy is disgusting. There is NP way he's a legit architect because he doesn't have any skills on how to speak to clients. Stay away. You can find architects who pull permits alongside the contractors. This means he has very bad relationships with the DOB.
