Welcome to the Twilight Zone…read more I've been sick -- a lot -- over the past few months. Strep throat, bacterial infection, allergies, you name it, I've had it. So, being ill again and tired of coughing every five seconds, I managed to get the boyfriend to take me in to the Vernon Walk-In Clinic one afternoon last week. The woman at the counter was incredibly friendly, and I was hopeful that I'd get fixed up well. And then? Then I was taken in to the doctor's office. The man who initially took me in was friendly at first. He commented about my hair reminding him of Phyllis Diller, making jokes about his lack of hair, etc. He took my temperature, kept talking, and I? I shifted uncomfortably in my chair. Then we went into the exam room, and to be honest I couldn't tell if this guy was the doctor, a nurse, or some random guy just looking to have fun poking around at someone. He noticed my star of David and I mentioned that I'd been in Israel, and then, then it all started. I got a lecture about how the real Hebrews are blacks, not people like me. He started talking about how the Ethiopians are Jews who just believe in Jesus and blah blah blah. The guy just kept going on and on and I kept trying to explain my symptoms, but he was talking about Discovery Channel specials and random, random, random things. I just wanted a doctor. Eventually, after he started talking about Luther Vandross, the doctor came by, and a woman dressed up like an actual nurse came in and did a few things, made me do a breath test (since I'm asthmatic, I guess) and eventually some guy who was supposedly an actual doctor came in. Now, this guy ... he has to be a complete wackjob. I mean, he is. He didn't stop talking one second to listen to me. He used his stethoscope by putting it on my back, saying to take a deep breath and the moment I started to do so, he removed the instrument -- he didn't listen to ANYTHING, and he did this about six times. Meanwhile, he was STILL talking. He just kept talking. I don't even remember what he was saying, something about how I MUST get a family doctor, how I must see an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and how they just can't do anything for me. He just. Kept. Talking. The thing is, when I went in, I was about 99 percent sure I had a sinus infection, since I chronically get them. I had hoped for the Z-Pack since the last (probably fake) doctor had given me a second round of penicillin (this was in Pennsylvania), causing me to have an allergic reaction to penicillin. Instead, here's this doctor, who has not even VENTURED a look up my nose to see what the sinuses look like, nor has he even TOUCHED my face or sinuses to survey the situation. I finally asked, "Do I have a sinus infection?" and the doctor proceeded to walk out of the room while STILL talking to me ... he talked to me all the way down the hall. I mean, this guy was insane. He didn't once look at me. He just talked. They finally gave me some Nasonex, a prescription for the Z-pack, and sent me on my way. I left, feeling like I had just wasted a $10 copay and more than an hour of my time with a bunch of lunatics preaching the gospel of the Hebrews and talking out their asses about just about everything. Pardon me if I sound a little disgruntled, but I highly recommend NO ONE go to this place. Unless, of course, maybe you're writing a screenplay about lunatics in a walk-in clinic.

It was Christmas Day, I looked up my policy and it said nothing about increased deductible on Holidays. I showed them my card and they argued with me. She tells me BCBS will refund me. After this the Doctor goes, there is no xray so I can't even subscribe you additional meds with out you driving 45 minutes away for an tray. I am coughing so hard, driving there was a challenge. She is a poor communicator and has almost nonexistent listening skills; further, she was unconcerned that I was not pleased with the care I received. He found my underlying problem where 4 other doctors did not. The previous doctors never fully listened and considered ALL my symptoms. I was unaware of just how much, and for how long i had been popping Tylenol/Acetaminophin to help me with chronic sleep problems, until he pointed out that too much Tylenol/Acetaminophen could be causing my problems. When he mentioned that to me a bell went off, and I knew he was onto something. Silly me!! Now I know better, so I will do better. Be careful people, you can easily enough start O.D.ING on that stuff. Since slowly tapering off, and eventually quitting all Tylenol/Acetaminophin, regular and PM's for sleep, the severe headaches, and all headaches for that matter have subsided. Hence no more vomiting from intense migrains. Still cannot sleep though? Help! However when I got home and read the sheet that they gave me I noticed something written that I was not happy with. My son has Down Syndrome with a dual diagnosis of autism. They had written on it... Down Syndrome. .and underneath that.."low functioning". I was irked because : 1) I don't remember in a matter of meeting my son within the last few minutes. ..that an evaluation was done to determine his cognitive level 2) there was no need to write or document that information. ..it had no baring whatsoever on why we were there or the treatment needed. Please think of these things in the future whenever you write information on your follow up sheets. Other then that I was pleased with the care given.

I've been coming to Dr. Friedman some 25 years. I'm surprised no one has reviewed him before since…read morehe has a busy practice in town. He's an excellent physician, period. Very knowledgeable, sees everything going around so usually is "in the know" and is also soft spoken and a nice guy! He's usually able to quickly diagnose me when not feeling well - that's when and why I come here. In 2013 I came in with a mild sore throat I couldn't shake. Within 48 hours I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and seeing Radiation and Medical Oncologists. Later I learned many patients with my cancer are initially treated with antibiotics because of misdiagnosis. His proper diagnosis and speedy treatment arrangements may have saved me. Kudos to Dr. Friedman for that! Sometimes you can wait to see him longer than is appealing, but he's good and maybe that's why! For some reason I see more seniors here than any other age group but he does birth to death as far as I know. Hands down 1000% better than the new wave of walk-in clinics that feature higher co-pays and lots of nurses (APRN, RN, etc) but No M.D.'s!! Dr. Friedman's practice reminds me of the good old fashioned local family doctor that gets to know you and your family. I see HIM every time and also notice very little turnover in nurses and staff - another good sign.

As for the staff, they have absolutely no empathy for anyone and speak to you on the phone as if you are a huge bother. My mother has been suffering for months with chronic pain and they finally found a medicine that sort of helps (more so than the others they have tried).

I'm in severe discomfort right now with severe headaches, pain in my joints, fatigue, and a foggy head.. instead of believing me and my symptoms all they wanna do is run tests and unless they get a positive result for Lyme disease they will not give me doxycycline. I even tried a virtual visit and the physician wanted to give me muscle relaxers !what a the joke,! So here I sit suffering along, figuring out what to do next. I thought medicine was supposed to care for the patient, but I guess that's not the case now and could give a Damm about patient health.
