Beware of the 'dedicated rep' experience they advertise. My Client Experience Specialist, Katrina, was largely unresponsive throughout my order. When a cover page error occurred, I was told it was entirely my fault for approving the proof -- conveniently leaving out that there were already flagged concerns with my file that Katrina never bothered to communicate to me directly. No call. No email. Just silence, and then blame. I understand that proof approval carries responsibility, but when a specialist is aware of flagged issues and stays silent, placing all the blame on the customer is poor service. A simple phone call or email could have caught this before it went to print. I expected more from a company with this many positive reviews. The entire process of uploading files and review proofs couldn't have been easier - mainly thanks to Rachael Strunk who kept in constant communication and answered any questions I had in a very timely manner. Previously I've ordered 9 printed books from here and they've all been great except this recent order. My order arrived damaged (box crushed, books permanently creased in two different areas) so it was clearly smashed in transit but upon inspecting there was no padding in the box, just a stack of shrink-wrapped books so of course it was crushed in transit. I contacted them 3 times via their customer service chat. I got a job ticket each each time, but no answers as to what happened. Finally I got the direct email to their CSR Joshua and they still had no answers. They offered to reprint it, but seeing as how the order was late I had to send to customers who already pre-ordered the books, so I opted for credit. A $60 credit on a $300 order was a nice gesture, but let's face it a measly one. Especially after the exhausting two-week goose-chase to even get to that point. Even after speaking to a customer satisfaction rep, they still couldn't provide me with any answers as to what happened or ensure me that it would never happen again. So yes, the credit was a nice gesture, but my trust in this company has been lost so I'm not even sure if I'll use the credit or order from them again. read more

I have read these wonderful comments about the quality of the wall calendars for photographers. It is what led me to make a purchase of 600 units. I paid for 2-day air to have them for a huge community festival this weekend. I cannot use any of them, frankly, I'm embarrassed for them. Their guarantee stipulates that I must pay for the shipping to send everything back, and then pay again for them to ship everything back to me after they reprint the order. This is outrageous, I spent nearly $5000 for this order and would have made it all back plus a substantial profit this weekend but now I have calendars with vertical lines through each image as if the printer wasn't calibrated properly. I really wanted to use them and asked family to look. They said it was "very noticeable." I would love to just keep them and try to make a return on my investment, but it is that bad and I really don't want my name attached to this substandard quality. Even the cover has vertical lines crossing the entire image field. The glossy finish only accentuates the lines. In images of the Northern Lights it's even more apparent. The paper quality and physical product is satisfactory, but the image quality would cause me to think twice about using this printer for any high-quality photographic work because my options now are to have them re-print the entire order, pay for the cost of reshipping their defective product back to them, and paying out- of-pocket to have the reprint shipped back to me. I already spend over $660 for 2nd-day air. I paid for quality and I got shoddy, amateurish work. I will not have these calendars for the festival that starts tomorrow with an anticipated weekend crowd of over 100,000. I had anticipated to triple my initial investment with sales this weekend. yes, I'm upset and I have every reason to be. I did have to pay for 2 day shipping, but that was on me due to the late submission of artwork. I had 500 calendars printed last year. Had to replace 4 pictures from hard copy draft and 2 still came out poorly. Anyway, I sold 400. This year, I ordered 400 calendars. I got a digital proof. It looked awful. I called, and they sent me high res digital proofs. They looked good. I was assured that the finished product would look as well. They looked awful. Washed out colors. I contacted them, and they said they looked fine. I left them an honest review on Trust Pilot. Now, they call me asking to make it right. They said they knew there was a problem with my calendars as they had to "change the drum" on the machine after my order. She asked how they could make it right. I said I only sold half of them. People flip through them and put them down. How about giving me half my money back. She said "would that be enough to get you to take your review down?" I said no. That would be dishonest. She said they would be in touch. Not. 2 lessons. Never doing business with them again. If they knew a $2000 order wasn't right and sent it anyway, they don't deserve my business. Second, don't trust Trust Pilot. They shared my personal info with Printcenter USA after I made the review. I almost didn't use them because of some of the reviews, but for the price, I decided to risk it. Now, I'm very glad I did! I will admit to being high maintenance. I was nervous because this was a new process for me, so I called three times before I submitted my file. Every time, I spoke to a person right away. They were supportive and able to answer my questions easily, making me feel like I wasn't talking to a random customer service rep. The women who answered each time was knowledgeable and helpful, making my decisions easier with their experience. Mary put the proof together and it looked fantastic, except somehow I missed an issue in the endnotes so I had to reject the proof and resubmit. Even though it was my delay, she got the second proof back to me in an hour so we could get it into production the next day. The books were delivered one business day early and the quality was exactly what we expected. They wrapped the books together free (which is something you pay for at other printers), allowing for no damage to any of them during shipping. I will definitely use them again. My small job was printed quickly and on time. However, while the paper was of a good quality the printing was not. The colors were off, not at all like the proof. Some of the blues in the color photos were purple. The black and white photos were printed so dark one could not tell what they were. The booklets arrived damaged. They were well packed so I know the damage was done before they were shipped. Very poor quality control. I was planning to send more larger jobs for my company but now will look elsewhere. I missed an estimate by three days and they aren't honoring it. Normally this isn't an issue but price went from $588 to $758. That is a 22.5% price increase. Pretty hard to go to my client to increase their cost on a job that was quoted 33 days ago. Their new pricing will impact my profits. I will shop around but will probably be back because they do short run perfect binding. BUT, not happy at all. We received our booklets, and they are perfect. I am floored by the patience and professionalism of this team. This was a booklet project with a lot of digitally restored artwork from the 80s, in which we needed to get the colors exactly right. The staff at Printing Center USA worked with me until we had the proof colors just right. They were so patient with my pickiness, and the final product did not disappoint. My experience so far have been pretty good. What I love the most is that they receive working files (nothing of that "outline your fonts" nonsense) and there is quite a bit of room for customization (you can upload your own artwork), if you don't see the options you need on their website you just deal with a sales rep who will give you a customized quote, receive your working files, payment and everything. I have printed postcards, bookmarks and booklets and the quality of work was pretty good (and being a graphic designer I can certainly attest that). Shipping on time as well. I can say the experience is almost the same as when dealing with your regular VERY expensive printing shop, the difference being that you don't have to pay outrageously to get good service and quality of work. This company does not need clients and does not work with clients. We need few marketing materials. Rules at site Printingcenterusa.com says that need upload pdfx3 with no fonts, but in pdfx3 fonts embedded. If we create outlines - fonts view little different (you know about this) and we don't like this. We asked about this and received answer that we don't need do pdfx3 and can send original file with pictures and fonts in zip. We received soft proof with broken fonts. We asked about broken fonts and received answer - this is problem in low resolution proof. We asked about promise that at print will be ok. No answer about promise, but we received high resolution proof with broken fonts again. We asked - fonts broken again and received answer - you use Acrobat for view, your Acrobat settings in wrong and you see broken fonts. Ok, We installed two additional different pdf viewers - in both broken fonts. We called twice and ask fix problem - nobody wont do this. We wrote mail general manager - no answer. We cancel order, because we don't work with this company. read more

Their customer service was fantastic, and they were nice and patient with me as I had to go through several small changes to my PDF's - and didn't even charge me! Die cut was off, colors were not correct, my file was manipulated and changed without consulting with me. Prints were different from proof. Job was delayed and finally sent to the wrong address. One month gone and still no brochures. This will be the last time we are working with printing center USA. Update: We received the brochures today and the quality was pretty good. This is the second run. They did another run of 2000 brochures since the previous ones were unusable. All the faults mentioned above were addressed in the new prints. This is why I am updating my review to two stars. read more

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: These people are by no means "professional" printers. Your final product will not look like the PDF proof they have you approve, and they will have no end excuses as to why...all of which will be your fault. They take no responsibility for there shoddy work once you have paid for , and refuse to reprint your work in a satisfactory fashion or refund your money. The level of distortion that they find tolerable is far beyond what you will. Do not make the same mistake I did and waste thousands of dollars on a project that you really care about, you will be highly disappointed. I have added below a detail from the pdf sent to me for my approval, it has been opened in Acrobat Pro and saved as a jpeg with NO ADJUSTMENT of any kind, the other picture is a shot of the printed piece taken with my iphone camera in broad daylight (not in direct sunlight.) There is a serious loss of detail and colors are way off and way too dark. This has nothing to do with my file, the printed piece is supposed to match the pdf sent for approval. It is quite obvious from the naked eye that they do not. As of yet, Printingcenterusa has taken no responsibility for doing what is obviously a mediocre job. Maybe this is fine for some people, but it is nowhere near the standards that I am used to working with. This level of distortion is consistent throughout the entire printed piece. read more

We love the product, which is a fundraising calendar for our scholarship. Quality is great. Service is fast. I deducted one star from the rating because of their creative billing. Our online quote came to around $300 for 50 calendars. After placing the order I emailed to request a hard copy proof instead of electronic pdf proof. When the bill came there was $65 additional charge! Seems a bit excessive for one calendar. Maybe I missed it when I chose hard copy proof originally, but their online system is a bit cumbersome and it seemed to revert to the electronic proof. I don't remember the cost being that much higher for the hard proof. This cut into our fundraising goals a bit, but I think I would choose them again, and stick with the pdf proof. read more

Any printing business that does not know the first page of a book starts on the right-hand side should not advertise book printing services. I used this print shop to print my books. They did not lay out my book properly therefore text did not coincide with the illustration on the opposite page. Plus they insisted I had approved the proof and I definitely had not. (Of course, the proof is no longer available.) I gave written permission to add an additional page if necessary and instructions to place the title on the copyright page if necessary and I was ignored. Plus I was quoted a delivery price and when I went to checkout they raised it substantially because they said my location was in the eastern part of the US. Plus they increased the quoted price because they printed on the inside cover! It looks awful. This is the first review I have ever written. I am so upset. All my work is for nothing. I work as a volunteer with a local library foundation. We have used PrintingCenterUSA for a number of years. When the costs of printing our simple newsletter skyrocketed with a vendor selected by a former volunteer, I went shopping on the Internet and found P-C-USA. They provided excellent pricing, quality printing, and great service. A recent change in directorship somehow got things derailed and other Internet printers were used for several projects; those printers were very difficult to deal with and pricing was higher. I recently got re-involved and steered things back to P-C-USA and am glad to report they are just as inexpensive, quality-conscious, and customer-oriented as ever. This was my second calendar order From PrintingCenterUSA. I will use them again since the service was generally good and I now know how to work around their shortcomings. I used their template and Photoshop to design my calendar and it was much easier this second time. Even if you're experienced with Photoshop a tutorial on how exactly to use all those layers would be helpful. I have a wide gamut monitor with fresh calibration but I still found the color and contrast in the pdf proof did not match the final product very well. Maybe a physical proof would be better. The worst problem was with delivery time. I was on a fairly tight schedule but their ordering system gave me one day to spare after approving the proof, so I was happy. Unfortunately, their ordering system assumes the products will be shipped from their Montana facility, even if they're not. Mine was shipped from Ohio, meaning I suffered a two day delay. Had I known I could have purchased faster service from UPS. My tight schedule was for getting a sample to a newspaper for publicity, so my rep, Mike, found a couple of extra copies in Ohio to overnight to me which would have solved the problem, but it took Ohio two days to get them to UPS, so they arrived in the same delivery as the bulk of the order, a day too late. read more
