Wireless internet along with a few public access computers. Check out the books outside the front door. Cheap bargains!

They recently did a complete renovation of the building, adding on a modern addition to the historical library, which they did a fantastic job preserving the integrity of the wood shelves & classic elements. This side has turned into the adult section with multiple levels, accessible by stairs or elevator. The new addition has an incredible bright children's section on the second floor; complete with floor to ceiling windows & a modern feel. Great play area includes a lego table, lighted table for colorful tiles, puppet area, play kitchen, dolls as well as computers & tables available. Comfy seating for adults. Fantastic programs going on weekly for kids, some daytime & some evening. The staff are lovely & fun. The new building has a great, large room that has been used for community meeting & events, as well as smaller study rooms that you can reserve throughout. Nice little teen area on the first floor too. Great self checkout area or front desk staff available. The new parking lot is great & has plenty of spaces. Keep yourself up-to-date on library events for kids as young as babies, teens & adults just by visiting the website. Books can be reserved online for pickup as well. Baraboo library has knocked them all out of the park! Come see for yourself.

Keeping in step with the visionary planning of the library board is a dedicated staff that knows patrons by name, works many more hours than is asked of them, and provides an expanding breadth of uncensored circulation. Sadly, there is the passing of CFL-Baraboo as a "quiet library" due to the increased patron count. This translates to an absence of "shushing" from the pursed lips of the library director...it'll never be the same, but a great library no less.

They have so many cool prizes like free passes to the Milwaukee Public Museum, the state fair, a mallard's game, etc. They also have an adult summer reading challenge as well as a fall one. I participate in both each year and they have gift card raffles & small prizes for adults too which is awesome! The library also hosts lots of cool events like author events, puzzle competitions, historical events, etc. There are SO many things to do and get involved with and opportunities to learn. They also have an incredible collection of books and "book club bags" complete with multiple copies of popular books and a question guide for book clubs! They're currently doing an expansion and amphitheater as well. So grateful to have such an amazing library. Check it out if you haven't!

I love this library. Love it. It is beautiful and quite large with a quiet room full of magazines…read more(you can check out the ones from the previous months), piles of documentary DVDs, quiet corners to sit/hide in, screened porches that are open during the non-winter months, four self-check stations, an open area where you can fetch your own holds (and thanks to the wonders of technology you don't have to worry about somebody snaking your long-awaited stuff away from you), bunches of computers with access to the internet (even if you had to bring your impatient 3-year-old who thinks the word 'quiet' means 'be louder'), and a great used-book store run by some very sweet retirees. And that's just the stuff I've used. There are two different graphic novel sections: one for adults and one for kids. Finally, maybe my *most* favorite thing, is the Staff Picks section. It's mostly books but with a few DVDs too; I've found some worthy stuff there. There are dedicated children's librarians, friendly people at the information/reference desk (with little plaques that say please interrupt us), and book returns both inside and out. I've always been pro-library, but this place is just unbelievable. I feel so lucky to live near it.

Libraries now are so much more than books! The library does have a great selection of books, magazines and media such as DVDs. There are areas for quite reading, meetings and computer stations. This library boasts a large collection of materials, as well as many useful community resources. The librarians are always courteous and helpful. I have seen them answer all sorts of questions without missing a beat, and they seem genuinely dedicated to helping others. There always seems to be some kind of activity going on during the week, and they especially have many activities for kids - concerts, magicians, movie nights, etc. They have multiple self-checkouts, so you never have to wait long (usually not at all!) to check out your items. It has a Keurig, sells snacks, and usually has a puzzle or coloring pages out to enjoy. It also has conference rooms that you can reserve if you want some more privacy while working or want to have a meeting there. As much as I love this library, there are some downfalls. First, the parking situation is kind of a mess - there simply isn't enough of it for how busy the library is. Secondly, because it usually is busy, it can be hard to find an open table at times and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. Because it has an open layout, you can often hear children screaming/crying if you are upstairs in the "adult" section. If you think about it, these "downfalls" only prove how popular this place is. Overall, this library is great!
