I want pretty nails so the solution was to gel them and have the manicurist mend it. They have plenty of colors to choose from and everyones mani and pedi looked very pretty! I'll do THAT next time. I'm pleased with the results. Wow. 4 hours after my gel manicure n Saturday my hands looked like this: (see photo). My thumbnail just peeled off completely and the rest were lifting and peeling on both hands. I went to the owner on Monday to show her and politely asked for a refund ($25 plus 1/2 of the $10 tip I gave - the regular pedi was fine). She insisted that since I had a manicure - (we trimmed your cuticles!!) the gel was only worth $12. I then asked her for the $12 and the complete tip refunded. She threw $22 at me. Wow. I went because my usual person was booked. I will never step foot in there again and I would advise you don't either. Mistakes happen. All she had to do was apologize for the poor job and give me my refund and I would have been fine. read more

UNSANITARY PEDICURE PRACTICE.!!! The Pedicure Tub WAS NOT cleaned properly after the previous client vacated the Pedicure Station. (Just a quick rinse before it was refilled.) The Nail Clippers, Cuticle Pusher, Nail Nippers, Emery Boards, etc. WERE NOT CLEANED OR SANITIZED before being used on Different Clients. I observed this with Myself & 2 Other Clients. Towels were Reused. (NO clean towels were brought out!) They were quick & Efficient.. I Would give this Nail Salon a ZERO!! Horrible experience! We were staying at Taos Ski Valley, and the resort didn't have a nail salon at the spa. So we ventured into town to do a little shopping and get our nails done. We asked one of the restuarants the best place to go, and this was their number two pick. We show up, and only 2 people were working. We had 4 in our group, so we didn't expect it to be quick. Two of us were seated for our pedis, and the water was ice cold! We requested new, warmer water. Lets just say it was warmer, but not hot by any means. So the tech gets started, and I realized the tools he pulls out, they do not come out of a sterile package, but a school pencil case. I ask if they are sterilized. He says yes, and then drowns them with alcohol. I knew right then, I did not want those tools on my feet. I requested just to paint my nails. So if you are in TSV and in need of a pedicure... just wait until you get home. read more

I live in Taos and always get my pedicure at another nail salon but was driving by so decided on a whim to stop and have a pedi. Waited about 10 minutes and the pedi lasted about 15. I am a manicure and pedicure junkie. This is by far the worst ever. The entire process took a little over 35 minutes. Very little attention given to cleaning the cuticles or underfoot skin. I would not recommend, just got a manicure and pedicure, nice people but very sloppy work. I could have stayed 70 bucks and did a better job at home. They weren't even busy I was the only one in there and they couldn't even pay attention to me. I read the review from the gal from Texas and all I want to say to her is stay in Texas.The only reason they have two employees is because it's a family run business.Also Taos is such a small community that its not necessary to have a full crew. The establishment is very clean and the prices are great. I've never had a problem with their pedicures.Yea you can get better pedis else where,but the prices are always higher.I come from Las Vegas N.V. and yes they are awesome out there but that's Vegas and there you pay and arm and a leg. read more

I made an appointment, which means nothing because only one person was working. He was giving a man a pedicure as I walked in. When he was finished about ten minutes later, he came to me and I picked out a simple French tip acrylic nail design. After he put on the fake tips with a massive amount of glue that stuck my fingers to my nails (i was still trying to take it off my skin days later), I looked at his dry, cracked, bleeding hands and nails. Ouch. He then left me and went to paint someone else's nails. As I sat there for about ten more minutes, he came back, got on the phone and chatted with his business partner that just left. He was on the phone for the remainder of the process. Then he quickly slapped some acrylic over my nails and called it done. Okay. Seeing as though the total was $40, I was expecting a sculpted tip not just a fake tip which covered 75 percent of the whole nail. My nails looked weird. French tips shouldn't be 75 percent of your nail. I would've been okay with it if it were $20, but would definitely not go there again. read more

I went to Princess Nails for acrylic nails. When I got there only one technician was working and open. I showed him a picture of how I wanted my acrylic nails painted/designed. In the picture the nails were almond shaped and i specifically told him several times I wanted them squared instead. He said okay, glued the tips on and trimmed them. I looked at the TV a moment and when i looked back he had already started to cut them the almond shape and when I told him not to he said its okay its popular right now and they'll look better this way, I wasnt about to argue so I let him continue. Next he starts using a white acrylic gel (which I've never seen or had used on me before) to look like the nails in the picture.(they were white with the ring finger a gold color and the middle a white background with black and gold cheetah print.) and after the white, a glittery yellow acrylic (which made you want to puke because it wasnt a more natural gold color.) I hope you can imagine how horrible this looked. After the acrylic dried and he finished the nails he moved me to the spray design station and picked out a stencil that looked like the outside of cheetah print and he sprayed it black. Now, I thought he would fill in the outline of the cheetah print stencil, like do dots of gold...but sadly I was wrong. Now he took the same stencil and moved it to the side a little and sprayed a gold color that looked nothing like the acrylic on my ring finger. He let the spray dry and charged me $35 dollars. None of the nails were the same almond shape, the golds didnt match, there was polish spray all over my finger and it looked like i had a bunch of gold and black cheetos painted on my middle finger. It looked nothing like the photo. I was so blown by how messed up my nails were I didnt even try to have him fix them. I went to another salon and had them take the nails. Bottom line I do not recommend princess nails to anyone, the technicians are rude and cannot accomplish the simplest tasks as making the shape of your nails match. Please please please find another nail salon in Taos and go there, no mattre how many people recommend princess nails. People in Taos are too used to shitty manicures. read more
