I was tasked with leading PT. The first time I lead PT we performed a circuit. The second tome we contacted Harry and he took us on a shenanigan-laced trip throughout the springs. My grandson absolutely loves the cotton top tamarin, and my granddaughter is the same about the Black and white lemurs. We always average being there 4 to 5 hours. Their just never ready to go. They are always acquiring new animals and birds, so the experience is never dull. Always something new to see The only downside is there is nowhere to purchase food. The nearest food is an Arby's in a gas station off of highway 19. So, if you're planning a full day pack a lunch, especially with young ones.

Since it's been almost a year since the last review here, I think it's time for some updating…read more There are currently no reviews lower than three stars, so I decided to make sure to visit this location on my trip to Tallahassee. I knew I would be arriving around 4:00 and understood that they closed at 5:00 p.m., but I really just wanted to enjoy the gardens and grounds. There was an accident on the freeway and it was 4 :40 p.m. when I arrived. All the intrigates were already shut and locked. I was annoyed as they are supposed to be open until 5:00, but I understand that some people are excited to go home and want to close up and leave early. Undeterred, I got a hotel for the night and made sure to come back first thing in the morning. I could not be more confused by the reviews. It looked to me like no one had been taking care of the grounds at all. The grass was brown, and a thick layer of leaves was covering everything. When I went to park in one of the few spaces I saw, a woman in a sedan opened her car door and let her three small dogs run out off leash. I watched them dedicate while she sat in her car on the phone and I knew it was time to go. I can see now why the employees are keen to leave early.

We brought a picnic lunch and had plenty of room on the boat. It was so relaxing having someone else bait their hooks and cast their lines. Some trails shown are so over grown they may as well not exist. The Butler trail no longer loops as announced by a few signs, because it was washed out. I'm wondering why they don't just repaid the trail? On that note the trails are grossly untended and sometimes very narrow due to this. It's a shame, as you could tell from some of the reviews whom ever care-takes the park cared a lot more for it in the past. Over all it's sort of neat going there for the history, but the uncaring presentation destroys any thrill of education or mysticism which may surround the site.
