We went to your restaurant for my birthday on Saturday, July 11th. We are regulars, especially for…read morelunch, and we have always enjoyed our meals. However, that evening, we were very disappointed. It must be said that the restaurant was almost empty. My wife ordered the Stimpson's surf clams au gratin, and it was overcooked and very greasy, compared to what she had eaten before. She then ordered the salmon tartare. The dish looked good, but the tartare lacked flavor and was bland (I would recommend going to Shakers further down the street). The fried lasagna strips were not crispy at all, nor were the croutons in the Caesar salad. I ordered the cod in a pastry crust, Italian style. Although everything was good, the piece of cod was very small, maybe five tiny bites at most, and the amount of pasta on the plate would have been enough for two people. The only positive thing about our experience was that our server, Guillaume, was courteous and friendly. He suggested a good wine to accompany our meal and took good care of us. Even after mentioning it was my birthday, I didn't receive the birthday discount advertised on the restaurant's website, which added to our disappointment. The value for the meal vs price was not there. I don't know if the kitchen wasn't working properly that evening or if they were understaffed, but our experience was extremely disappointing. I don't think I'll be returning for a special occasion.

I thought was nice that they had separate menus in French and English, asking which you would prefer as they seat you. My review is closer to 3.5 stars…read more I was pleasantly surprised by this place, it was packed while most area restaurants were closed around 6pm. We mostly came to grab a coffee, and took a mix appetizer plate which was very original and quite good. I (unfortunately) have to go to Sorel from time to time, and would choose here instead of elsewhere hands down.

Ok I had no choice. No hipster spot with a creative menu and funky decor. As others have mentioned…read morebefore me, the decor is from the 90s. But its clean and bright. I sat by the window and read my JdMtl. Lunch time specials ran from hamburger steak to lasagna and everything in between. When in Rome... order pasta. So I had the pizza ghetti. My ancestors would kill me if they find out. Maybe that's why I don't have my photo. The small pizza was well cooked and enjoyable. The spaghetti was ok but you can taste that the meat sauce is sweet. The portion was large but my glycemic index just exploded. I skipped desert and washed everything down with a joe. I should have tried the chicken place down the street. Next time. All in all a traditional resto in a smaller town where you can't push things too far if you wanna stay in business. It's clean it's cheap staff is friendly the food is honest. I got a two hour drive to fight to stay awake.
