There was a little market nearby where I grabbed a sandwich and soda. I felt perfectly safe to leave my clothes while they were washing. Others were doing the same. But the highlight of my visit was the kindness of other customers (3 different men). One must have seen me looking a bit lost and tried his best to explain to me what to do next in French. Then a young man who spoke some English offered to let me use his detergent when he saw me about to purchase some. As I was folding my laundry, I had a pleasant conversation (in English) with a man who runs a local B&B. It was a delightful experience!

First, the wall instructions and the machines have English options. We found it very easy to figure out. Second, and this was perfect for us, the machine takes cards!! We were stressed by previous reviews saying Euros and tokens only, but the main pay machine takes cards and it's very easy to just follow the instructions, add the machines you are using, pay with card, and they run perfectly! This location was clean, central, had a lot of machines to use and washed and dried clothing very quickly. It was a perfect laundry stop on our trip!

There's a money machine which allows you to pay for everything in one central location, including detergent and softener. Since we only speak English, we relied on the pictures for directions. There's also free wifi, so you have something to do as you wait for your laundry. It's slow. There's also cafes for food nearby. The cost of a load to wash and dry are rather pricey, but for a backpacker with the need for fresh clothes, it fit the bill.

No laundry soap for sale though, and it's a bit pricey (€3.50/wash token, €0.70/dry token... You'll need one or two to wash depending on the size of the washer, and at least four towns to dry a small wash). Beautiful area though, really pretty to just sit and wait on a nice, sunny day. Felt safe here, although there's nowhere to go (again, that I could find) for a coffee while you wait.

I just hate ironing my hubby's shirts, but I have always done it reluctantly, because I felt that the prices I have seen until now were just too high. However, this small and local shop does them for €2,5/shirt. So I decided to give it a try and test 4 shirts. The outcome was just impeccable and I was able to pick them up already the next day. This seriously saves my life (and my time), hence the great rating. I haven't tried their other services, but just having a look at the store, I can tell that clients must be very satisfied with the service. So will I go back to this place? That will definitely be a YES.
I've heard so many dry cleaning horror stories about Brussels, that I waited a while before getting…read morethings dry cleaned. I finally bit the bullet since Lav-O-Seul had such great reviews, and my experience was mixed. I went in on a Saturday shortly before they closed. I didn't realize that they only took cash, quite an inconvenience since it's so expensive. Several other customers and I had to go to the ATM and come back. They told me my clothes would be ready Monday afternoon. I went back around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, and they said they needed an extra day to redo a few items and that I should come back the following day. This was annoying, since the location isn't particularly convenient for me. And when I thought about it later, it would have been nice if they had offered to give me the items that were done. When I went back on Tuesday afternoon, everything was done, and seemingly done well. They use a massive amount of staples to identify the clothes, and annoyingly, they don't take them out, so your tags will be covered in staples that you have to remove yourself. I find this annoying, since part of why I'm paying someone else to clean my clothes is to minimize the amount of work for myself. However, I will keep going back if I don't hear about a better place.
