When I spoke with the teacher she victim blamed my child. Additionally concerning is that there is no conspicuously posted notices of illness when there are children that are found to have contagious illnesses. The teacher said they weren't posted, the director said they were, when I drop off I look for them and see them nowhere. The teachers are kind, their demeanor is nice, and they seam to have a good structure with the children. Long story short, limited supervision and compliance.

Our experience with this school was extremely disappointing, and based on what our family…read moreexperienced, I would not recommend this school for a child with ADHD or similar support needs. We were completely transparent from the beginning about our child's ADHD diagnosis and his need for accommodations, additional redirection, patience, and support. The school was aware of these needs before accepting him. Because the school also accepts the Step Up For Students FES-UA scholarship for children with unique abilities, we believed they understood that some students may require additional support and time to adjust. Unfortunately, after only six school days, we received an email asking us to attend a meeting to "go over accommodations." We went into that meeting expecting collaboration, strategies, and a plan to help our child succeed. Instead, we were blindsided. The meeting essentially became a conversation informing us that the school did not believe it could meet his needs and that he would need to leave. Six school days is an extremely short amount of time to determine what a child with ADHD is capable of, especially after transitioning from homeschooling into a completely new school environment. We expected accommodations to actually be implemented, given a fair opportunity to work, and adjusted if needed before such a major decision was made. We were also very uncomfortable with the Head of School, Diane, making assumptions about our child potentially having diagnoses beyond ADHD. School staff should certainly communicate behaviors or concerns they observe, but making diagnostic assumptions after knowing a child for only a few days felt inappropriate. ADHD presents differently in every child, and diagnostic conclusions should be left to qualified professionals who have properly evaluated the child. What disappointed us most was feeling that the focus quickly became everything our child struggled with rather than what could be done to help him improve. Children with ADHD may need repeated directions, redirection, support with transitions, emotional regulation, bathroom accommodations, and additional time to adjust. These challenges do not mean a child is incapable of succeeding. As parents, we also made a genuine commitment to this school. We purchased school uniforms, PE uniforms, school-specific supplies, and rented a school instrument with a monthly payment because we expected our child would be given a fair opportunity to remain there. After only six days, we were left with uniforms, supplies, and other school-specific items that cannot simply be used at another school. The issue is not the money itself, but the fact that families make these preparations in good faith believing the school is also making a commitment to their child. Parents of children with ADHD or similar needs should ask very specific questions before enrolling about what accommodations will truly be provided, how much redirection the school is willing to offer, and how much of an adjustment period a child will actually receive.

This school is the most amazing, creative school with seriously the most caring, down to earth, dedicated, passionate, talented and kind teachers/staff that make it the best school/community there is for Early Learning and VPK in Ft. Myers...hands down! It's not "just a school", it's a unique community and you'll feel like you're part of a family. Everyone there-staff, teachers, and the parents are so kind and sweet, and everyone goes out of their way to make the school just keep getting better and updated by hosting fun events with the kids to raise money, or to have a charity event. Everyone helps each other out however they can. I feel so blessed My son got to go there and I am lucky enough to have seen him start at 3 years old and grow into the kind sweet boy he is today with the help of so many amazing woman there-it takes a village to raise a child. I never once worried about him, and that in and of itself says it all. Also to have been able to go to some of the most creative, beautiful and fun events I've ever been to! Kuddos to everyone at Bright Beginnings Early School and especially to the director of the school Samantha and also Mary for doing all the dirty work behind the scenes and making it look so easy... and for always having a smile on their face every morning and greeting the kids by name as they walk in to make them feel special You can see the love you have for the students and passion for the school. And let's not forget to mention, all of the wonderful teachers who show up every single day and not only teach our kids but go above and beyond! They've shown/taught our children compassion, kindness, what it means to be a good friend, how to behave/treat their classmates and adults , and most importantly about God and Jesus, and what it is to be a good human being in this crazy world...because that is one of the most important things to learn. I highly recommend sending your child or children to this school, as I promise you, you will be more than just satisfied and your child will absolutely love it there..they will learn so much, and in a creative way. There is always something fun going on whether it's the everyday stuff such as the playground, splash pad, play time while also learning things without even realizing it! And then there's always something such as special crafts, events for the parents to get to know each other, Dad's night out, Mom's night out, celebrations during holidays, concerts, charity events, etc. I could go on forever! You will also be amazed at how much they will learn, learn, because their level and expectations of teaching is very high and they do it in a fun way for the kids! One day when I picked him up his chin, forehead, & nose were really bloody and bruised (Mrs. Mina had been absent). Not only did no one working there know what happened, but no one noticed his bloddy face or the tears in his eyes. I had to ask them. I spoke with the directors and teachers and hoped it would be an isolated incident however, a few other friends in the same class had similar problems. We have all since changed schools. Too crowded and not enough helpers for the teachers. Also they let one child ruin the experience for all by not addressing the bullying.

We have felt very welcome and informed while attending TLT. The teachers plan amazing lessons that help the students learn at their own pace and using their own creativity versus forcing worksheets. I can't say enough about the amazing learning taking place here.
