I was told verbally by one of the teachers. I pulled my child immediately and asked to speak to the franchise owners who refused to call or meet with me. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.

The school's owners shockingly 'disenrolled' him at 10 p.m. the night before. This unjust action was taken because my sister, in an attempt to protect her 12-month-old, called DCF (local childcare licensing) to investigate something she was told by upper management at the school. Let that sink in... We were kicked out because my sister tried to protect her 12-month-old and asked questions based on something that was told to her... IS THIS REALLY THE WORLD WE LIVE IN? That you get punished for trying to protect our youngest and most vulnerable (or if you are related to someone trying to do this)??? I am making this public service announcement to raise awareness of this unjust action. I am sure I am not the first to have been unjustly punished for "calling DCF and writing a review." We cannot allow this to be our normal. To add insult to injury, Primrose has over $3800 of our money and won't acknowledge us or communicate with us. Again, this is because my sister stood up to protect her child. Imagine how many others have been silenced before us. It's urgent that we come together as a community and make it known that this malicious maltreatment will not stand! We need to act now to address this injustice.

My experience at Discovery Day Academy (DDA) would be UNACCEPTABLE…read more You might love the fish tank and the open kitchen, but once your inside the walls it's a disappointment. In my opinion: There is no homework or after-school tutoring available even for the child struggling and falling behind. They provide nothing. They do have a mandatory meal plan and no matter if your child eats it or not you will pay full fare. OH and you can send in extra food for them so they don't starve. They have served the same 10 meals all year long. Make sure you understand that. All teachers at this school are NOT certified. You would think for the tuition they would be but no. Classroom management is lacking, they claim to use Conscious Discipline but I never saw it used effectively. Positive behavior is never praised. If a teacher from another classroom passes you in the hallway, they do not greet you. Front desk staff is stuffy and not inviting as well. They want respect from the students but administration and staff don't give compassion and respect to their students and the families that attend the school. They have no integrity or professionalism either. Leadership at this school is not effective. I have seen many teachers resign this year, probably can't take the ineffective leadership and the standards not being met. The director and principal are not there when students are arriving in the morning. The head of school or director arrives after 9am, if she is there at all. Struggling students are not supported even if Discovery Day Academy writes a student support plan, in a special meeting for your precious child. They have not hired appropriate staff to support the students. I would not select this school for a special needs learner. You will be frustrated and so will your child. Bottom line is its smoke and mirrors. They are really good at telling you what you want to hear, so beware. NO MATTER why you leave, whether they don't meet your needs or your full on disgusted, they will tell you to PAY them EVER last cent. They have a policy for that, Zero withdrawal policy. This is Public record-check out WWW.LEEPA.ORG, search for Discovery Day Academy you will see their $78,000 2018 delinquent property tax bill, if you can't pay your obligations, how long can the door stay open!

Within the…read morefirst few months that my son was at this school, there was a big investigation into their safety in regards to fire drills etc. It was on the news and children were being interviewed. It was very unsettling. When I asked my son if they did monthly fire drills with the students he said no. Flat out no. The director of the school spent more time and effort into spinning her web of lies than she did actually ensuring students safety. We got quarterly emails detailing school gossip and addressing what this one and that one said and how they were all lies. The unprofessionalism is off the charts. The straw that broke the camels back was the email we received today (less than 4 weeks until school starts) stating that they didn't have enough students enrolled in the upper grades (I wonder why!!) therefore they wouldn't be having a 7th and 8th grade program. Sorry but good luck! Are you serious?? DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!

My son now smiles and waves going into school and they always greet him by name, all the teachers even at the front desk. I get updated pictures throughout the day which has made the transition sm easier for us. He comes home clean and singing every day. I've seen so much growth in him since starting daycare. Thank you guys!!!

I enrolled my daughter, who is 2 years old.... I dropped her off for her first day explained how covid has definitely kept her out of large group settings and clearly stated she has never done this before as in be around strangers or other kids her age in big groups. I left to run my errands before work and within 45 minutes I was called back to the school to pick her up because she wasn't behaving in "the office" ...as. A. 2. Year. Old.... I immediately drove back and was escorted to get her things and refunded my money immediately before I even entered the door. They claim she isn't ready for structure but made this evaluation within 45 minutes of meeting her. Also claimed they wouldn't be liable if she hurt herself because of her behavior inside their office? I explained she may be scared or overwhelmed and that a 2 year old probably would almost hurt herself in an office setting. I tried asking if I could walk her through her first day and explain what our time at home together consisted of but the owner or manager Jeremy constantly spoke over me and rushed me through conversation and out the door before even considering another minute working with my daughter. Over the phone everything was smooth sailing we will take her and your money thank you business but once I arrived in person the energy was shifted quickly. Long story short moms save yourself the embarrassment especially if you are heavily tattooed and young, they will not take care of your minis. Disappointed in this facility, I would give zero stars if I could but heres 1 for the notification!
