Well this time we headed out specifically to explore this Island Park and thanks to other Yelpers with parking tips. There is a public lot at the corner of 38 & 25 just across from the bike shop and there is also another entrance and parking lot down 25 (the sign says Island Park & also the Water Reclamation facility). It's a nice long island in the Fox River with a little something for everyone. They have many picnic tables and a LOT of benches all along both sides next to the river. The paths are paved and easy to manage. There are restrooms & also a playground for the little ones. Plenty of trees for shady areas if you want to get out of the sun as well. And there is a pedestrian bridge that runs under the train bridge to cross over to the opposite side of the river and continue on the bike/walking Fox River Trail. A perfect little respite spot if you are shopping in the often hustle-bustle of downtown Geneva and need a break.

I've been on it once or twice before but can't remember if I enjoyed it, so I'll have to go back someday. I mostly love visiting the gardens. It's free to enter. The garden is small and takes about 5-10 minutes to walk through, but it's so peaceful and a great spot for photos! I love the bridge and admiring the bright green foliage. It's worth the stop if you are nearby. It is very close to downtown Geneva and Batavia, and both towns have plenty of things to do! You can definitely make a day trip out of it. There's also great walking and bike riding paths in the forest preserve.

This is a free museum, but suggest a donation for two dollars for adults and one dollar for…read morechildren. It's beautiful inside and it's nice to see a piece of history. It's a beautiful windmill on the outside and inside and everything is basically made of wood. And you have these really friendly staff or volunteers who teach you about the history of the windmill. There's also a beautiful Japanese garden with many different types of plant entries. It's a great place to take pictures if you're having an event or for a wedding.

There is a climbing teepee (at least that's what it looks like), a seesaw, and several play areas not necessarily suitable for toddlers. There's a great little boardwalk area where you can see beavers, ducks, and other wildlife. There's also a bike path running in front i f the park with tons of parking. There's also a nice raised deck area with several picnic tables where you could enjoy a snack or meal and the nice view.

There were sculptures all along the walking path. This gave us something to look at and discuss as we walked. This is the best disc golf course in The Kane. Hands down…read more My 6yr old son and I head over here all year round to play this course. The Wheeler disc course sculpts a greater park that also claims several walking/bike paths, a baseball field, soccer/hockey fields, picnic areas, a playground, a mini golf course and tennis courts. Some of the holes are too hard for him to come close to par, but others are a great fit for his current ability. The course has a great range in difficulty which spans from easy par 3's to challenging par 4's. Legging out the entire course is about a 2 mile venture. The backwoods holes are a real hoot. Can't tell you the number of times I've headed into the tree's or the ravine to find a disc that's hooked too far right or left. Throwing from the top of the hill on hole #11 is a person fav. Just don't be surprised if you have to perform the aforementioned trip on a stray disc. Other holes feature baskets on the other side of a cluster of tree's, some border natural grass/reed areas, while others have very lengthy fairways weaving lines of tree's. Amenities-wise there's a drinking fountain near the parking lot and bathrooms near the playground. If you need anything else, bring it. Most golfers here like to bring their own beverage of choice. It's run by the Geneva Park District and the stay pad is open from June to September, typically. All of our kids love to be there. From infants up through elementary ages for sure will enjoy it. We visited the farm park and took in the various garden areas, and the butterfly house.
