We used PrimePay for a number of years. After a while, we discovered that they were not withholding taxes correctly for two of our employees. Multiple phone calls over a period of months failed to resolve the issue. We ended up paying an early termination fee and moved to another payroll provider, but we are happy with this decision. read more

Since day one I have had problems with PrimePay. This is the worst payroll company I have ever worked with. It took 11 emails and countless phone call to have my "client success manager" respond. I'd give zero stars if it was an option. Horrible payroll company. Choose anyone else, seriously! You cannot reach anyone by phone, emails go unanswered completely or days with no response, and worst of all - they run your payroll late! They charge more than any of their competitors but do a worse job. The level of service has gone downhill the last 2 years until I finally couldn't put up with it any longer. Prime Pay used to be the best until they changed their phone system over... I always got a person on the phone and they were always helpful. But now.. I have been on hold for one and a half hours, trying to speak to someone! This is totally unacceptable in any business! Non-existent customer service. No way to contact them on their website except by phone - they put me on hold for 45 minutes before I gave up. They have an option for anonymous complaints - and you have to sign in first! A one star would be way too high a rating. read more

Several issues this year. Now I'm receiving notices from the IRS and state of Michigan due to Primepay not filing reports correctly and/or not sending in withholding payments (that were deducted from our employees paychecks). When calling to follow up to ensure they are fixing the problem, I was told their tax department is too busy to make/take phone calls. Sounds as if they are too busy fixing their mistakes. My company has been with Prime Pay for over twenty five years. The service has extremely depleted in the past 2 yrs and I do not think I will have my payroll for pay day (Sept. 8th 2023)tomorrow. Last November I had to follow and chase down Fed Ex truck to get my payroll. There have been to many issues to list! I highly recommend that companies thinking about hiring them, DO NOT! There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have tried contact the upper management but feel they do not care. My company is small fish in a big pond. The Last two Months they have missed our delivery day 3 times. They do not answer their phones and even attempt to solve your problems.

My payroll should be extremely simple. I'm the sole employee of an S-Corp. But this company made it a nightmare. They somehow lost my bank account info, which caused a chain reaction of automated problems, then after I bent over backwards to help them fix the problem, new issues kept popping up. I couldn't get answers out of my rep. It was impossible to get a supervisor on the phone. When I eventually did, the information she gave me was incomplete. Have been using Prime Pay for 15+yrs for 2 businesses. One business with 7 employees and the other with 20-30 seasonal employees. Prime Pay has made it easy to manage all my payroll needs. Paychecks always on time and taxes always paid. Having all my payroll records available online is very helpful. I have never had a problem getting answers when I had questions or concerns. We HAD been customers for 17 years. They were always changing employees and you are only allowed to speak with the person handling your account which changed yearly and sometimes more. When things were fine that wasn't a problem but when you had a problem you had to go thru your payroll "rep person" and they had to contact the various departments for you. You could not speak directly to anyone in charge of the issue. Their supervisors were never available either. Its like the old game Whisper Down The Lane- dealing with this company. We had enough and switched payroll company's I have to say the ONLY person in the 17 years that was helpful and kind was Anabell Able. She was very professional. read more

But, as soon as there is a problem they drop the ball. 1 year later and I am still trying to resolve a filing error THEY made, and they admitted it was their mistake. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but we have corrected the problem" was all the help I ever got.
