Austin's team was there to help me pull my financials, to identify which credit bureau hadn't released our credit freeze, knew about FAIR homeowners insurance, and helped get the correct format of the account wire histories required by the underwriter. We had a short 10-day contingency window for our escrow, to improve the odds that our offer would be accepted. We were willing to do it without a loan, but it would have been bad financially. My financial advisor was pushing hard for me to get a loan with a large lender, so I applied with them too. But they didn't care about my 10-day window. They didn't tell me about my credit freeze, probably because they hadn't run my credit yet. Turnaround for answering my emailed questions about early payoff and ARM timeline was two days. They must have bigger deals to attend to than a homeowner loan. Go with a local person who cares.

Read through tons of stories from people who have never missed on-time payments, and yet are under constant stress from late notices due to CENLAR mismanaging their loans and escrow accounts. Don't be fooled. If you go with Prospect Mortgage, know that they are ultimately not who you'll be dealing with for your home loan. Update: I have yet to experience any problems with CENLAR.
