Editcetera provides all but they are substandard in the world of professional writers. They are also expensive and somewhat egotistical. If sort-of-okay is the top drawer you're looking for then this is the company for you. Good luck.

My books, especially The Shoreline of Wonder, have received stellar reviews thus far, which, as most writers know, can be traced to a good editor. I highly recommend Paul Weisser to anyone who is looking for an editor. He is thorough and, unlike…read moreother editors I had tried, doesn't write what he wants, but polishes your writing to make it read the way you intended. I first met Paul eighteen years ago, after seeing his ad in a local newspaper. At the time, I had a book all written and desperately needed an editor. I had already tried several, but all they wanted to do was rewrite the entire manuscript--by themselves. So, I called Paul, fully thinking that I would end up with another deadbeat editor. But Paul was different. And his approach to editing was different. First, he was not judgmental about my work, and second, he explained how we--not just he--would edit the book. He downloaded my manuscript into his Mac, and with me sitting at his terminal next to him (this was before the power of the modern internet), he proceeded to read the manuscript out loud to me. With this method, he located the dangling participles, misplaced modifiers, and non sequiturs. He asked me questions as we went along, to clarify thoughts, events, and stories, and together we corrected the manuscript as we went along. Once we were done, the book was still my book, but one sentence flowed into the other, and each paragraph correctly followed the preceding one, building one complete, coherent chapter after another. In the end, I had a book that was not only published, but it went on to win a major literary award. Paul and I have just completed editing my second book, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I sent the manuscript to a New York Times best-selling author to see if it passes muster. "Your book not only passes muster," he wrote back, "it is a beautifully written, meticulously researched, and compulsively readable work of history." I think that just about says it all in terms of what Paul Weisser can help you to achieve with your writing project. Henry Dominguez Author: "Edsel Ford & E. T. Her technique was very simple and extremely effective. Like a counselor, she asked probing questions which elicited deep responses from me, and these she wrote down verbatim touch-typing on her laptop with the lid down, and not breaking her stride listening to me empathetically and wholeheartedly. What I admire most about Naomi's approach was being able to deal with the unpredictability and uncertain nature of what was to be discussed. I came to her as an open book and she read it, guiding rather than driving the direction of the conversation. It was a very rejuvenating experience to be heard in that way, and even more illuminating when she presented me with my notes via email just a couple of hours later. Everything I had brought up was presented back to me in black and white - this perspective was so revealing. Naomi was able to grasp very quickly where the conversation was going and what aspects would be most fruitful to probe. She understood, as did I for the first time, that my personal conclusion was the thing worth sharing. She was able to show me what was already in me, but that to which I'd never given words or any expression whatsoever. She is more than a 'book developer', but also a 'creativity midwife' - very apt because my own conclusion was closely related to the subject of creativity being relational. Her passion is to interconnect to help people bring forth their inner treasures in some form. Her fascination is with the entire creative process, and takes in many different forms of artistry and expression. Naomi Rose is a true artist in every sense of the word; a consummate professional, a skilled writer & editor and a birther of creativity in those whose lives she touches.
