Grilled Tilapia Fish & Baked Cassava and Goat Stew
    Bredell W.

Great size fish, beautifully grilled and packed with flavor. That fish was worth the money. I had to start off with that because man, that fish was delicious. Now let's start the review: There is no street parking for this restaurant so I had to park a block away and then walk(bummer). Thats the only bad thing I can say about this restaurant though. Upon entry, I was soaked in a vibrant ambience. I looked around amazed at the decor like a kid in a toy store. I finally got to counter and ordered "Grilled Tilapia(No Plantains), & Cassava Leaf w/Goat Meat". I received my order within 10mins. That is quick food service if you ask me. I took it home and then got down to business. Once again, I ate that fish and wish it was never ending. I never had cassava leaf before so it was an exciting new experience. It was very oily but that was expected from me doing prior research. Once I drained a lot of the oil out, the flavors I tasted were undeniably good. That is something worth trying again if it wasn't for the oil. All in all 10/10 , would recommend ! Follow my IG @Blackdollar007

Door dash of the pictures ndole & Bobolo

Food: The first time I came to prime 3 yrs ago & I ordered suya and I was quite impressed. I believe it was ~10 for a big white square container filled up & I felt that was a decent amount for the price. Flash forward to this week when my friend ordered me door dash from there & I could not believe my eyes. We bought ($23- bobolo & ndole, $13- suya, $7 plantains, pictures below) For how expensive the food was you would expect it to be in a large quantity; but that wasn't even the annoying part. My issue was I felt like it lacked the authentic Kmer taste. Almost as tho the chef rushed through the meal. Keep in mind, I grew up with my grand mom in Cameroon & we're bayangi so I know how good food taste. The meat was cut in huge pieces & not boiled all the way. The ndole was practically a watered down peanuts soup. The bobolo wasn't done nor was the plantains. The suya did taste good & well done 10/10 but they cut the portion size in half & increased the price; so the meal wasn't worth the money we spent in my opinion. I understand inflation & I normally don't mind paying for stuff but it has to at least taste GOOD! Keep in mind, this was my experience maybe yours might be different. I know I def won't be referring any of my friends there for their food! Night life: I've been to prime countless times for night life & tbh it's a hit or miss. Def come with a good group of friends so y'all can vibe together. Beware the crowd, is mostly older folks & if you're a girl then big stomach men will def hit on you. Go somewhere else if you're looking for a younger crowd. I like Cameroonian & Afrobeats music & I go out to have fun regardless of who is in the room; but I have friends who say it's gives Kumba vibes lol so they rarely come there for night life. They also have hookah available. my friends seemed to like it but I can't speak on it cuz I'm not smoker. Overall: there's always enough parking, quiet & safe neighborhood. If you go during the day, they do a good job of keeping the place neat & decent customer service. Night time, the music is very loud so you'll have to speak louder to talk to a server. Note: Police normally lurk the area & the speed limit is like 25 so be careful, then again you gotta be careful in this entire America so. I've posted many pics & vids below. Hope it helps.

I ordered suya and jollof rice. The suya Tate's great and came in a good portion. The jollof rice was awful, it was overcooked and had no flavor. It also contained shrimp which I didn't ask for or select when placing the order through Grubhub. So I fail to understand why it contained shrimp. Also the pickup process was just inconvenient altogether, there was a bunch of people just loitering and no way to tell who actually worked there. I waited at the counter for 15 minutes, a man behind the counter rudely asked me what I was there for and demanding I show him my order details. Shouldn't they already know all that, why can't there be a better system in fulfilling orders?

Awful! I ordered Rice, Suya and Spinach for take away. After 15 minutes I went to pick up my order. The lady only gave me rice and suya and said we are out of spinach. It was 7:26pm. The charge for a small side of suya and rice was $20. Food was basic. Very disappointing! Complete rip-off.

What is happening to this restaurant? The food is getting more expensive, the quality and quantity of food is depreciating.

That's the main reason we decided to go. The two other people I was with smoke cigars. I don't do neither one (hookah or cigars) but was willing to check it out with them. The owner was super nice and answered all of our questions. So, I would say the service was fine. However, he quickly explained how it was not a cigar lounge because the furniture would not be able to withstand the cigar smell, only the hookah one. There were approximately 10 people in the lounge, which made it "crowded". One thing I noticed was the decor. Nice furnishings and absolutely STUNNING photographs hanging on the wall. It gave a sultry vibe. They don't serve real food there, just bites. However, we didn't really inquire or stay longer than 5 minutes to eat. We had eaten at another location. Overall, if you're into hookah and a lot of smoke everywhere (in a SUPER TINY) local spot, this is your place. I don't see myself returning. There's nothing there for me.

The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.

Our waitress was fine. She was the only one working at the time, so she was able to handle the small crowd. Food: I only liked the wings. It was well seasoned and cooked well-which is another reason why I give it 1 star. I had ordered the turkey wings and jollof rice. The turkey wings were too tough and dry. The Jollof rice was spicy and the grains were stale and tasted funny. I sent the food back and replaced it with only the chicken wings. The waitress shared that the place is Nigerian owned, so I was expecting better tasting food. I would NEVER return or recommend it. The place was practically empty, and it was a bit late for a Saturday night. Overall, it just looked dirty and dingy.

But nope we were able to get a table because someone who made reservations didn't come so we were able to slide right on in. We started out with a couple of drinks I believe it was a 1123 punch. It was alright but the drinks I got later made up for that drink not hitting. My boo he ordered the waygu egg rolls and they were fire ok! We also ordered the fried chicken fried deviled and they were so good. Never thought I would like fried deviled eggs. For our entree he ordered the jerk chicken meal and I got the crab risotto, scallops, and spicy broccolini. When I tell you my scallops were so tender and the risotto was so damn cheesy! Lord have mercy! Now to the drinks...so we tried a Hennessy drink can't remember the name was STRONG then my last drink was a nice fruity drink which hit as well. The inside of the restaurant is very much given upscale date night and nice vibes and the DJ was playing those tracks! The only reason I didn't give them 5-stars is the price. They automatically add 20% gratuity and the prices for the food were a little high. But other than those I would love to come back and maybe just sit at the bar during the week day just to see how the vibes are during the week versus the weekend vibes. And how could I forget the complimentary champagne...not a full glass though...lol
