The gym itself is in what feels like a basement. It is small and cramped. There were only three of us in there at the time but I couldn't imagine it on a busy day. I signed up for a free week trial membership. Which is a lovely perk to offer potential new clients. Upon arriving I was given a tour by the person at the front desk. She made sure that before she took me downstairs she found someone to cover her at the front desk. About half way through the tour a woman, I'm assuming manager, came over to us holding a laundry basket. Before saying hi or introducing herself she basically scolded the woman giving me the tour saying "who is watching the front desk if you're down here? I'll finish the tour and you can go back upstairs". At that point this manager woman put on a big fake smile and introduced herself to me and then finished the tour. This interaction alone immediately told me this was not the gym for me. It may be a women's only gym but it didn't provide the feeling of women supporting women. The gym itself is honestly, depressing. No windows. No softness. It's a basement with workout equipment. I chose not to return for remainder of the free trial and certainly wouldn't spend $75 a month to go there.

Being part of an all women's gym has given me a sense of discipline and empowerment. All the women I've met have been really supportive. The facility is really clean too, with showers and a sauna. Reasons why my review is three stars: - In less than a year, two separate classes got their instructor changed THREE times. There seems to be a lot of turnover amongst the staff and while it's inconvenient to my workout schedule, it makes me wonder what's happening behind the scenes that causes sooo much turnover. - I wish there was an option to rent your own locker. I take public transit so it's difficult to lug around all my work/gym/clean clothes. Paying an additional fee for a rented locker would make life so much easier. - I would love either a free/reduced membership for people of the BIPOC community. Or a free weekly/monthly class for BIPOC women. I'm usually the only WoC in my classes and it can feel uncomfortable at times.

It was readily apparent on day one that this curriculum and their instructors are top-notch, head and shoulders above other training programs. As a novice injector, not only did I learn the skills to be successful but was able to tap the PNAA team's vast experience and wisdom for all of those pearls that you can only obtain by working side-by-side with a master sensei. Kathy's teaching style in particular is highly educated but relaxed and hands-on. All of the students were eager to learn in this comfortable environment without judgement or pressure. You have assembled a great team and curriculum for success. Kudos! Will be planning on attending the value-added courses coming up to further hone my skills!

Can you imagine a pedicure in a PRIVATE room, with someone who speaks perfect english so an actual conversation can possibly ensue, and communication about how you'd like your feet/nails done is a breeze? I couldn't. It was refreshing not to have to ask, "What?" 10 times throughout my pedicure. Have you seen Anjelah Johnson's nail salon comedy bit on youtube? That is much closer to how normal pedicures go. This was delightful; a private room, sanitary procedures and a very fun and personable lady. The nail colors (OPI) were all on artificial nails, in a little box for you to pick through while you sit, and you can see what they'll look like on your nails, no surprises once they're applied. This was the best Mani/Pedi I've ever had, in a private room where people are not walking by, walking in, or sitting anywhere in your view. It's amazingly relaxing. That being said, I am the kind of person that mostly allows myself these luxuries because you get a free massage from the fancy massage chairs that almost feel like human hands. Hands Face Body Place had a massage chair but it was lacking, one that just kind of shakes, and now I need to book a massage instead. Call me cheap, whatever, but next time I guess I will take the language barrier and public gawking at my adorable toes in order to get the massage. If they do upgrade the massage chairs, I'll be there once a month!

This will be the first summer that I'm not self-conscious about showing my back or my shoulders! This salon is a real find. It's professional, personable, quiet, effective, and reasonably priced.
