The weather has been especially crummy this spring and summer, but we didn't let that stop us. Adam was friendly, funny, and helpful. He got us set up quickly and pointed out where to head on our big yellow floating bananas! We saw ospreys, turtles, and egrets. We were able to make it to Taylors island and get off the kayaks and walk around. I felt safe in the fairly calm water, and the cloudy weather kept most of the boats away from us, which made for a peaceful trip. Definitely would come back ! Some items to note if you decide to rent: No bathrooms at launch point. If you're hungry grab a snack on the way or in Greenport. You can also bring it with you and eat at Taylors island. Water shoes help if you have them.

It's definitely worth the money, especially if you are spending the day at the outlets. The facility is brand new and the staff take care to keep equipment clean, I saw an associate sanitizing twice while I was there! The little table area is a nice space to sit with a coffee (Victoria's cafe is right next door) or with a snack for the kiddos. Remember to bring your own grippy socks or you can pay for a pair there. We will definitely be back, so excited to have an indoor play space on the east end.

He shared what he knew about the waters and coastline features both there and along Shelter Island... in waters we'd sailed past many times in our own old cutter without the benefit of a great story teller's rich narratives.
