Although, I have to say, other than a few unusual patterned t-shirts, the type of fashion is not really to my taste. The shop would be perfect for the trendier men out there though! Prices are average, and most t-shirts cost around £10, which is general to most chain retailers; So you're getting something unique for the same price. It's a shame that shops such as this are hidden away in shopping centres outside of the city centre. I can see this store being very popular if it were located in central Brum.

I reckon most people who go in are just curious at the idea of a traditional tailors, and it's a refreshingly quiet change to similar shops in London. It specialises in menswear, but I've had a browse around for cufflinks and ties as presents for male friends and family members. Unfortunately for me, the price is high for such quality products, so I remain an admiring window shopper. There is a 10% discount for students, so it's a good place for interview or internship clothes, or even for sub-fusc, if you want quality clothes that will last. It also caters for academics, legal professions and even clerical outfits. You can treat it as a normal shop or get professionally measured and have clothes tailor-made. Great fun to browse around, but definitely not an everyday shop.

As part of the Ede & Ravenscroft tailoring house in London's Old Burlington Street, not only does the Oxford shop offer ready-made suits, sweaters, ties, shirts and accessories, they are also able to deliver custom-made shirts and suits and to my knowledge -at least until recently- had a tailor coming in for bespoke clothes. The choice of clothes and formal wear is quite remarkable for a small city like Oxford, and with quite a few well-off kids joining the local university each year, there definitely is demand for a shop like E & R. They do provide a great variety of dinner suits, and since every student at Oxford University at some point during his university life requires a dinner suit, this would be my recommended place to get it from. And students even get a 10 percent discount (at least they got it during my student time).

As for myself I only found a couple of things I would buy and I'm afraid they were out of my budget. In fact I think I preferred the men's clothes to the women's- they have a much bigger choice!

One suit was a 50 for a size 40 person. Are you kidding me? Tried to have manager fix everything - and he walked away... leaving the entry level employee to deal with the issue. We can't weir their suits, they refuse to give money back (we had to go rent ANOTHER 9 suits for the wedding. Now stuck with both bills. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go anywhere but this place. No help. No quality. Poor service. Lack of management.

My wife swears blind that they didn't put them in the charity bag by accident, but they have disappeared off the face of the earth. I trawled everywhere to find a pair to match the jacket, which was purchased from M&S, as were the trousers. Go to M&S then..... Needed them that night.... and M&S in Redditch don't stock them. I won't bore you with the other stores..... The chap at Heaphys went through loads of permutations, and even offered to use their tailor to make any adjustments. Unfortunately, we just couldn't make a match. He spent ages with me, but no sale. So I plan to go back and get them to adjust some trousers to another suit, and buy an overcoat. I definitely, won't be going anywhere else. I was really impressed by the superb customer service. I'll report back after this weekend.

The exert staff are on hand to advise and it's definitely worth listening to them as they really know their stuff. The attention to detail is what impressed me most and I'd like to congratulate them on their excellent customer service. It makes a huge difference and welcome change from the large department stores. Any alterations are carried out swiftly and professionally by two talented seamtresses. The shop proudly boasts it's a supplier of designer menswear to the stars of music, sport and entertainment, you may spot one when you pay a visit.
