My best friend and I were looking for a place to enjoy a delicious, fresh Italian meal in Richmond…read morewhile we caught up on life updates and strategized our plan for support as she was to run 100 miles the next day in Centurion Running's Thames Path Ultramarathon (TP100). I found Adesso on Yelp, we left our airbnb and were on the move to find it. After finding a place to park, we walked the few blocks over. Immediately we were greeted to be helped and since the inside smelled a little bit like cigarette smoke to us, we opted to keep our jackets on and sit outside in the brisk English air. The waiter who took care of us was incredibly attentive and kind. While he spoke Italian and we spoke English, we made it work and were able to order an amazing meal: garlic bread, burrata (for me, my friend does not love cheese), spaghetti pomodoro and a nicely breaded, thin, perfectly cooked and simple piece of chicken. Then, I finished the evening with a mocha for myself. While we have no science supporting this, we believe this meal was the most perfect fuel for her race the next day - as she completed the 100 miles in under 20 hours, approximately 7 hours before she anticipated she would. Until we find ourselves back in Richmond, we will take with us the fond memory; When we are next in Richmond, Adesso will be our first culinary stop. The excellent service and delicious, fresh, authentic food will not disappoint and we recommend this place to anyone!

However, this establishment is far too close to The Book of Mormon to be this fancy. I, a foolish American, came in here because it was the most delicious looking place by the theater I was going to, and I was craving some chicky chicky parm or perhaps a fettuccini alfredo. I looked at the menu and had no friggen idea what anything was -- again, probably on me. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which I've enjoyed numerous times in my past. However, this one came with a complete lobster atop my ravioli, shell and all. Tip: The legs are actually shell, so don't eat that. I felt as though I was being tested to see if I knew how to eat a lobster with just a fork and knife. Guess what? I failed. I could feel the fine people of England judging me as I fumbled with my lobster shell. That's fine; they will feel my judgment when they sit before my throne at the end of their lives. #IAm

The thinly sliced almonds brought a rich, nutty flavor to partner with the grain pasta. I wish that the tomatoes had contributed a bit more to the flavor, to add more juiciness to the heavy nut base. Oh my what a happy accident! Flew to London on last minute…read morebusiness. Met w Associates from Dubai and Australia. We had planned on going to a gem down the way but they were booked. Bilal had remembered an area nearby and we walked there. It was a rainy one and legging it was nice only because the rain mercifully slowed for a few minutes. We smelled something great. Walked for a bit and all three of us looked at each other and said... Let's go back to the wonderful smell! So glad we did. Our server spoke w Mo in Italian and was so sweet. The items are very reasonably priced. Check out the pics. All food was gone!

Oh my gosh -- this was genuinely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in the UK…read more We politely mentioned that we didn't enjoy one of the pasta dishes and simply requested a small modification. Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

The service was incredibly friendly (Ana was so sweet!) and the food was incredible. I got the squid ink passatelli and was completely blown away. This is a small, high-class Italian restaurant at the Parliament end of Great Peter Street…read more Unsurprisingly, it's a favourite for lunches with the Westminster village of politicians, lobbyists, trade associations and the like. The food is upmarket modern Italian, made with fresh ingredients, many sourced directly from Italy. I found the pasta to be fresh and tasty, with a wider choice of ingredients than I would normally come across - Cappellacci (little pasta pies) with potato & mozzarella, broccoli puree & pecorino di fossa cheese, for example. Vegetarians are reasonably well catered for, and they indicate a number of 'nearly vegetarian' dishes that can be made fully vegetarian on request, which is a nice idea. Soups and starters range from £9 to £10.50 and mains from £13.50 for pasta to £22 for steak or wild turbot (extra side dishes - vegetables or salad - come in at £3.50 per portion). Desserts come in at £6.50, but they are known for their Italian cheese-boards, featuring cheeses otherwise hard to find in UK restaurants: this varies from £7.50 for 3 cheeses, to a waist-expanding £11.50 for 7 cheeses (but can also be shared!). These are clearly very popular indeed and we saw several groups indulging. The wine list is also substantial - over 130 including champagnes - and this is a rather select mixture of French and Italian wines. A 12.5% service charge is added, so expect a two course dinner with wine to come in at around £50-60 a head: a simple lunch should be about £25 or so. I'd heard that service has been a problem for others, but my experience is that it was very good: if anything, the bread and water waiters were a little too attentive. We had to wait a little too long to order, but the food then came quickly, as did the coffee and the bill when we asked for it. It was all pretty friendly, as well - not as snooty as some places around Westminster can be. The price will make it mostly a business location, and it's clearly very popular for that: lunch bookings are essential. The tables are a little close together in places for a special intimate meal for two (some tables are better than others for this), but then again, who wants to risk having a politician on the next table on their special date? But they are happy to cater for groups and their website lists various group menus, which range from £30 to £44 per person (without drinks, sides or service). Note: they are open only Monday-Friday.

Hmmm..... I think old age is catching up with me. I thought I had reviewed this place awhile ago…read morebut not according to Yelp! These premises has been an Italian restaurant as long as I can remember. It used to be Pizza Piazza but ever since Greg Proops, the Canadian comedian called it Pizza Disaster when he was performing at Epsom Playhouse, I always had it in my mind as Pizza Disaster! I'm not sure if Greg Proops' off the cuff comment may have contributed to the demise of Pizza Piazza but Sicily has taken over and lent an upper class air to this end of Epsom's own restaurant row. The food is classical Italian. I didn't spot anything particularly Sicilian but there is a wide range of pasta, pizzas and cooked meats and seafood. As I was going salsa dancing afterwards, I didn't want anything too heavy. Hilary, my salsa dance friend and I split one of their sharing antipasto plates, which had butterfly king prawns, deep fried squid rings, smoked salmon on toasted ciabatta topped with mascarpone, prawn cocktail, breaded crab claws served with spicy tomato dip and tartare sauce I then had a spaghetti carbonara, which was nice except for the price (£8.95). Hilary was happy with her seafood risotto, which was generous with the seafood. The service was excellent - efficient and very friendly. Sicily is now probably the best Italian restaurant in Epsom. It is pricey and will therefore sadly remain a special occasion type of place but you do get your money's worth.
