To make a long (and annoying) story short -- I got the dress more than two months later. It was not altered. It had unfinished seams. It looked like a 5th grader had sewn it. There was no price tag so they quoted me whatever amount they thought they could swindle me for ($175). The staff blamed each other for my troubles and didn't attempt to make the situation right. Don't EVER shop here. It's a fly-by-night boutique that's nothing more than a thrift store for gaudy dresses & incompetent check out clerks. I thought Phipps Plaza had standards...

They did a great job or pointing out the Black owned businesses and that was my focus for the day. The prices in here were kind of high, but it's essentially a boutique so I didn't expect TJ Maxx prices. My syrups were only $28 though and there were plenty of products in there that weren't super expensive. The employees were really helpful and informative and the space was packed full of stuff but it was very well-organized.

I took the dress I paid $170 to have altered to another seamstress for a second opinion, and I was…read moreshocked. She told me that almost none of the work I was promised had actually been done. On the day of my event, the dress was still so loose in the bust that I had to wear a bra underneath it because it did not fit properly. I was charged $25 for bra cups and another $20 just to have them stitched in, which the new seamstress said amounted to only a couple of simple stitches. I genuinely have no idea what the remaining money was for because there was virtually no alteration work done. I strongly recommend not using this store's alteration service. The seamstress was rude, rushed every appointment, unprofessional, and completely dismissive of my concerns. After paying $170, I expected my dress to fit correctly. Instead, I had to pay someone else to fix what should have been done the first time. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I feel I was charged for work that was never performed.

Dear Santa, This…read moreyear has had its ups and downs but I hope ultimately I am on your Good list. All I want for Christmas is a new black fleece to replace my old, pilled one. Or . . . something pretty from Michael Kors. Either would make me very merry! Love, Carrie Neal --- Well, this Mary must not have been so contrary in 2014 because rumor has it treats from MK it will be! The ladies at the Lenox store are so helpful and nice, without being pushy. Yes, it is Michael Kors so, yes, it is spendy, but they don't behave like they work on commission (they do). Find an associate you like (my shopping pal is Katie B.) and get your wish list going... Among my wishes are the shiny things pictured here - my old MK watch is five or so years old and super ding-ed up - and those lovely bangles look so nice stacked around the new one. Other picks include a great pair of black leather boots with a low stack heel and a demure circular MK logo (they have styles from leather with high heels, suede in different colors, rain boots and more), a puffy but sleek navy jacket (also available as a vest or longer jacket) and pretty much any one of their classic purses. One stop shopping in luxurious fashion. If Santa makes just a quick drive by, I will be one happy girl on Christmas morning - and well beyond.

A sales associate immediately asked what I was looking for and amazingly, I was for once not browsing and looking for something specific. I needed a new bag for work that could carry my laptop. She showed me their options, of which there were really only two. The second option was something I would have never considered if it hadn't been for the sales associate. The bag looked too flashy and there was no way it would carry everything I needed, but she promptly busted out laptop cases, iPad cases, and stuffing and shoved it all into the bag to demonstrate that actually, yes, it WOULD work. I'm not easily swayed, but she totally sold me on the second bag- that's what being a sales rep is all about in the end, right? I'm not sure if she works on commission, but she definitely had my sale. Unfortunately neither of the two options really met all my needs so I had to pass, but that second bag is absolutely on my Christmas list. Great job MK for hiring great people!

Now, their website does say "Alterations While You Wait, with Advanced Appointments" however that would totally defeat the purpose of alterations while you wait. If you had time why would you schedule to come in days from now just to wait there while they work, when you could just drop them off now and come back in a couple days to pick up? So I am not sure if I am reading into their advertising too much but I cant figure any other reason they wouldn't have hemmed my pants. I gave them a full day! If you need Multiple days to perform the Hem, or Multiple days notice before you can Hem while the customer waits 3 feet away, I am pretty sure that isn't the "Alterations While You Wait" the public is looking for.
