During the last summer, I got a pedicure at Skin Solutions and I could not have been happier. I do…read morenot remember the type of pedicure that I had (they have several options) but when I left, I was thoroughly pleased with the time spent. Every other time that I have had a pedicure, it was at one of those malls places with the Korean men/woman who do not speak english and it is always a little uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I like to read a 6 week old Cosmo as much as the next girl but there is something to be said for sitting in a chair for over an hour and having someone to talk to. The woman (which for the life of me, I cannot remember her name) had most of the same interests that I do (working on cars, etc.) and we slipped into an easy conversation. I even had a new issue of Cottage Living if she left the room!! I did not see them clean the foot bath, which was a little bit of a disappointment. And in hind sight, I should have asked them to clean it in front of me. The pedicure itself last for about an hour and a half, including a foot massage, several gooey things applied and washed off, a foot mask (wow), and super tasty smelling lotion applied to my feet. I wish that my feet would have dried a little faster as they were a little slippery when I left. Otherwise, the pedicure itself was a fine experience. As for Skin Solutions as a business, I do appreciate their weekly emails with available appointments and info for monthly specials. I also received a certificate for a free massage/facial, which I did not get to use before it expired, but it was nice to receive. They also had a contest not so long ago that you were able to enter a friend/coworker/etc. into and they would win something. I entered a coworker and she received a certificate for a free massage/facial as well!! Over all, I would recommend Skin Solutions for their environment, very down to earth staff and freebies!!

I had never had a gel manicure removed before, so I was wary and unsure of how the process was supposed to go, but I could immediately tell this was wrong. When I questioned the technique and pointed out that the nail tech was damaging my nails, the other staff woman who was advising me got an attitude. She also had the nerve to suggest I get another gel manicure to cover and strengthen my now-damaged nails. No, thank you. I immediately went to another salon and recounted my experience, and they confirmed that they removed it incorrectly and too forcefully. I can only hope and pray that my nails grow back to their normal strength and health, but for now, they flake and chip at the slightest touch.
