Now I had been out of work for nearly one year prior, and worked briefly for another agency in Visalia for a short time. The other agency was very standoffish, in that once they got you a job, they never were in communication. I was relieved form that job, which the agency would never tell me why, and consequently they never even made an effort to get me a second position. So I got in touch with EEP, and I could tell right away I'd made the right choice. ALL personnel were professional and caring, in finding you that job you were qualified to do. I have now reached 720 hours of work, and am looking to get hired on from the company. I doubt this opportunity would exist if I hadn't gone to EEP. Thank you all, this endeavor has changed mine and my family's lives.

Meanwhile, someone I know actually got offered the same job and showed up and did the work. That was my first true red flag about this company. I had to go in person to get my check for my last job. The lady up front barely acknowledged me standing right in front of her. No smile, eye contact, greeting or professionalism at all. I felt like I had to pull teeth to get basic information from her. She was rude, short and had no business being the face of the company and greeting people walking in. That was it. I will never use this service again. I prefer a company that treats people better. They not only lied to me but treated me like I was less than when it is people walking in the door that is keeping you in business to begin with (keeping YOU employed).

Everything from the initial contact to the interview was beyond expectations. They really took the time to find out about me, my professional experience and what industry I had the most interest in. After my initial interview they were quick to find a position that fit my career aspirations and acquired skills. I was always made to feel that PSU had my best interest top of mind and that they really took the time to make a proper assessment of both myself and the company in which I was placed. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to have worked with this company. I'm 73 and was never good at math (I literally have a mental block about even trying to learn anything that has to do with numbers or money), plus I'm especially intimidated about Taxes and Annuities and IRAs and such. Somehow I have been given incorrect information that once I was living only on Social Security, I didn't have to pay taxes anymore, and when I found out that was incorrect, I freaked out because I hadn't filed a tax return the year before. Being new in town I had no idea where to turn because in my hometown my best friend had done my bookkeeping for me half of my life. I knew I couldn't afford an expensive accountant so I called the Kings County Commission on Aging to see if they could recommend someone to help me. They we're very helpful and connected me to Dorothea, who actually volunteers for them to help out senior citizens. When I called her, she was welcoming and friendly, and put me at ease instantly. Then she kindly and patiently guided me through the process and was able to help me get through it. She has alsobeen very accommodating to my schedule, and made every effort to help me a feel comfortable and relaxed (and not just dumb as I thought I was).
