Had a good time with friends! we come often, but this most recent visit wasn't so great after our server gave one of our friends attitude about him forgetting his id at camp (now it's understandable to be stern about needing an id to get a drink) but when she asked him what he'll be having he said "i forgot my id" thats where her attitude started. Wonderful "middle of nowhere" bar! Great food, strong pours and friendly service. Try the homemade chicken strips or cod cut-ups. The breading is so flavorful and flaky. The owners Bill and Ingrid are usually found in the bar and happy to share information and stories about the area. Try to be there on a Saturday night for karaoke; some of the locals will amaze you! Crawl back in on Sunday morning for the Bloody Mary bar. If you are in the Wallace area, do not miss this place!!! read more

Been coming to this river since I could walk and the tavern is cool but don't order their pork taco appetizers. Their 10 dollars and only about 2 dollars worth is food it was ridiculous especially for a good ol Idaho mountain area eatery. People are hungry after playing in the outdoors. Other than that good atmosphere and great people just need to up portion size this ain't California... yet. read more

Had a kick-ass vacation to camp out and attend the grand opening about this time (early Fall) last year... Crisp fresh air camping with a full service bar & restaurant to wake up in the morning after bonfire beer drinking with some of my favorite friends? I mean all the fun of camping with waking up for Sunday football on the big screen, Bloody Mary's and a killer scramble with perfectly cooked bacon...Fantastic! I can't wait to do it again! Kind of a late review since I haven't been there since late spring last year, but I will say that the beer was cold, the Elk burger was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly. This place is also off the beaten path near the Couer d'Alene River. It's an excellent place to stop in while either going to camp or coming from camping on your way back home. read more

Atmosphere. There are many larger, higher-class places in Idaho with less ambiance. The food? Excellent. Unique menu. You'll see things, e.g., moose filet, frog legs, they don't serve on Broadway. Max Munson, the chief chef and bottle washer, could work at Seattle's Georgian Room. He's capable enough. Service? It's the Prichard Tavern. You want something? You order it, Max cooks it, and someone brings it to you. The distance between the kitchen and the table isn't far. I gave it five stars because, although it's well off the beaten path, and by conventional standards, modest, it's one of those destination places that takes you away from the maddening crowd and back to a quieter time. If you're in that general neck of the woods, try the Prichard Tavern. Max obviously takes pride in what he does. read more

We visited this rustic little tavern in late June of this year, didn't get to spend nearly as much time there as we wanted, but we made it a point to return to purchase our lunch. The food was great, cooked fresh on the spot, and the service was good, too. For a laid-back, delightful experience, we recommend you visit this tavern and enjoy its friendliness. Prichard is a step back in time, all that's left of a historical, booming gold rush era full of ghosts from the past, so to speak. The history of the area is enormous.
