Gulf Gate Rescreening performed several services with excellence. At first I got an estimate to…read morerescreen my pool after the renovation, but then we decided to redo the decking and eliminate the screen. They were flexible at changing the service to removal. They did a fast and thorough job at the removal, and the cleaned up well. Later, when we were ready to replace the pool area gutters, the came through again. They first removed the old gutters and the metal "wrapping" around the facia. We discovered the wood rot was pretty bad and postponed the install. We looked around for carpenters to fix the facia and found a few 5-star rated ones. We also asked Gulf Gate who they recommended and it was one of the 5-Star people we found. These guys were great as well. They convinced me to use cedar instead of pressure-treated and that led to us cancelling a new install of the "wrapping" but Gulf Gate, who had no problem with the cancellation. Finally, they installed the 6-inch Super Gutters, which are extremely strong and designed to support a pool cage. We are not reinstalling a cage, but these are the only gutters that would go with the straight-line modern architecture of our house. They look great and are big enough to handle a hurricane (which also means they are a bit pricey). I definitely recommend this company!

They answered the phone right away and had Jim reach out to me the same day to set a time for a walk through. He was very prompt, professional, and gave me a quote on the spot. He helped me select the screen and the work was performed while I was out of town. Just got back and the visibility of the Phifer, 18x14 fiberglass screen in charcoal is fantastic. I was worried charcoal color would impact the view because it was dark but in fact it absorbs the light with no reflection so the eye just sees past it. We had 25 years old screen that was threadbare, what a difference. I highly recommend this company.

Better I thought to just replace the pool cage completely. This meant getting estimates from several contractors and then trying to figure out did you make the right choice. I will be upfront that I am always suspicious of the lowest bid and try to find something in the middle of the pack; but after seeing five contractors, there was no middle: everyone was in the same ballpark. So then we go to a gut decision of who feels right. We made our decision but before saying yes to anyone, we had to find someone to do the pavers. Same process but bids all over the place. After doing as much research as possible, we made a decision and felt comfortable. We asked the paver company if there were any pool cage contractors they either worked with or could recommend. Here is serendipity: the very contractor we were going to use is the one they use. Oh, happy dance for me. Everything was coordinated through the paving contractor. We were called by Screenmasters of Sarasota, Inc. and they told us when they would arrive and what we needed to remove from the lanai: basically everything and into the garage it went. Screenmasters arrived and dismantled everything; and they suggested we remove some pigmy palms that were growing toward the screens. "O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!", I hated those pigmy palms. Unfortunately, if I wished to continue my marriage then some compromise had to be agreed upon. Three of the loathed palms would go, for now. To begin the process, Screenmasters needed a copy of the survey done when the house was built and a five hundred dollar deposit to cover permitting and order materials. After the pavers were done, Screenmasters returned. The job of replacing the pool cage took three days to do. The team arrived each morning and except for a lunch break worked through the day to around 5 pm. There were no corners cut. They didn't try to do things on the cheap. The pool cage looks great and is definitely well made and well put together. I was amazed watching these professionals at work; and at one point a crew member had to walk on one of the upper bars to tighten some screen they were not happy with. I wondered if he had trained with Nik Wallenda. The entire team worked well together, all knew what they were doing, and my wife is thrilled with the new pool cage. (and pavers) All I can say is if you want to either just paint and rescreen, they do that also, or replace your entire pool cage, then you need not worry when you hire Screenmasters: they will do you proud. At the conclusion of the job they will expect a check for materials and labor minus your deposit.
